Butterfly Challenges #8: Bingo, where I've chosen die cuts, butterflies and designer paper.
and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge. If I hurry, I'll be entry #512...seriously!! Awesome participation!!
My background paper - so pretty, withe delicate floral and butterfly images - is a former 12 x 12 sheet that I bought on sale for under 25 cents, a while back. I've been hoarding it, but when I opened my box to rummage around for some cardstock, it was sitting atop a piece of peach paper. Oh my...caught my eye and caused a *ping*. I even embossed vellum for the first time! Eeek...but we survived...
My husband's out on one of his three hour bike rides, so I've decided to do chores... Hahahahahaha. NOT! I'm playing. And, the bike races we were scheduled to work this weekend wound up being cancelled, so, looks like I'll have some time at the kitchen counter to dabble away. Cards, Sherlock Season 3, home-made pizza tomorrow (reminds me: dough creating required)...maybe I'll even get on my bike...
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments make my day!
What a gorgeous card! That designer paper is so pretty and I am proud of you for using it. I often have trouble using paper that I have only one sheet of but what good does it sitting in a box? And that delicate butterfly and the greeting embossed on vellum... just beautiful! You nailed those challenges!
Enjoy your weekend,
Absolutely one gorgeous card Carol! I love those soft sweet colors you used, just so pretty and that butterfly...oh my! Just beautiful. Enjoy your pizza and when you have the time, would you mind sharing your pizza dough recipe??? Please, I love homemade pizza but have not found the perfect dough recipe. thanks!
Loving that negative space and gorgeous buttefly. Lovely touch with the vellum sentiment too. Enjoy your "free" time :)
Always amazing Miss C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome prettiness, Carol ... such soft delicate colours ... and butterfly ... and vellum ... just lovely! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Anita :)
Thanks so much for your very thoughtful comment on my blog yesterday. Your butterfly card is gorgeous! Love how you layered the butterfly.
Gorgeous! Such beautiful paper peeking through the circle - only to be topped by the lovely butterfly!
I just discovered Sherlock - only seen one episode so far - and it is fabulous!
haha...chuckling about the chores...I do them inbetween crafting and commenting...
Don't you love it when things go PING?! Awesome card and you're right, that paper is perfect for your card!

P.S. I'm a lil behind on chores over here...umm...k...a lot behind! ;)
Thank you so much for sharing your delightful crafting for my Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge for May - hope to see you again soon. x
A pretty backing paper indeed and does look perfect against the peach . Love the sentiment on the vellum. Thank you for fluttering by my bingo challenge. Hugs Mrs A.
Love your "ping". Almost looks like a multi-inked and distressed work of art. My DH is on a five day bike tour. But I'm not doing housework either ;) Submission calls call.
Such a very pretty card! Love the bfly and your embossed vellum is wonderful! :)
Wow Carol, this card is amazing! I so love that paper and can see why you were hoarding it. I can't believe you got it for 25 cents!!! Why can't I find deals like that?! lol Those butterflies are so delicate and gorgeous-boy I am loving them. Love the peach cardstock, perfect with the paper and you embossed vellum turned out perfecto! Now you can do it again without being afraid because you are good at it! Your hubby sure does love his bike and racing, great for him to have a hobby. My hubby's hobby is farming and yes he is at it all the time. lol And I love watching the crops grow all around me. It always amazes me when I look at field after field of crops, just so beautiful. I bet the bikers look beautiful too as they come whizzing by in their colorful uniforms and bikes! Enjoy your weekend and I think I'm caught up with your beautiful creations!! lol Hugs, Brenda

A splendid "ping" moment put to paper so beautifully! Your knack of choosing the perfect color/paper mix shines in this card! The two colors that you used for the double layered butterfly could not possibly be any more perfect for each other AND the DP!
A breathtaking creation pal!
This is a very pretty card. The backing paper is so pretty with the vellum sentiment across it!
