Just Us Girls Challenge #617~Wild Card Week - Plaid...Stocking Cover Plate Cards

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #617 where, as this week's hostess, I'm inviting you to go WILD with PLAID!  Whatever colours and style of plaid suit your fancy, we want to see it in the gallery!
A huge thank you to our Guest Designers, Chrissie Stokes and Stef Perry, whose cards have dazzled us all month long. Hope we'll see you playing along with us in future challenges.

I've already shared my Latte cover die in previous posts; now time to share the equally as awesome Stocking cover die (My Creative Time)!  For the first card, the stocking is used as it's meant to be used - as part of the card base - and opens to reveal space for your message.

For this card, I cut the stocking as a separate piece and added it to the background.  So. Much. FUN!

Looking forward to seeing your *mad for plaid* creations in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #257~Designer's Choice - Cozy...Warm and Cozy (Simple Stories Ephemera and Knit EF)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #257 where I've selected COZY as my Designer's Choice. Quilts, warm clothes, snuggly things: I'm sure many of those spring to mind...but perhaps a cup cozy might be a choice, or a teapot cozy, or a cozy group of close knit family/friends. Lots of choices!

I dove, once again, into my rather extensive stash of ephemera - this time from Simple Stories - for my card. I selected images that keep me toasty on wintry days: sweaters, hats, mittens and of course, hot beverages. Even the background has an element of cozy, with the knit embossing from a RG folder.

Please check out my teammates' delightful creations, then play along with us!

Just Us Girls Challenge #616~Photo Week...Snowman Flurry of Happiness (Your Next Stamp)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #616, where our new designer, Lisa E, has selected this sweet in-love snow couple to inspire us. Too adorable!

Once again, Chrissie Stokes and Stef Perry join us as Guest Designers; do check out their cute cards, as well as those by the rest of the team.

I went rather literal with the photo with my little snow people and sentimet from Your Next Stamp. The 'window' is from Studio Katia. Of course, they needed to be on sparkly snow.

That's it from me; looking forward to seeing how the photo inspires you!

Just Us Girls Challenge #615~Color Week...Light Blue, Silver and White Floral - Sending Hugs Your Way

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #615, where our lovely hostess, Lisa K, has selected Light Blue, White and Silver as this week's colour inspiration. A frosty combination; perfect for the weather here!

Once again, we're delighted to have Stef Perry and Chrissie Stokes joining us as Guest Designers; their cards, as well as those of my teammates, are absolutely lovely!

Finally had a play with my TH/Sizzix Festive Bouquet, bought a while ago. Of late, I've been smitten with the Echo Park/Carta Bella winter collections that have lovely flowers using this very combination, which prompted me to give it a try with these florals and leaves...so glad I did! I used the two lightest blues from Memory Box's Ocean Blue collection and gorgeous silver mirror paper from the Sizzix Opulent collection. STAMPlorations circles cover plate adds a subtle texture to the background.

That's it from me.
Looking forward to seeing your Light Blue, Silver and White creations in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Perfectly CAS January 2022 Challenge #23~Flowers...Floral Hello

Hello,

Welcome to Perfectly CAS January 2022 Challenge #23, where we're inviting you to showcase flowers on 1/3 or less of your project. We're in full-blown winter here, so I'm looking forward to seeing lovely blooms filling the gallery!

I've used some lovely Pinkfresh Studio ephemera for my cards, pairing it with a Hello from The Stamp Market. Simple! In fact, the most difficult part was selecting which florals to use, as they're all so very pretty!

Please be sure to pop by my teammates' blogs, leave them some love, then play along with us!
  • A friendly reminder: For this challenge, we're asking you to use one-third (aka: the rule of thirds) or less on your card designs, leaving plenty of scrumptious white space (two-thirds of your panel) to draw our eyes to to your focal image. Kylie has included an easy-to-follow explanation on the challenge blog here.

Thank you for dropping by!

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #1~Snowflakes...Latte 'Tis the Season and Merry & Bright (MCT and STAMPlorations)

Hello,

Popping in to join the new Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #1~Snowflakes with a duo of cards. What a fabulous challenge to keep us in Christmas and coffee year-round!

First, my latte cover plate card - from My Creative Time - where the mug opens as the card front. I love this design; something different from the 'usual'. Pretty papers from Echo Park's Winter collection; snowflake from MCT as well.

My second card - a peppermint mocha coffee, I've decided - features a lovely ATC image from STAMPlorations. I backed it with a matching blue cardstock and a fluttering of gold snowflakes. A simple sentiment - in navy - finishes it off.

Thank you for dropping by!

HLS January 2022 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge...Missees Girl Power

Hello,

One of my favourite finds of 2021 was the Missees, Missees Man and Missees Pets line of stamps, dies and papers, designed by Karin Joan for Studio Light. I made oodles of Missees, some of which I've shared and some, I've not...and this is one that's finally seeing her turn on the stage. For most of the pretty gals, I used slimlines; here was my first of a set using an A2 Mama Elephant frame and banners from P13's Girl Power collection.  I'll share the remainder over on IG.

Now, to start on a fresh batch of Missees!

That's it from me! Check out what my talented teammates have created, then bring out
your dies and join us in the gallery!

Inkspirational Challenge #256~Word Prompt - Goal...Nephew Hockey Card

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #256, where our word prompt for the next two weeks is GOAL. Setting, accomplishing, reaching for, scoring...what goals will you share with us?

My nephew plays hockey, so of course, the minute I saw this prompt, I immediately thought of him. This photo is one of my favourites, taken when he was trying on his gear - in the house, of course- for the first time. He was about 5 then and now, nearly 5 years later, he certainly shines as a sporting, solid, committed player. Yep...that's my boy! Oh...and he's not a goalie on a regular basis; I just wanted to use my Photoplay hockey paper and stickers for this challenge occasion.

AND, I accomplished *my* goal of making a mini trifold album for him - similar in format to the one I shared here -  featuring a handful of photos from his 2017/18 year of playing. A bit of a challenge to get decent pictures of the album but...I think you'll be able to figure it out. The tutorial, at Polly's Paper Studio, is so easy; I love the format!

Inside pages - mini cards tucked in pockets

Papers lining inserts, where more photos could be added:

Back of album when unfolded: cover on right, the back in the center, a fourth pocket/insert that folds in, when assembled.

Just Us Girls Challenge #614~Trend Week - Ink or Sprayed Backgrounds...Panda Hugs

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #614 , where our lovely hostess, Vicki, invites us to use inked or sprayed backgrounds on our projects this week. If you're like me, this is a fabulous opportunity to get messy!!

Once again, we're delighted to have Stef Perry and Chrissie Stokes joining us this week. You'll love their cards, as you will those designed by my teammates.

I went ultra-super-simple with my inked background; heavy sponging of Picked Raspberry distress ink; a spray of Perfect Pearl infused water and that was it. A pretty-in-pink stage for this cute panda from The Stamp Market!

Bet you have plenty of ways to add ink/sprays to your backgrounds; looking forward to seeing them in the gallery!

HLS January 2022 Stencil Challenge~Anything Goes...Warm Wishes Poinsettia (Erin Lee Creative + Altenew)

Hello,

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers January 2022 Stencil Challenge, where the theme is always Anything Goes.

Altenew's Modern Poinsettia stamp and die has been part of my collection for a couple years. My showcases have been quite basic - gold embossed poinsettia typically paired with a black/white/gold background. Last month, I found the matching stencil for this set, at an awesome price, as in under $5. The packaging served as inspiration for my ink colours: Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord, Rip Persimmon, Barn Door and Festive Berries. I added some gold Studio Katia sparkles to the center and panel, along with a sentiment from Erin Lee Creatives. Easy...and I'm pleased with the way this turned out. No colouring/watercolouring stress...yayyyy!

Head over to the main blog where you'll see sensational stencil delights from my teammates.
Hope you'll join us; looking forward to seeing which stencils from your collection you'll be sharing with us!

Hello,

Welcome to STAMPlorations January 2022 CAS Cards Challenge, where Anything Goes is always the theme, with an optional twist which, this month, is RAINBOW! No rainbows where I am at the moment...just snow and frigid temperatures!

Playing with the awesome STAMP ephemera products once again (yes...addicted to them).  Here, I've combined a sentiment from Thank You Coffee with a strip of the Rainbows - Ephemera Tiles, placed atop a background using Circles All Over Texture Cover Plate, Inside reads 'Thank You', so the full message is "For Brightening My Day...Thank You".

That's it from me; time for you to play along.
