Inkspirational Challenge #279 - Technique Challenge - Paper Piecing...Quilted Poinsettia JOY (Concord & 9th, Photoplay)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #279, where our Technique Challenge is Paper Piecing. Fussy cutting, inlaying paper pieces with die cuts...as long as you have 'pieced' paper, you're good to go!

I know that, technically, "paper piecing" requires stamping/fussy cutting, but...I am completely and utterly pathetic with fussy cutting! Vision, poor coordination...just can't! So, I decided to go a slightly different route, by paper piecing my brand new Concord & 9th Quilted Poinsettia dies. Trust me...this was a bit of a challenge, getting things to line up correctly. Once I did (a few mess-ups along the way!), the results are pretty. Here, I've used P13 patterned paper bits. A great way to use of scraps...I mean, paper pieces. LOL!

Looking forward to seeing your paper piecing artistry in the gallery.

Just Us Girls Challenge #660 ~ Photo Week...Peace On Earth Deer Wreath

Hello,

I'm back as hostess for Just Us Girls Challenge #660, where we have this lovely photo - selected by teammate Vicki - as this week's inspiration. This room...so glamourous!

Our talented November guest, Karren Johnson, and the amazing design team have created lovely cards, drawing inspiration from various aspects of the image. Thank you, Karren, for sharing your exceptional creativity with us this month! We're sad to see you go, but hope you'll join us often in upcoming challenges.

The deer picture over the mantle, the greenery and the navy/gold are elements that caught my eye - and I translated them into the card you see below.  Simple..with my lovely MCT stamps and dies.

This will be our final challenge for 2022, as the team takes a well-deserved December break to recharge their creativity. And watch for some new things coming here at Just Us Girls in 2023! Exciting!

Looking forward to seeing how the photo inspires you.

Just Us Girls Challenge #659 ~ Color Week - Red, Green, Gold....Merry & Bright (Pinkfresh Studio)

Hello,

I'm delighted to be your hostess for Just Us Girls Challenge #659, where you're invited to use traditional Christmas colours - red, green and gold - on your cards/projects. You are *not* required to create a Christmas-themed card; just play with the colours in any fashion you please!

We're delighted to have Karren Johnson joining us as our November Guest Designer; her card is gorgeous, as are those of my teammates.

I'm continuing to play with Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Elements and a sentiment/frame from an older set: Merry & Bright. I've had the stamps/dies for years and this marks their debut! Glad they played nicely with the new stuff.

Looking forward to a gallery filled with Red, Green and Gold!

Hello,

Welcome to Perfectly CAS Challenge #33, where we're inviting you to bring snowflakes - a flurry or solo or anything in between - to your Perfectly CAS cards.

I've used this design last year for some quick cards and love it so much that I've replicated it both for this challenge and for some of this year's cards. Silver shimmer and sparkle...so pretty!

Inkspirational Challenge #278 - Photo Challenge...Snowglobe 'Tis the Season

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #278, where we have this lovely wintry snow globe scene to spark your creativity.  Create a snow globe or select from elements inside...the choice is yours. Excited to see what you'll bring to the gallery!

I decided to go whimsical with my 4.5 x 4.5  card, featuring papers and images from Doodlebug. Not exactly 'original' but I couldn't resist this sweet scene. Plus, it's in a snow globe! Works for me!

Looking forward to seeing how the photo inspires you!

Just Us Girls Challenge #658 ~ Make a Matching Envelope...Joy (Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Elements Washi, Merry and Bright sentiments)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #658, where our lovely Lisa invites us to *Make a Matching Envelope* for our card/project. So fun, right!

Once again,  Karren Johnson joins us as our November guest designer; her card-and-envelope pairing is flutter-fabulous!

For quite a while, I've been talking myself out of buying Pinkfresh Studio washi and matching dies (and stencils+stamps) but...not any more! Ohmystars! Way too much fun! My first purchase is Holiday Elements (die and washi only, so far); the images are gorgeous! And talk about a quick way to make a pretty card and, in this case, a matching envelope. The card's joy is Pinkfresh sentiment ephemera; the envelope's sentiment is from Erin Lee Creative. Background design from Pigment Craft Co.

I tell you, the washi is lovely...sooooo lovely!

Looking forward to your cards + envelopes filling the gallery!

HLS November 2022 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge...Gingerbread House (MCT)

Hello,

How about some Christmas baking, paper style? Gingerbread house! I'm smitten with this set from MCT; in fact, I may well have an entire neighbourhood in the works! You can create tags, cards or ornaments from this collection...so much fun! And with a few colour changes, it can likely be used year-round...just sayin'!

Looking forward to your dies taking the stage!

HLS Stencil Challenge ~ Anything Goes...Witching You a Happy Halloween Cauldron (TE Create in Quads Halloween)

Hello,

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers November 2022 Stencil Challenge, where Anything Goes is always the theme. Let your stencils be the star of the stage!

After receiving Taylored Expression's "Falling for You" triple mini slim stencil as part of the recent Crop and Create Delivered event, I *had* to have more! Today, I'm showcasing one of my cards using the Create-in-Quads Halloween stencil (yes, I know Halloween has passed, but I know of a challenge that invites Halloween cards/projects year round! Going for it whenever I can).. Soooo cool! The backgrounds are fabulous and the bonus: dies to cut out two of the images - a cat and a cauldron. Loads of possibilities!
Sentiment is from MCT.

Looking forward to seeing your stencil makes in the gallery.

NOTE: Honoured to be selected as a Top 3 Winner at Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge (Dec. 1, 2022)

Just Us Girls Challenge ##657 ~ Fence...Witching You A Happy Halloween

Hello,

It's been a cold, snowy week here in Alberta; winter has arrived!

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #657, where our lovely Bobby has selected *Fence* as this week's word inspiration.

We're delighted to welcome incredibly talented Karren Johnson as our November guest designer; guaranteed you'll *woof* her card!

No fence dies in my collection, so I decided to improvise with a MCT bats rosette die and a strip of striped paper. A fancy fence for my Photoplay Monster Mash Halloween characters.  If I can 'fake' a fence, I'm sure you can too, if fences aren't part of your stash.

Looking forward to seeing how *fence* inspires you!

Thank you for dropping by!

HLS Christmas Challenge November 2022 ~ Anything Goes (optional: Santa)...Ho Ho Ho (MCT products)

Hello,

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers November 2022 Christmas Challenge, where Anything Goes, with an optional twist which, this month, is Santa. I can't believe it's November already! I'm sure Santa and his elves are madly rushing about, getting things done for soon-to-be-here Christmas.

A big ol' Ho Ho Ho sentiment paired with cute Santa paper...I think I've covered the bases with the twist!

Looking forward to seeing your Christmas cards/projects - with or without the twist - in the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

HLS Birthday Challenge November 2022 ~ Anything Goes...November Birthday (C & 9th Retro Petals Turnabout, All Year Long stamps and EC month die)

Hello,

Apparently, I'm on a name-the-month birthday theme! My Concord & 9th Retro Petals turnabout was out for another card so I decided, why not make it two. I used some fall-ish colours for the petals and some matchy-matchy cardstock for the panel. Not sure why my die-cut November (Elizabeth Craft Designs) is blurry; perhaps because the cardstock is textured. Oh well...it's not blurry in real life *grin*

Looking forward to your birthday cards filling the gallery!

Color Hues Challenge #52 ~ Mustard and Turquoise...For You (C & 9th Retro Petals Turnabout and Tulip)

Hello,

And here we are...November 1st...and with it, a new challenge at Colour Hues. Our talented Hannelie invites us to use hues of Turquoise and Mustard as inspiration for the next two weeks. Such a pretty combination, with so many possibilities.

We also have Arlene joining us as our Guest Designer. Welcome!

Beautiful colour pairing but yes...I did find it challenging. Whenever that happens, however, it's usually easily resolved with one of my Concord & 9th turnabout stamps. This time, Retro Petals was the stamp of choice, paired with the accompanying stamps and a little C & 9th tulip. A couple of turquoise inks and one mustard (double stamped for the deeper colour) did the trick. The tag is from MCT.

Looking forward to seeing your Mustard and Turquoise makes!
