Just Us Girls Challenge #555~Photo Inspiration Week...Starry Halloween

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #555, where this week's prompt may have you reaching for your stars...or stripes...or polka-dots...or numbers (I just realized the stars are shaped like a seven; wish I'd recognized that earlier!). This seemingly 'simple' image is laden with possibilities.

Last week in September (where did the month go?) means this is our final week with our awesome guest designer, Lindsey. Thank you, my friend, for sharing your fabulous creativity with us this month; we'll miss having you joining us on a weekly basis!  Your finale is a festive starry delight!

If you have a chance to leave comments for Lindsey as well as the rest of the team - Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa, and Maria - that would be a real treat.

So, this delightful star photo posed challenging for me and after several 'literal' attempts (having failed to see the *7* until today *palm smack on forehead*), I decided to just 'reach for the stars' a la Halloween style, and let them fall where they may....

Fun to use up those snippets of patterned paper that I can't seem to toss!

Looking forward to seeing your takes on the photo - stars or not - in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #222~Word Prompt...Happiest of Birthdays and Wonderful Day (MFT Sky-High Bears, Balloons and Bunnies)

Hello!

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #222, where our word prompt is DAY! Talk about possibilities, right!

The MFT Sky High card kit has been such a joy to play with; today I'm sharing one of several cards I made featuring the sweet bunnies, bears and balloons. I'm not sure why my white embossed sentiment is appearing as 'faded'; in real life, it's bright and crisp (which in and of itself is odd for me *grin*).

Hope these cuties make your day a bit more wonderful!

My wonderful teammates have interpreted DAY in the most amazing ways. Please visit and leave them some love, which I know will be deeply appreciated:

Just Us Girls Challenge #554~Colour Week...Just a Note Diamonds and Mini Florals

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #554 where, as this week's hostess, I'm inviting you to use a pretty palette of pink, green and blue on your cards/projects. As you can see, I'm still hanging on to summery colours!

Once again, we're delighted to have Lindsey joining us with a lovely ink-blended + silhouette card! I'm sure you'll enjoy gazing at and admiring her pretty design, as well as all the fabulous creations by the rest of the team: SueAngieVickiInaBobbyNancyLisaMaria and Cécile. If you have a chance to leave comments, that would be a real treat.

A simple card from me using the sweet little blooms and pretty diamonds from Pinkfresh Studio. A little note that, I hope, will brighten someone's day.

Your turn!
Looking forward to how pink, green and blue speak to you!  See you in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Uniko September/October Challenge #61~Anything Goes (optional twist: Thanks)...Peony Hello Slimline

Hello,

Welcome to Uniko Challenge #61, where the theme is always *Anything Goes* with, this month, the optional twist of Thanks. Given how close we are to Thanksgiving here in Canada (seriously...where has the time gone. Don't answer...we know!), it's certainly a most fitting option.

We are delighted to welcome Ishani as our Guest Designer. Her autumn card is stunning!

For my card, I went with Anything Goes but selected some of the bold colours from the Thanks image for my palette. At play is the peony spray from Hello Lovely, which I paired with a die cut Hello from my collection.  As I did with a previous Uniko Peony card, I drew colouring inspiration from Yana's Blending Free style. I just love the results and, especially, the 'less-stress' aspect of using markers to colour florals in this fashion!

Turning the stage over to you!

As always, Bev is offering prizes:

THE PRIZES
  • Main Winner Chosen By the DT - £15 eGift Certificate
  • Random Twist Winner - £5 eGift Certificate
  • Random Uniko Stamps Winner - £5 eGift Certificate
  • Top 3 Chosen By DT - 150 Loyalty Reward Points

You have plenty of time to join thc challenge; the link will close
at midnight (GMT) on Friday 23rd October 2020.

Thank you for dropping by!

The Color Hues Challenge #2~Navy & Turquoise...Starry Proud of You

Hello,

Before I share the new challenge, I have to highlight that we had 61 gorgeous cards in the gallery: SIXTY-ONE!  Thank you for embracing this concept so enthusiastically...and let's keep the momentum going...and going...and going!

Welcome to The Colour Hues Challenge #2, where we're inviting you to use hues of Navy and Turquoise.

Since I'm obsessed with slimlines and with Concord & 9th products, I created a second card pairing both; this time, using the Star Turnabout Bundle. While the majority of stars are stamped, I decided that a few gaps needed to be filled; the stars die and some mirror cardstock did the trick (I haven't used that paper in ages! Glad I remembered it!).  I added sentiments from Simon Says and Studio Katia.  Sending this to my nephew; just as a reminder of how awesome I think he is!

Please visit the rest of the team; you'll be sooooo impressed by their creativity:

Now: YOUR TURN! Looking forward to seeing your hues of Navy and Turquoise in the gallery!

The challenge is open until 9:00 AM (EST) Sept. 29th and the winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge goes live on October 1st.

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #553~Trend Week (Cut into Thirds)...Halloween Slimline Trio

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #553 where, for this week's trend, our lovely hostess, Nancy, is inviting us to cut our cards into thirds.  Such fun, especially when you can use thirds in so many different ways.

Once again, we're delighted to have Lindsey joining us with a most 'spooktacular' thirds card! I'm sure you'll enjoy gazing at and admiring her clever card, as well as all the fabulous creations by the rest of the team: Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa, Maria and Cécile. If you have a chance to leave comments, that would be a real treat.

Given that I am completely incapable of cutting anything straight, I resorted to using slimline and edge dies for some much needed guidance. I cut three full panels from Simple Stories Halloween patterned papers, taped them together and, using the angle edge die, cut all three at once. I adhered each piece onto a plain cardstock backing and ta dahhhh...three Halloween cards done! A few of the stickers/ephemera from the same set rounded out the theme.  I may become a real fan of this trend, especially given that it's so easy to create 'three-fers'!

That's it from me! Looking forward to seeing your cut-into-thirds trend in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #221~Photo...Happy Birthday (P13 Happy Birthday-themed cards)

Hello!

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #221, where we're inviting you to draw inspiration from the photo below.

Have to say, I feel sorry for the birthday boy, who appears to be celebrating all on his own. Looks like the table is set in anticipation of guests, but evidently his 'friends' didn't get the invitation! Poor kid!

Sooooo, I'm going to pretend that three friends will be joining him...late ...bringing with them a coordinated ensemble of cards featuring P13 Happy Birthday papers/tags.  These papers are ohmystars awesome and, for this challenge, the whimsical images and colours seemed a good fit (at least I think so). Then again, maybe I just wanted an excuse to play with this designer paper *grin*

Card 1: OUTSIDE: Here, I've used the Lawn Fawn Lift the Flap slimline. Connections to the photo include: banner pattern on the paper, yellow from flowers, blue from balloons, kraft as a nod to the furniture...

INSIDE:  Inside, images speak to the photo's birthday theme.

Card 2:  I played with a slimline from Mama Elephant....

Cards 3 & 4: Purse Cards using Concord & 9th's Everyday Purse dies (made these a while back and finally had a 'reason' to share them.  Those papers/tags...love! I will now be hoarding the rest of the package!

The completed ensemble:

Hope these cards made you smile; hope they cheer up the birthday boy!

My wonderful teammates have interpreted the photo in the most amazing ways. Please visit and leave them some love, which I know will be deeply appreciated:

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #552~Word Week....October Birthday (Leaves)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #552, where our lovely Sue has selected *Leaves* as this week's word prompt.  Given that Fall is making its presence known here, this is certainly a timely theme!

A new month means a new guest designer and I'm beside myself excited that we're welcoming my friend and fellow Canadian, Lindsey, to the JUGS family for August! I'm sure you've seen Lindsey's incredible creativity, delightful personality and keen sense-of-humour on many occasions, as she's on several design teams (Seize the Birthday, Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and, most recently, The Colour Hue Challenge, where we're teammates, to name a few). Her leaf card: dazzling! I'm sure you'll enjoy gazing at and admiring her lovely card, as well as all the beautiful creations by the rest of the team: Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa, Maria and Cécile. If you have a chance to leave comments, that would be a real treat.

Yep...another slimline from me (bought a bunch of dies, so gotta use 'em!) featuring stamps/dies from Concord & 9th.  I'm thinking that birthday cards for each month might make a nice gift set; need to get on that!

That's it from me! Looking forward to seeing how you'll 'gather leaves' on your cards/projects!

The Color Hues Challenge #1~Yellow/Green...Have a Wonderful Day Kites

Hello,

I'm absolutely giddy with delight to welcome you to the launch of The Colour Hues Challenge #1, where our lovely Nancy has selected hues of Yellow and Green as inspiration!

Before I share my card, I'll echo Nancy's message: thank you for your enthusiastic, sweet comments in response to the new challenge! So appreciated! And to my 'new' teammates: I'm thrilled and honoured to be designing alongside you!

Okay...let's roll!

My love for slimline cards continues, and for this opening challenge, I paired it with another love: Concord & 9th products! I figured out how to use their recent Kite Strings turnabout stamp on a slimline panel (a bit tricky, but love the result...and the possibilities with other turnabouts!) and added a die cut kite from the bundle. A variety of yellow/green inks and papers and ta dahhhh...a card that I hope will make someone's day wonderful!

Please visit the rest of the team; you'll be sooooo impressed by their creativity:

Now: YOUR TURN! Looking forward to seeing your hues of Yellow and Green in the gallery!

The challenge is open until 9:00 AM (EST) Sept. 14th and the winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge goes live.
