Flutter, Flower and Frame...CAS(E) this Sketch #34

Yes, I've been making cards, but my heat oppressed - and suppressed - thinking sees me dilly-dallying with posting them.  Due dates are looming, and here I am, playing around with Feedly, going on extended blog-land expeditions, on-line window-shopping (heading to the US soon...may *have* to make some decisions to about a whole whack of couple of purchases from my wish novel list), sweltering and melting (add 'meltdowns' to that...my husband deserves a reward for enduring "my" heat issues...), and so on...Oh yes, I've also been practicing colouring.  Results:  need more practice.  Actually, plenty more, especially since I have some distress markers headed my way!

Anyway, quick post for yet another attempt at a *cas* card for CAS(E) this Sketch #34.  Perhaps not a 'lot' of white space evident on this (I could only get away with making smaller cards for 'so long') but I tried something else new-ish for me: stamping a floral border, as a 'next step' to the cas rules:  aiming for one layer.  Of course, I went with more than that, but...well, the learning curve is a long one for me.  Little, teensy, gradual steps (with the occasion retreat happening...).

Here's the CAS(E) sketch:

and my very simply-made card (flowers and frames are my 'fixation' once again...)

On stage:  PS Duo Die, Flap Happy die and stamps, Friendly Flowers and, because I
wanted something other than floral patterns, some Bo Bunny Family Is paper...

Thanks so much for dropping by; please let me know you did!  Your comments add sparkle to my days!!

That darn heat can really take it's toll when we're not used to it. I personally think it stinks! And my behaviour is about them same as yours as I drag myself through it!
But what's causing me to melt right now is your card - fab-u-lous! That stamped border is so trendy looking - I love that you did it in grey - it totally highlights the awesome punch of colour in the vertical panel! The hint of teal in the flower centre and on the butterflies wing really ties this all together! The white in the back makes it look so clean and pretty. Sigh...just perfect!

C, I think you are amazing! Love your take on the sketch. Such pretty colours and I love the dimension too. Glad to hear you are still practising your colouring. Hope the heat isn't too unbearable for you. I'll trade you just a bit of your heat (just a bit, mind you! ;) ) for some of our cold. Hope you have a great day!

Hi C,
I stumbled across this site just now. You should seriously think of submitting something (if you haven't already).

I am sorry for your misery...but reading blogs and playing with wish novels is a good way to try to escape!! And your cheerful flower and butterfly MUST have helped you feel better. (FYI: I have never made it to the world of one-layer CAS cards!)

Very sweet card! Sorry about the sweltering, meltering, meltdown issue. It's been cool here...until today...the air will go on later or I won't be able to sleep tonight. One good solution for the heat is more smoothies! Frozen grapes are nice too! Love the dp you've used on your frame, and the flower and butterfly in yellows. Keep practicing with those markers...I know I am. You'll get it before you know it! Have fun with family. Bev

It's a darling card, Carol! I think it's great that you are aiming towards CAS, but the most important thing is that you find that spot in the card artistry spectrum where you are most comfortable and develop and revel in "your" style. That's not to say you can't venture out of that comfort zone, but they don't call it "comfort" zone for nothing! I hope the weather cools off for you soon! I can so relate! This is spose to be our last day in triple digits. Yippee!!

Thank you for the birthday wishes! If you don't put your date on your side bar, please let me know when it is!! xxoo Darnell

Gaspingly gorgeous, Carol ... love the subtle border, the delicious pops of colour in the frame and those wonderfully dimensional PS elements! Best way to stay cool ... imagine (very hard) that you're sitting on an iceberg ... just try it, you'll see! Anita :)
