Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #714, where our wonderful hostess, Ina, has chosen a selection of fabulous images for this week's Mood Board inspiration. If you're a fan of all things purple/teal, blended, textured or ocean-themed, this one's definitely for you. Lots of possibilities beyond "just" seashells...
We are, once again, delighted to have Denise Morgans joining us as our February Guest Designer.
Living on the prairies and not being much of a beach-destination traveler, my ocean experiences are few and far between. Add to that my fear of vast expanses of water (no cruises for me. Nope!) and the net result is a sparse collection of things sea-themed. I do, however, have a lovely mermaid set so I dressed her, the waves, the bubbles, the seaweed and starfish on gold matte cardstock and let them play on this pretty panel of Craft Consortium paper. Purples + blues + 'waves' + a mermaid; I think I did okay in connecting with the mood board. Hope you think so, too.

I thought the mermaid and the background die were on brushed gold cardstock! The kraft looks fabulous! Your bathroom is obviously inspired by the moodboard and is gorgeous! Great card girl!

This is so perfect for the Moodboard! I love that beautiful background paper, perfect choice. Your mermaid is so pretty as the main focus paired with the scales die cut, the coral, starfish and bubbles. I love this!

Carol...loving how you put this card together! The background DSP is perfect and I so love the mermaid in gold. Great choices. I am laughing though at your distancing yourself from the ocean. Please know you are always welcome to visit me. I do live directly on the ocean in a boating community. I love watching the water (maybe not in a hurricane). I watch the yachts coming and going... as well as the dolphins and manatees. I love watching the tides. AND cruises are just fun.
Oh Carol, one would never know that you are not a sea lover and mermaid at heart! This card I absolutely fantastic! I love that paper in the background, and the gold die cuts could not be more perfect. Love the solid oval that your mermaid is glued to. I love everything about this, and I AM a lover of all things oceanic!
You did more than okay, Carol. That background is lovely and all the gold accents, including the mermaid, really catch the eye.
