Summer Treats...AAA Cards #15~Enjoy Summer Foods, 4 Crafty Chicks #207: Pink, Turquoise and LIme

Hello!

A rainy, cool Saturday yesterday; perfect conditions to spend the day at my craft counter, trying to catch up on my Stretch Your Stamps 2 homework (some epic fails with trying to make a wreath a la the style of Julie Ebersole...issues with 'random' stamping...).  In so doing, however, I totally missed posting my very simple, yet fun-to-make card for AAA Cards #15: Enjoy Summer Foods challenge

with a colourful 'treat' inspired by the talented team over at 4 Crafty Chicks #207: Pink, Turquoise and Lime

Except for the sentiment, all die cuts. Yayyyy....

This leads me to an announcement: in an effort to keep my last remaining nerve intact, the distress inks/markers and I have decided we need a separation to determine exactly what our future relationship, if any, holds.  Aside from some sponging visits, we're having nothing to do with one another, particularly water-colouring!  A de-stress from distress is required! Truly, they're fabulous products, but right about now the land of Enough is Enough has been reached.  We'll likely reconcile at some point, but for now, I'm focusing on dies and 'normal' inks for a bit. Feeling a bit rusty (as the simplicity of this card shows), but I'll get back into a groove...Happy, happy, happy me...

We're volunteering at a casino all day (blech). On the plus side, if we have internet connections, comment catch-up time!!

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!

You had me LOL at your separation comment. A good thing to do, let the technique settle into the subconsious for a bit and then revisit down the line - been there done that. No need to get more frustrated and distressed - good call :) Love that ice cream cone - and now have a serious craving for some!! Wonderful bright colours and love how you embossed them!

Oh, this ice cream looks so yummy! Love those drips falling down (on your card, not in real life - then it's not fun when the ice cream drips...)!

Random stamping issues?!! YOU AND ME BOTH!! It should be so simple, right?! So why does it FAIL every time?!! And those dang distress inks, aptly named for the stress they're causing you!! BUT, have a look back at all the amazing creations you have made with them!!! One look and you will kiss and make up, I'm sure! Always nice to mix it up a bit though, and I love the sweet little ice cream card!! Fun, colourful and oh so sweet! Casino volunteer time has arrived, huh...UGH :( !!! I'm feeling for you ;) !!!

Your sense of humour hasn't been affected by those *D*inks, Carol, despite the frustration ... had a chuckle at your description of your current relationship with them! Worry not, all will be good in due time! What a fun card ... such yummy looking ice cream ... and the sentiment ... oh yes, happiness! Hugs, Anita :)

Well, if it make you feel any better, I don't own and never have owned any Distress Inks! So there! Give me my plain stamps and dies and I'm one happy lady!! haha! I have found if I get to much "stuff" and try to do too many techniques, I get all confused and don't even know what to do. I can be quite creative with the basics :) Now after that speech.. haha!! Your card is adorable!!! Who needs distress??? That ice cream cone is darling! I love the texture and the sentiment stamped along the side!! It screams fun, on and ice cream!! haha! ((Hugs))

Oh wow - I love your colors and your textures and your drips!!! Separation is not a bad thing. You sound like me. I do have distress inks which never come out. Even knowing that, I still recently bought other watercolors to try all of the fabulous techniques. They haven't been used either. I just wish that I'd learn before I made the purchase!!

There is nothing simple about this card Carol, it is fabulous!! I love the texture you gave the ice cream and of course the drips are just fabulous. It sure look yummy too!! lol I don't own the Distress markers, but feel your pain. Crafting shouldn't be stressful and if separation is what it takes then do it and go back and enjoy what makes you happy! I enjoy all you do, so I'm always looking forward to seeing your cards and of course pinning them so I can CASE them. lol I hope the volunteering went well at the casino! Hugs, Brenda

Oh Carol, I fear you are being too hard on yourself with regards the distress inks/markers. You've always been so good with them. BUT, I completely understand and respect your need to step away for a while. Sometimes that is just the best step to take. This card is AMAZING! The colours, the texture, the design - you are amazing! :)
