This will be my last post as a member of the awesome Serendipity Stamps Design Team. A huge THANK YOU to Mary, for believing in me, and allowing me the opportunity to showcase her fantastic products. To Beth, Patti, Miriam, Julie, Vickie and Marybeth: such an honour to play alongside you. Your creative expressions have spoken loud and clear to me on many occasions; you are, each and every one, incredibly talented and wonderfully inspiring. I will miss you, but...I know where to find you! *grin* To all the wonderful visitors who have commented on my Serendipity posts: your encouragement is deeply appreciated! You sure know how to lift spirits!

Today, I'm sharing a card that was remarkably quick to create, which is precisely what we need at this time, and, in my view, rather pretty. All the credit goes to Mary: the products did 110% of the work!

Love the sketchy trio of trees and mistletoe. The fonts...only fabulous! (Apologies for the 'pink' hue of my photos - after 75 tries, I did the best I could with what I had! Professional photographer required!)

Quick and easy to make...and when time's whooshing as fast as it is, sometimes that's precisely what we need!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year & Merry Christmas...Inkspirational Challenge #147~Trend

On this cold, snowy morning, I'm happy to join my fabulous team

- Sandie, Shauna, Marina, Yvonne, Nonni -

and our talented guest designer, Linda, with a warm - very warm! - invitation to join us at Inkspirational Challenge #147~Trend. Talk about opening a door of possibilities, right?

Trends in card-making are plentiful - be they images, such as unicorns and mermaids, or techniques, such as smooshing and watercolouring, or 'little additions for that extra special touch, such as Nuvo Drops and sequins. Since my mind is on Christmas right now (out of necessity!!), I went for a wander around the blog-iverse, to see what trends caught my eye. Out of the many that did (Santas, elves, starry skies, snowflakes...) I went with one that's both pretty and, for the most part, fairly easy: creating your own background (plus, I wanted to play with some new goodies *grin*).

A simple way to create a background: embossing folders. Lovin' these pine needles (Richard Garay) and, with the addition of a sentiment and a trio of Nuvo Drops, you have a card made in a matter of minutes...

A new illustrator has created a new line of stamps at Serendipity Stamps and I'm ever so lucky to have both sets: Happy Holidays and For Unto Us. The sketched images and fonts of the sentiments...swooning! The mistletoe makes such a pretty background...and those of you far more talented that I, will see all kinds of possibilities with this set. I'm happy with this rather simple rendition, even if the copic colouring took a bit of time, as I'm still learning...

I made two, and even though they're identical, both *needed* to have their photo taken...

That's it from me; heading off into the wintry chill to officiate a bike race today - and tomorrow. Current temperature is -19C. Great. Anyway, fun times to be had, even though I'll be transformed into an ice cube...

I Love Snow...Serendipity Stamps November Blog Hop (#1)

When you browse the Serendipity store, you'll see a range of new products, one of which is this adorable Snowman on Skis. How cute is he, dressed in his cross-country skiing duds. In fact, his outfit resembles what I wear when we embark on the trails - of course, I have ski pants and at least a big 'ol parka on, as well! Coloured him with prisma pencils - trying to practice what I'm learning in my Kit and Clowder classes. He'd be just as sweet left outline-stamped only (for those of us who might not like/want to colour), with some fancy patterned paper surrounding him. May need to test that hypothesis at some point. A bit of embossing (we'll consider that the snow terrain he's coasting through) and an I Love Snow sentiment...and done. A little something for a skier in your life...

Is October zipping along as quickly for you as it is for me? We're less than two weeks from Halloween; time to stock up on candy for the trick-or-treating kiddos...and my husband! Pumpkin to be carved, a few decorations to put up and yes...Halloween cards to make. Speaking of which... BOO!

Today, I'm sharing a die cuts only card that will going to one of my niece or nephew's teachers. Those ghosts are way too cute...er, spooky!

For my two munchkins, I masked and inked some panels for them to colour! Isn't that little witch adorable? The cauldron, bubbly delightful? The moon and swirls, sensational? Yes, I thought you'd agree!*grin* I'll be taking these with us on the weekend...something relaxing to work on betwixt and between all their activities. And yes, I'll post photos!

Today, my card features the 50% off stamp-of-the-month: Autumn Chair, coloured on kraft with prisma pencils and paired with the sweet Thanks (small) sentiment. A deep brown panel and...ta dahhh...a Fall thank you card ready to go!

I enjoyed trying out some colour blends on the pumpkin...with the net result leading to cravings for pumpkin spice muffins and pumpkin pie, not to mention ideas for getting a wreath for the front door! Some shopping and, perhaps baking, on my list!

Before I send you off, I'd like to share the following news regarding our sweet teammate, Marybeth Lopez:

We are all saddened to learn that Marybeth's son-in-law was shot three times in the Las Vegas act of terror. Marybeth and her husband were watching their daughter and son-in-law's six children so that the parents could have a getaway on their own for the first time. He had surgery to address his injuries and will be needing more. Marybeth has asked for your prayers and positive thoughts for her son-in-law's recovery. Thank you so much.

Actually, the first 'sign' of autumn's arrival for me: wearing my long-johns and winter coat at the two bike races we officiated at over the weekend. Brrrr...

Along with pumpkin spice everythings and cozy sweaters and fuzzy leggings, Fall also brings about a couple of my favourite occasions, with the first being Halloween (second being Thanksgiving - early in Canada, and third, my brother's and husband's birthdays, in October and November, respectively). I'm not a Halloween *fanatic* - we give out candy for sure -but I fall head-over-heels with it as an *excuse* to make cards, tags and mini cards for my niece and nephew, their classmates, their teachers and their friends. It's also justifies the many Halloween products that have been accumulating(how does that happen *grin*) in my collection...love cute spooky stuff!

That said, today, I'm sharing Serendipity's Pumpkin Tower with you. Aren't these jack o'lanterns sooooo scary? HA! NOT! Inked, clear embossed, water-coloured with...are you ready...Crayola water-colour paints (channeling my inner child *grin* AND they kinda sorta worked for me!), fussy cut and set atop a web. I used a 'boo' that I've had for ages, source unknown, and ta dahhhhh...another Halloween card for one of Miss T's or Mr. C's teachers.

Leaves Reverse Die, Happy Birthday

The warm (and later this week HOT) temperatures of Summer continue to linger, but Fall is starting to make 'sneak' appearances in the cool air that descends overnight and the changing colour of the leaves. As much as I don't want Summer to end, I do love Autumn's palette, which influenced my cards today....

My next two cards use the same image; one for those who might not want to colour and one for those who do. This fabulous Rake image - which is 50% off this month! - is lovely either way. No sentiment, which 'leaves' them open for any occasion...

Summer Flower Pops Solid Stamps and Dies

Summer has certainly made its presence known here, with unusually hot temperatures and, of course, accompanying thunderstorms. We've had a few doozies! The rain is very much needed, as we are 'this close' to drought conditions. A few days of gentle drizzle would certainly help lawns and gardens, both veggie and floral...

Speaking of floral: that's precisely the nature of my card today and in pink, to boot! I sponged the background panel with Spun Sugar distress ink, then stamped the flowers with Mama Elephant Bubblegum pigment ink and the leaves with Mojito. A gift set using this design could be easily made; simply change up the colours, the flower selections and the sentiment. Serendipity Stamps make this soooooo easy!
