Hello,
Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #569 where Lisa has selected Masking as her selection for Wild Card Week.
A huge *thank you* to Carol McFarland and Melanie Hungerford for sharing their amazing creativity and beautiful cards over the past five weeks; you've been wonderfully inspiring! Your masking finales are delightful, as are those by my teammates. To those visiting my blog: if you have a chance to drop in and leaving a comment on our guests and the JUGS designers' sites, that would be greatly appreciated.
Masking! Sighhh....not my strong suite, based on the 926 messed up versions that fed my recycle bin. Finally, I decided to go with a most basic technique which meant - *true confession* - using a masking stencil to ink a section of my card base. Over the background, I used a hearts stencil to add a bit of interest. Die cut hearts and an XOXO = done! I'm happy with the way this turned out, even if it's simply simple!
That's it from me; looking forward to seeing your masking marvels in the gallery!

Beautiful, love filled card Carol! Whatever works is the best method to take, right? Right! So sorry you had some technical difficulties, but I sure admire your perseverance! Look at the beauty that resulted! :) Thanks so much for sharing. Crafty hugs!
Love your sweet card!!! It's perfect!
I totally love this! I love those soft hearts on the background with those layered hearts with the xoxo! Fabulous creation, glad you toughed it out.
Pretty card -- I like you did a different version of masking - it worked well :)
This is so pretty Carol. I love the softness of the hearts and the way you framed it in. You did a great job...don't listen to your inner self! Have a great day!
Love those colourful background hearts Carol. Perfect for the layered hearts and xoxo. You did a great job here.
So pretty, and a great way to use masking! Thanks for letting me join you as a guest designer for January, will see you in future challenges.
Hey, masking is masking! You did a great job with the technique. Love the look you achieved! Pretty card!
It's a stencil, you used it, it's all good! And you made a sweet card in the process!
It helps those who enter our challenges to know different ways to mask, Carol, and when the card turns out as lovely as this one they will definitely be inspired. I love the ombre look of the hearts.
