Nearly bedtime, but before I *try* to sleep (restless nights...grrr), a couple of floral cards to share. Perhaps dreaming of fields of flowers and butterflies will lull me to the Land of Nod...worth a try!
Heading to CAS(E) this Sketch #113 (with a wee adaptation, yet quite literal),
is my purple and green tulip Hello card. I placed my tulip bloom just over the edge...hoping they'd 'replicate' (sort of the) the banner flags. I know, a stretch, but aren't those little stamens (thank you wikipedia for jolting my memory..should have taken biology in school!) cute? My leave look yellow; they are not. They are Pear Tart green. I need more shades of green ink (wish list amended).
My clean and layered card, below, draws inspiration form The Card Concept #30~Thinking of You
It's my first effort at using 'layered' floral stamps (and masking, too), designed by our darling Bev over at Uniko:
I think we all agree: time for Spring and the beautiful blooms it brings...
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
Ah! I see what you did there Carol ! Such a clever little twist!
Thanks for joining us at CTS!
Good morning sweetie, I am so loving the colours you have chosen for these gorgeous creations :0) Hugs Pops x
Very pretty, your spring flower cards! Hope they did help you to sleep...
I love the contrasting feel of the two cards - graphic and perky for the first, and classic and elegant for the second! Lovely!
These are so pretty! I love the pop of purple and polka dot purple :)
You've sent my clean & simple loving heart into a flutter! I'm soooo in love with your purple Hello card and how cleverly creative you were in interpreting the sketch! You definitely will NOT be going to Sketch Jail for this wee tweak of the design layout. In fact, I'd bet that it will be the Winner's Circle!
Card two....seriously your first attempt at layering and masking? Wow, Carol...this is amazing work! Beautiful colors - love the contrast of the light and dark shades and your perfectly balance design!
You're on fire girl!
Yay for those stamens! Darling take on the sketch - just so clean and fresh - even if quite literal, they are fabulous in full color!!
Love that purple!! And the layered flowers turned out beautifully. Two more wonderful cards for your stash, Carol.
1. Love how you stretched the sketch.
2. Love that colour scheme - purple and juicy lime green.

Two beautiful bloom-filled cards, Carol. Love the purple tulip with it's head popping above the panel ... very creative and clever interpretation of the sketch. And your masked and layered pink and yellow blooms are so pretty. Great font for the sentiment. Loll xx
My goodness, girl...you can create a flower card for my 'eyes' anytime! I LOVE your purple tulip with the matching polka dot papers and stitching so much, and your masked blooms are so elegant! Two stunning cards, Carol!!!
May I ask...which company sells the tulip?
Love your cards, Carol! I never take time to mask, but your card shows why I should!
Well goodness, two absolutely delightful cards. Love the colors in each. I cannot believe that this was your first masking attempt. You are a pro! Thank you for sharing such lovely eye candy. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. :)
DANG GIRL!!!! Two WWCD cards here! LOVE them. Your purple tulip is sooo sweet, and the little stamens peeking over the edge qualify perfectly in my book. After all, the edges of your tulip are the exact right shape. And your CCC card is just plain stunning. Your layered blossoms are perfectly executed, and really pretty. Love this duo! Bev
OK, me and flowers - total love affair! Probably because I don't have the real thing at home. My cat eats them. No, seriously. Or she is getting a high from sniffing them, so that my roses or tulips are in pieces after just one night. Therefore: your cards are such a delight. Love the CAS style of the first one, but the warm colors and layout of the second one have my heart fluttering. Prettyness overload!
Wow!!! Stunning cards!! I love the purple tulip, so elegant and graphic!! And pink and yellow flowers are gorgeous!! Fabulous cards!!
Fabulous cards, Carol! I love your perfect take on the sketch! And your floral card is beautiful!
wow you did a superb job with the Uniko flowers-love this layout and colours. The tulip card is a stunner-the tulip popping over the top is like it is in a vase-love it!
Gosh! These are lovely, Carol. I love how you've framed the focal image and left plenty of white space. I could ever do that... I see white space as potential for clutter and then I lose myself. Got to watch and learn from you!
Stunning cards love the colour inspiration on this last one, great layouts and colouring. Gail xx
Both are so pretty!
Well, dang, I wish I had seen this post before I posted mine. So THAT'S what those gorgeous Uniko blooms are supposed to look like?! They are stunning, Carol! I'll know better for next time I use mine. I also love your darling tulip card!! Hugs, Darnell
Love taking a sketch literally :) And the added bonus of my favorite flower on it makes it doubly wonderful! You use those stitched borders to perfect every time too :) A lovely taste of spring today indeed.
Sweet purple bloom, Carol, so striking and bold and pretty ... and such fabulous layered flowers ... just beautiful! Hugs, Anita :)
