Color Hues Challenge #137 - Black and Red - Congrats, You Did It Hockey (Ronron Designs Rice Paper)

Hello,

Welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #137 where Julie P invites us to play with hues of Black and Red for the next two weeks. Julie is in the midst of settling into her new home, so our wonderful leader, Nancy, is taking the lead as hostess.

We're delighted to have two talented crafters joining us as Guest Designers for this challenge: Joanne James and Julia Aston.

The focal image on my card,  made with rice paper, hails from Canadian company Ronron Designs. The rice paper is an easy medium to work with for a variety of purposes: cards, journals, albums, glass, canvas...and so much more.  They're expanding their line to include stamps, stencils and papers, alongside new rice paper images.  My cart is rapidly filling up.

I've added a Taylored Expressions' sentiment, secretly hoping it will be to congratulate my nephew for earning a spot on a high level team. Tryouts happening soon.  Fingers crossed!

Please visit the main blog to see fabulous Black and Red inspiration from our guests and my wonderfully talented team.
Looking forward to seeing how this combination sparks your creativity.

The challenge will be open until July 29th at 9AM.

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall
winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Thank you for dropping by!

What a great card using the colors Carol! LOVE that wonderful hockey figure - SO full of action and in the red/black colors - and perfect for your nephew who aspires to be a professional player! I'll cross my fingers for him as well!! I was so excited to join you and the rest of the DT this month! Julia xx

Fabulous job with the colors and such a great young man's card. I was wondering, if your nephew was still playing hockey and you answered that for me. Best of luck to him on his upcoming tryouts!

Rice paper is tricky from my experience with it so I'm especially impressed with this guy! He has the Carolina Hurricanes colors too, so I'm loving this! I'm sure your nephew will love this as much as I do and I hope he makes the team!

A fab masculine take on the colours Carol. I have a few rice papers that a friend brought me back from Japan, though they are a tad more flowery than your example! I really must use them. :)

What a spectacular image of an ice hockey player! He looks fabulous framed in the red oval and let's hope the sentiment comes true for your nephew. Fabulous card, Carol!
