Color Hues Challenge #25~Yellow and Orange (First Year Celebration)...PFS Stenciled Butterfly Thank You

Hello,

Whoosh...and suddenly it's September! The summer passed so quickly, even though the days upon days of heat and smoke seemed to linger for ages. Now, the mornings are cooler, the evening comes earlier and the leaves - already - are beginning to don their Fall flair. While I'm happy that we're not experiencing the +30C temperatures, I'm not quite ready to embrace the change of seasons just yet. I want time to slow down a bit!

On a super positive note, though, September brings some very exciting news here at Colour Hues: the celebration of our One Year Anniversary! What, may you ask, does this celebration entail?
  • First, a fabulous new challenge, where Karen is inviting us to play with hues of yellow and orange for the next two weeks.
  • Second, a fabulous prize for TWO Winners, who will each receive a Simon Says Stamp Gift certificate for $25.00. Talk about incentive to play along!
  • Third, a warm welcome to our newest member of the design team: Tracey McNeely from In My Creative Opinion fame. We're thrilled that Tracey will be sharing her amazing creativity with all of us.
So...that said, here's my card: a compilation of older/new Pinkfresh Studio stencils/dies and a Stamp Market sentiment. The butterfly is blended with Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Crackling Campfire, with Mustard Seed carrying on into the background.

I opted for a Thank You card to express gratitude to my wonder teammates and to all of you,
our participants, who have embraced this challenge with such enthusiasm and creativity!
YOU have made this celebration possible!

Please visit our talented lineup of designers, then join us in the gallery!

Angie - Guest Designer

This challenge will be open until September 14th @ 9AM!

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge goes live.
The TWO overall winners will have the opportunity to be
future Guest Designers!

Thank you for dropping by!

Well, how fun for all of you! Someday I might just get into challenges, but in the meantime, I thoroughly enjoy seeing what you create for them, Carol. This is a beauty with that fabulous butterfly and the wonderful stenciled background. The sentiment is a perfect touch. Thanks so much for sharing. Congrats on the success of the challenge and here's to many more years of it!

Such a lovely thought Carol, thank YOU for your fab inspiration! Its getting chiller here too, the short sleeved tops are on hold and the longer sleeved tops are out, maybe we will get an Indian summer before the end of September. The leaves are still green and the fields are greener than I can remember at this time of year due to the heavy summer rain. :)

Love the tripled-colored butterfly and your fun diamond background. The thank-you plays nicely with the black edge of the butterfly! Planned I am for certain! Have a wonderful day and take care!

Your butterfly is beautiful! I was never sure about dried marigold as a colour, but it is the perfect transition colour here. Love the lightly stencilled background, too. Such a pretty card!

The butterfly is just fabulous and the stencil adds just the right soft color to the background! I'm with you---not ready for less daylight and colder temps quite yet. The summer just whipped by!

Carol I am so in love with your butterfly! I am crushing big time on that butterfly and the stencil that go along with it. I could make cards with those every day! It is so lovely that you made your butterfly with just the stencils, it looks fabulous! I am also extra excited to be on the team with you my friend!
