Trendy Leaves Note...STAMPlorations Bi-Weekly Sketch Challenge #25, Anything Goes, and January Challenge-Stamps and Ink, Craft Stamper~Take A Stamp Challenge

Hello!

It's hard to believe that I've been with my mom for nearly a month, and what a month it's been!  My husband is coming tomorrow; I'll be packing my gear to head back with him on Sunday. It ain't going to be pretty, because someone is going to be shedding serious tears!! On the plus side, we're aiming to return next Friday, and trust me, I'll be counting down the 'sleeps' beginning Sunday night.  Back to work Monday morning...gahhhhhhhh!  Okay, enough about this topic.

Mom and I accomplished quite a few items from the must-do list. Highlight: new furnaces! Yayy! They were installed Wednesday/Thursday, by two servicemen who were absolute sweethearts: professional, polite and friendly.  We've had many encounters with incredibly compassionate people over the past couple of weeks; talk about blessings!

Moving on....Today's card, made pretty much last minute (apparently some things remain the same *grin*), was inspired by STAMPlorations Bi-Weekly Sketch Challenge #25

Plenty of reckoning and figuring took place behind-the-scenes before I finally settled on giving my new Trendy Leaves stamps a go. In case my interpretation of the sketch isn't clear, here's my translation: the leaves = hearts; an embossed strip of birch trees = the band across the front panel; more paint chip paper (sorry...) = the borders.

I'm also sharing at STAMPlorations' Anything Goes Challenge

and January Challenge~Stamps and Inks

I've also discovered a new place to play, thanks to wonderful and talented Shirley, from Shirley-bee's Stamping Stuff, whose lovely card here, lead to:

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!

I'm loving your creativity with the paint chips, Carol - who needs coloured card?? And yes, it's easy to see the sketch in your interpretation (love the birch tree strip). Thanks for playing along with STAMPlorations, AND with Take It Make It, AND for participating in the blog hop - hope you're a lucky winner - and thanks for the shout-out :)

I'm always so amazed how you manage to do mobile crafting. Awesome work. Great that you were able to help out your Mom so much and yay for great service peoples. It makes it so much less painful having to go through all that stuff.

I once had a duo of carpet layers in my house, years ago. I giggled the whole time as one of them sang "here I come to save the day..." The Mighty Mouse theme....All Day! Then I made them lunch =] I cannot tell you how much I love those Trendy Leaves!!! So beautiful, c...

I can't imagine how hard it is going to be hard leaving your mother on Sunday, and I'm sure it will be equally hard for her. After all she has had you for a month to be by her side and help her out with all that needed to be done. I'd say your parents raised some pretty awesome kids! Once again you amaze me with your adaptation and working with what you got!! Your take on the sketch is spot on to me and I am totally loving it! How creative your mind works, can you please rub elbows with me so some of your awesome creativity can rub off on me?!! Yep, I am totally in love with this card and I just can't believe how you made it all work perfectly! Hugs, Brenda

I'm glad the furnace situation has taken a turn for the better!!

So glad to hear that things are working out on the furnace front!! And so glad that you are there to keep your mom feeling nice and cozy and loved!! SO that mobile crafting unit you have there reminds me of something - Mary Poppins carpet bag!!!! She was able to pull anything and everything out of it and that is exactly what you are doing with the very lovingly packed C.M.U. you have there with you!!! What a treat to think each time you use it of your husband's love and care for you and his willingness to make things brighter for you!!! My husband - as awesome as he is - would not have the first clue what to bring to me in a time like this!!! So very impressive, all the love that you have surrounding you - I hope you feel it, revel in it, and rejoice with gladness!!

Woohoo for the new furnaces! That is great news and will ease some of your worries. :) With regards to your card, if you hadn't mentioned using paint chips I wouldn't have known! I thought you were just being your usual talented and creative self! It almost goes without saying that I love your card. Love the embossed birch trees and those gorgeous leaves! Seriously, those leaves are gorgeous! The entire card is a work of art!
