You're Special Poppies...STAMPlorations Bi-Weekly sketch Challenge #19, Simon Says~Make Your Own Background

Hello again...a mad-dash post this morning, and a second one this afternoon. Galleries are closing, and being so disorganized is leading to a slew of 'last minute' entries. I "need" to share my shopping trip with you, which means I "need" to get a card done ahead of time to provide "babbling" opportunities. It's in the works...

For now, I'm entering a card into STAMPlorations Bi-Weekly Sketch Challenge #19

The wonderful opportunity to be a GD for this challenge inspired me to try the technique on that card with a second one, this time featuring the lovely poppies stamp. My masking still needs work, as a few 'gaps' are visible, but I'm generally pleased with my efforts. In real life, the poppies are a-twinkle with the shimmer from my Twinkling H2O paints.  Such pretty colours in that 'romance' set...I have several other flowers and stamps awaiting their turn from some shimmer and sheen.

I'm also sharing this at Simon Says~Make Your Own Background

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!

Soooooo pretty! And a great photo too - the sparkle/shimmer shows up beautifully! LOVE the uncolored images - great way to showcase the brilliantly colored ones!

"IF" there are gaps in the stamped/masked images, they are doing a fine, fine job of hiding cuz everything looks pretty dang perfect to my eyes!

Gorgeous poppies! You did a bang up job colouring/painting them with the Twinkling H2Os too! Hope the snow is gone now! Heard Calgary airport was shut down earlier this week because of the snowfall - crazy!!

Congrats on your Guest DT spot, Carol! I really LOVE your poppies! The rich red really pops and I love how you created the black and white portion of the panel! I also love how you embossed your sentiment in white on black...so striking!

I can't wait to see what you have to share with us from your shopping trip :)

I, too, am anxiously awaiting seeing what you have to share from all your shopping!! But for now, I will be perfectly content to OOOH and AAAH over this delightfully beautiful card!! I love it - I am not such a big floral fan but you have done yourself proud on this one!! Love the dashes of red poppy masked (VERY WELL to my eye) over a black and white background that just makes them stand up proudly and just shimmer and shine!! This is utterly a show of your great eye and design skills - love it!! Hugs - Taunya

I am not sure I agree that your masking skills need work. This looks beautiful. The pop of color against the grey flowers is just stunning.

Well, *ouch*, Carol! Please put a disclaimer up if you are sharing jaw dropping cards! Not sure how to explain the bruises on my jaw every time it *wooshes* to the floor (see what I did there, word play?? I do read all of your posts ;) ).

This card induces a serious case of awe, mixed with a spoonful of envy. Your creativity really knows no boundaries. I'm incredibly impressed how you manage to churn out one amazing card after another. I think I'm turning into a fangirl…
