Just Us Girls Challenge #799 - CASE a DT - Merry Christmas (Simply Stated Design)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #799, where we invite you to CASE one of the design team member's cards.  We create what we want; you select whichever card catches your eye (please be sure to tell us) and interpret it with your own twists and turns (please share details).

If you select my card to CASE, thank you!
My Christmas card is simple: embossing + patterned paper + ephemera. The papers/ephemera are from my favourite 100% Canadian/100% Alberta company: Simply Stated Designs. Inspiration was from the World Card-Making Day kit curated by Paper & Ink Boutique, located in Calgary, with the design by Heather Fischer.

Looking forward to see your take on one of our cards.

Thank you for dropping by!

AAA Cards Challenge #302 - Follow My Lead - Follow Karen - Happy Everything Cross-Stitched Heart (Lawn Fawn)

Hello,

Welcome to AAA Cards Challenge #302 where, for the next two weeks, we invite you to play "Follow My Lead." The lead this time around is Karen with an adorable bunny and watermelon card you see below.

I discovered, in my box of bits-and-bobs, a heart I cross-stitched (Lawn Fawn) quite a while ago. This challenge seemed a perfect fit, with a focal image centered within a circular background.  I know the stitching took a while, but assembling the card? Literally minutes!

Please head over to the main blog to see how our guest designer and my talented team followed Karen's lead. Then, take your cue from her card and join us in the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #353 - Designer's Choice - Seeing Stars - Shine Like the Stars (SSD and WCMD inspiration)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #353  where my wonderful teammate, Julia, invites us to draw inspiration from her Designer's Choice of SEEING STARS.  A few stars or a Milky Way's worth of stars, sparkly, shiny or glittery...the choice of stars and occasion is entirely yours.

Once again, I'm playing with papers and ephemera from Simply Stated Design, the fabulous company located in my home province of Alberta. The moon with the roses is so lovely, as is that wonderful night sky.

What stars will you bring to the gallery?
Let's get Julia all starry-eyed with a full-to-bursting star-filled gallery!

Just Us Girls Challenge #798 - Stencil Week - Season's Greetings Snowman

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #798 - Stencil Week where Ina is our lucky hostess.

October has flown by and it seems only yesterday we welcomed Greta Hess as our Guest Designer. Today, we bid her a heartfelt thank you for being such an inspiration this month. Greta, your weekly share of talent will be missed.

Surprise: no Craftoween Halloween card from me this week! LOL! Instead, I reached for my purchased-ages-ago Simon Says Build A Snowman mini stencils. Of course, snowmen and snowflakes go hand-in-hand; these are from a TH stencil. Simple...very.

Please head over to the main blog to see stencil sensations from Greta and the rest of my talented team. Then, bring out your stencils and join us in the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

Color Hues Challenge #120 - Purple and Orange - Have A Hauntingly Good Time (Craft-O-Ween, Day 4)

Hello,

Welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #120, where our lovely hostess, Stef, has selected hues of Purple and Orange as our inspiration for the next two weeks. A fabulous combination, I'm sure you'll agree, especially if you're a fan of Halloween.

We're delighted to have Bobby as our guest designer for this challenge.

Guess what: yet another showcase of cute dies from my Spellbinders' Craft-O-Ween box. This little ghost is the star of the stage and is one of my favourites from the collection. He's extra dapper with his top hat and BOO banner.

Please head over to the main blog to see amazing creativity from Bobby and the rest of my wonderful team. Then, bring out your hues of purple and orange and join us in the gallery.

The challenge will be open until October 29th at 9:00am EST.

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall

Just Us Girls Challenge #797 - Mood Board Week - October Leaves (Simply Stated Designs)

 Hello,

A warm welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #797 where, as hostess, I've selected a poster style mood board as inspiration for this week's challenge. Filled with an assortment of Fall-themed images and colours, I'm sure you'll find one - or perhaps several - ideas to spark your creativity.

Once again, we're delighted to have  Greta Hess joining us as our October Guest Designer.

The leaves and  the 'scattered images' design of the poster caught my eye, so I replicated both with my card, using Autumn Splendor ephemera and a sentiment from Simply Stated Design.  The sentiment: so true.

Please head over to the main blog to see fabulous inspiration from Greta and my teammates.

Looking forward to seeing your mood-board inspired cards/projects in the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

AAA Cards Challenge #301 - Anything CAS Goes - Optional Twist - Greys (monochrome) - Magic and Mischief Await (Craftoween Day 7)

Hello,

Welcome to AAA Cards Challenge #301 where our theme for the next two weeks is:  Anything CAS Goes, with an optional twist of Greys. Grey is such a versatile colour; after all, it comes in at least 50 shades (LOL!).

I decided that my stack of books, from Day 7 of my Spellbinders Craft-O-Ween box, would convey a spooky vibe in all grey. What do you think?

Please head over to the main blog to see fabulous inspiration from my teammates.
Then, create an Anything CAS Goes card to share in the gallery. Grey is optional, but if you have it, we'd love to see it!

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #352 - Seasonal - Halloween Cards - Simply Stated Design Halloween Advent Calendar

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #352 where SEASONAL is our theme for the next two weeks. Please head over to the main blog for ideas on what we're looking for with this challenge. In a nutshell, we'd like you to pair a SEASON with an OCCASION; for example, winter + Christmas; fall + Thanksgiving or Halloween, etc.

I'm a big fan of Simply Stated Designs and, since October 1st, have been thoroughly enjoying the daily delights found in their Halloween Advent Calendar. Today, My cards today feature the XL Ephemera found on Day 6. These images are huge, wonderfully detailed and whimsically fun. Even though most people would use them for scrapbooking, scrapbooking is not my thing, so I card-ified them.  The cards range in size from A6 to 6 x 6 to A2, depending on the image and how much trimming I was inclined to do. Honestly, they're just too pretty to cut! LOL!

Please head over to the main blog to see fabulous inspiration from my team, then join us. Can't wait to see what SEASON + OCCASION card/project you'll bring to the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

Hello,

Once again, we're delighted to have our October Guest Designer Greta Hess joining us.

Yep...another image from my Spellbinders' Craft-O-Ween box. A cauldron with witch's legs just makes sense, right! LOL!

Please head over to the main blog to see spooky sensation inspiration from Greta and the rest of my talented teammates.
Then, bring out your Halloween treats and join us in the gallery!

A new month means a new guest designer. For October, we're delighted to have talented and creative Greta Hess joining us.

Marking its debut is my September BetterPress Society press plate. The leaves are easy to ink and, indeed, are lovely in a wide range of colour combinations. Autumn colours for me this time.

Color Hues Challenge #119 - Rust and Yellow - Season of Thanks (Concord and 9th)

Hello,

Welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #119  where Marcia, our hostess, has selected Rust and Yellow as inspiration for the next two weeks. Autumn vibes for sure - but plenty of other seasons/occasions also come to mind.

I went all in with a fall theme, using an older stamp and die set from Concord & 9th. Altenew and Taylored Expressions inks and a snippet of rust paper from a Tim Holtz collection in my stash made creating the card quite easy to create.

Please head over to the main blog to see fabulous inspiration from my teammates, then join us in the gallery with your Rust and Yellow cards/projects.

The challenge will be open until Tuesday, Oct. 14th @ 9:00AM.

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall
winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

AAA Birthday Cards Game #78 - Ombre - Modern Design Blocks Happy Birthday Wishes (PFS)

Hello,

Welcome to AAA Birthday Cards Game #78, where, for the month of October, we'd like to see Ombre featured on your cards

We're delighted to have Karen Walker joining us as our Guest Designer this month.

Although my card looks a bit splotchy and, perhaps, slightly disheveled, I was aiming for a stylized version of ombre. I inked the Pinkfresh Studios glimmered image with three shades of blue ink, trying for light, medium and dark in each of the 'sections. In real life, the effect is pretty and definitely has an ombre vibe.

Even if my photo isn't great, I think you get the drift of my intention - and perhaps ombre in different portions of your image may serve as inspiration for you.

Please head over to the main blog to see ombre-awesomeness from my teammates.
Looking forward to seeing how this challenge inspires you.
The gallery is open all month; see you there.
