AAA Birthday Challenge ##72 - Mythical - Unicorns and Rainbow Happy Birthday

Hello,

Can you believe it's already April? Time flies! A new month means a new challenge over at AAA Birthday and, for Challenge #72, we invite you to create cards with a MYTHICAL theme. Dragons, fairies, unicorns, elves, gnomes...bring out your fantastical creatures for a wild birthday celebration!

We're delighted to have  Silke joiining us as our Guest Designer.

I coloured a herd of unicorns from Alex Syberia Designs' Always Be Yourself collection, and selected a couple for my card. I've paired them with her Quicky Rainbow dies and a sentiment from Concord and 9th. You'll definitely see more unicorns from me soon; they're so much fun!

Please head over to the main blog for fabulous inspiration from our Guest Designer and my teammates.
Then, join us in the gallery with a Mythical-themed card of your own.

Just Us Girls Challenge #768 - STENCIL Week - Sending Hugs and Good Vibes (Uniko Layered Posies, Perforated Paper)

Hello,

Welcome to our super fun Stencil Week for Just Us Girls Challenge #768. Vicki, as hostess, has the pleasure of selecting the winner this go-round.

Once again, Jeanne Jachna joins us as our March Guest Designer; thank you for sharing your fabulous creativity and inspiration with us this month, Jeanne!

I've seen several crafters use perforated paper to create cards recently and, since I have a few sheets in my stash, I decided to give it a try (especially since I've made the decision 'not' to cross-stitch/stitch on paper any more). The texture of the paper worked a charm with my new Uniko Layering Picked Posies Stencil which, by the way, I absolutely LOVE!

Please head over to the main blog to see the fabulous cards designed by Jeanne and the rest of the team.
Then, bring out your stencils, give them plenty of inky-love and share your artwork in the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #767 - MOODBOARD Week - To A Wonderful Friend (Rub-ons)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #767 where our lovely hostess, Lisa, has selected a lovely Spring themed mood board as inspiration this week. Flowers, greenery, eggs, butterflies, a sweet lamb, cupcakes...so many wonderful choices to spark ideas.

Once again, we're delighted to Jeanne Jachna join us as our March Guest Designer.

A mood board *this* pretty sent me to my collection of rub-ons to find images that would do it justice - and I found them in a set of three butterflies.  Yes, I am a rub-ons fan!

Please head over to the main blog to see the wonderful creativity of Jeanne and the rest of my outstanding team.
Looking forward to seeing how the mood board inspires you.

Thank you for dropping by!

Colour Hues Challenge #106 - Lemon and Lime - Wishing You a Beautiful Day Butterfly

Hello,

Welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #106, where our lovely hostess, Julie, invites us to play with hues of Lemon and Lime for the next two weeks. Her combination certainly evokes the feeling of Spring, citrus fruits and a range of other images and ideas.

The wonderfully talented Michele (I Card Everything) joins us as our Guest Designer; we're delighted to have you showcasing your creativity with us, Michele!

My lemony butterfly has alit on a decorative shades of lime landing site. Simple...once the idea gelled!

Apologies for the rather muted photo; the colours are more vibrant in real life.

Please head over to the main blog to see the fabulous inspiration from my creative teammates, then join us in the gallery with a lemon-and-lime card/project of your own.

The challenge will be open until March 29th @ 9:00 am EDT.

winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Inkspirational Challenge #337 - Designer's Choice - SPORTS - Hockey Congrats

Hello,

It's Designer's Choice over at Inkspirational Challenge #337.  For the next two week, Pia invites you to "play" along with a totally fun challenge: SPORTS.  I'm looking forward to seeing an array of sports featured in the gallery.

A hockey-themed stencil + ephemera card for my hockey-playing nephew. In a few short weeks, he'll be heading to try-outs for a 2025-26 Winter team (I know...we're barely in to Spring!). Since I already know he'll be selected (nothing like a biased aunty, right!), so I'm ready with a Congrats card.

Please head over to the main Inkspirational blog to see fabulous sports-themed cards from my teammates.
Then, bring out your A-game and join us in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #766 - WORD Week - Green - Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #766, where our talented hostess, Bobby, has selected...you guessed it...GREEN as inspiration for Word Week. Green doesn't need to be only about colour; rather, consider a golf 'green or money or...whatever 'green' sparks for you.
We're delighted to have Jeanne Jachna joining us once again as our March Guest Designer.

Pretty easy to see how green inspired me...

Please head over to the main blog to see what Jeanne and the rest of the team have created, then join us with something 'green' of your own.

Thank you for dropping by!

Time Out Challenge #284 - Guest Designer for Theme Challenge - The Red Carpet - You Are Special In Every Way Polka-Dot Dress

Hello,

I'm especially delighted and honoured to be the Guest Designer for Time Out Challenge #284, where they've chosen The Red Carpet as their theme inspiration.

Below, you'll see a collage featuring amazing fashion from Academy Awards through the years. The dresses...ohmyword! Gorgeous! Your project does not have to include clothing, however; you can draw inspiration from the colours, select images, the 'vibe'.  A plentitude of possibilities...but wait! There's more! You can also select your own favourite fashion photo and use that as inspiration; be sure to include that image in your post.

The beautiful flowy red dress (bottom right) caught my eye immediately and I set about trying to figure out how to replicate those lovely folds. I landed on a couple of origami sites which provided exactly what I was seeking.

Even though following the videos and tackling the folds challenged my limited engineering skills, I'm fairly pleased with the results that you see in my 'dress' below. Yes, origami paper would have helped, but living in a small town makes that a challenge to find. I also have a limited selection of double-sided, light-weight patterned paper so...I did my best with what I had on hand. A heart die, three circles and a little strip of glitter: that's all I needed (and several practice sessions that wound up in the recycle bin!). My dress is attached to a layered oval die cut, then paired with a sentiment from Alex Syberia Designs and some black bling.

This is definitely a hand-deliver card as the dress is quite 'poufy'! LOL!

This Time Out Challenge is sponsored by Picket Fence Studio. The winner will receive a $25 git certificate as well as in invitation to design for a future challenge.

Please be sure to check out the beautiful inspiration from the Design Team on the Time Out blog.

Hope you'll play along!

Thank you again to the Time Out Team for inviting me to the party!

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #765 - Use a DIE Week - Birthday card - Cheerful Pandas and Candles Happy Birthday (Alex Syberia Designs)

Hello,

I'm delighted to be the hostess for Just Us Girls Challenge #765 where I've chosen *Birthday* as the theme for Use Dies Week.

For this challenge, we have two easy-peasy 'rules' for you to follow to put you in the running to be selected as a Winner of the Week or highlighted for a Shout out.

1. Your card must be a birthday card.

2. You must use at least one die that is birthday-themed: a sentiment, cake, candles, balloons, party hats, and so on.

Simple, right? Right!

A new month means a new Guest Designer; joining us for March is wonderfully talented Jeanne Jachna. Welcome Jeanne!

My Alex Syberia Designs' Cheerful Panda Moments stamps + dies and Flickering Candlelight stencil came out for a play. I'm having a 'thing' for these pandas of late; they take 'cute' to a whole new level!

Please head over to the main blog to see fabulous inspiration from Jeanne and my teammates.

Looking forward to seeing a gallery filled with birthday cards and at least one birthday-themed die cut. Let the celebrations begin!

Thank you for dropping by!

Color Hues Challenge #105 - Green and White - You're Awesome to the Core (Honeybee Stamps)

Hello,

A warm welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #105 where, as hostess, I have selected hues of Green and White as inspiration for the next two weeks.  This simple combination gives you opportunity to play with the colours as they are or to pair them with our snippets of our wonderful array of neutrals - black, grey, kraft, brown, cream, gold, and silver. Themes and occasions are open - with a reminder that St. Patrick's Day will be here in a blink!

We're delighted to have Nance joining us as our Guest Designer for this challenge.

Honeybee Stamps' Awesome to the Core suite of stamps, stencils and dies recently joined my collection, so I created a few Granny Smith apples for my card, along with a pretty, antique white blossom and a scalloped oval base + frame. The apples are fun and yes, several more are awaiting their turn on the stage.

Please head over to the main blog for some fabulous inspiration from our guest designer and my teammates.
Then, bring out your Green & White and create a card (or two) of your own to share in the gallery.
Looking forward to seeing how this combination inspires you.

Thank you for dropping by!

AAA Birthday Challenge #71 - Masculine - Harry Potter Birthday Wishes (Missees Man)

Hello,

Welcome to AAA Birthday Challenge #71 where our theme for March is Masculine. Yes, creating cards for the men in our lives can be daunting but we're here with plenty of masculine-marvelous inspiration. We also know you have some fabulous guy-themed ideas to share with us as well - and I, for one, can't wait to see them!

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to our Guest Designer - Ella.

When the Missees collection by Karin Joan/Studio Light was released a few years ago, I fell hard and fast in love with the entire series. I made numerous cards with the pretty Missees and then, not too long after, she brought out the Missees Man version. And, once again, I dove right in, inviting the guys to join my gals.

Essentially, the stamps and dies offer ample opportunity to create 'paper dolls' of any and all characters you can imagine...and that's precisely what I've done here with my Missees Man version of Harry Potter. His signature glasses, tousled hairstyle and Gryffindor outfit were fun to make, as was pairing him with postage-themed patterned paper from Echo Park's Wizards collection. I think my 'guy' card would work well for any boy/teen who's an HP fan (or who may secretly want to be just like Harry).

Please head over to the main blog for fabulous masculine card inspiration from my teammates. Then, join us in the gallery with a guy-card of your own.

Inkspirational Challenge #336 - CAS (Optional Twist - Use Stickers, Rub Ons or Ephemera) - That was so Sweet of You (49 and Market Rub-Ons)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #336. We're starting off March (can you believe it!) with a Clean and Simple (CAS) Challenge with the optional twist of using stickers or rub-ons or transfers or ephemera.

I'm sure many of you join me in being dazzled by the gorgeous collections designed by 49 & Market. My card today features rub-ons from their recent Willows release and ohmyword! Talk about lovely images that make creating clean and simple cards both easy and pretty. I've paired the sprig with two outlined butterflies along with a sentiment strip from Taylored Expressions. Total time: under 10 minutes!

To help you out, here's what we'll be looking for with your Clean and Simple designs:
✅ One main focal point
✅ Lots of OPEN space (doesn't 'have' to be white)
✅ Minimal Layers
✅ Minimal Embellishments

Please head over to the main blog to see lovely inspiration from my talented teammates, then join us in the gallery with a Clean and Simple card of your own (with or without the twist).

Just Us Girls Challenge #764 - STENCIL Week - Make Your Own Magic Unicorns and Rainbows

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #764, where Sue  is our hostess for Stencil Week.

Once again, Stephanie Severin joins us as our February Guest Designer; thank you so much for your wonderful inspiration this month.

My card features a Simple Stories one layer stencil in my stash that I've had for ages but have used perhaps once before. A bit of masking required to achieve the pastel rainbow inking, but I'm please with the results. The cutie-patootie unicorns are from Alex Syberia Designs' Always Be Yourself collection. I may have another 10 of the magical creatures awaiting some cards; they're adorable.

NOTE: Honoured to be selected as The Dream Factory Challenge #136 Winner. Thank you!

Looking forward to seeing which of your stencils you'll be bringing to the gallery.
