Flowers and Peacocks...FUSION Challenge~Truck Bouquet

Hello,

Once again, you've WOWed us with the abundant creativity shared in the previous challenge! You dazzled us with your takes on the Easter-themed images; I can only imagine how you'll take it up several notches for the new challenge! Welcome to FUSION Challenge~ Truck Bouquet.  Stunning bouquet and I think that silvery-blue truck is a wonderful canvas! As always, we have a sketch to spark you as well....

A trio of cards to share today. The first two, inspired by the sketch (slightly adapted, of course) are simply sentiment-changed versions of the same card, featuring my new HA Peacock Layering stamps/dies. The layers are easier to line-up than I thought (although I watched several videos, just to be sure).  Score-lines create the 'panel' (the only way I knew I could get straight-ish lines!), with STAMPlorations Flourish stencil used for the background. Guess what colour I used for the second?  Yep...Peacock Feathers!

I am very proud of my accomplishment with my next card: Concord & 9th's Hello Lovely, using the faux water-coloured images that accompany the set. Amy R (Prairie, Paper and Ink) designed a card using these recently, and after watching her magic unfold (about a dozen plus a dozen times), I ventured forth with my own attempts.  Several mis-steps later, this one emerged, as did a second (the same - created as a back-up, should the need arise *grin*)...

Hopefully, my colours complement those in the bouquet, as that was my intent...

I'm smitten with this 'look'...definitely going to practice and play some more with other colour combinations. Maybe I'll get really daring and see what happens if I use lightly spritzed distress inks. Of course, no sentiment...after all that effort, I wasn't going to risk it!

That's it from me!  Please head over to the FUSION site to gaze and admire the beauties created by my design team. Guaranteed, they'll leave you breathless with awe!

STAMPlorations Things with Wings Spring Blog Hop & Linky Party~Week 2

Hello,

I'm back joining Shery and her STAMPlorations team as a guest designer for Week 2 of the fabulous
STAMPlorations Things with Wings Spring Blog Hop & Linky Party

The event launched last Wednesday and in case you want to catch up, you can do so here. Extra posts take place today and on the following 2 Wednesdays. We will be showcasing spring-themed projects (cards, ATCs, tags, postcards, etc.) that have wings (birds, butterflies, dragonflies, etc.).

Of course, this is an 'interactive' challenge that involves prizes, so be sure to read the details on the poster below and check out the STAMPlorations main blog.  You for sure want to play along!

Inspiration for my cards today came from STAMPlorations April Theme and Sketch Challenge

My Vignette Trendy Feathers form the patterned background. Afterwards, I embossed the smallest of the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies to create the 'frame' element (hard to see in the photos, but definitely visible in real life).  A butterfly from Flutter Zen 1 Layering Die, inked with a combination of Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink Wilted Violet (the oxides are cool and yes, the colours do vary from their DI cousins...) joined the scene....

Made a second....

Please head over to the STAMPlorations site to see awesome inspiration from the rest of the team.

Things with Wings....that's all you need!
See you in the gallery!

All Things Grow With Love...Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #237

Hello,

Hope your week is off to a great start! I'm still trying to catch up after helping my husband in his office all day Saturday, attending a bike-racing officials meeting in a neighbouring city (if we consider a 2 hours' drive 'neighbouring') on Sunday, then dropping him at the airport on the way back for his trip to Toronto. Yesterday I tackled a whole schwack o' stuff (still more to do) and later today, I'm airport-bound to collect my guy.  Thank heavens for card-making....a chance to slooowwww things down...

Today, my team and I invite you to join us a Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #237~Make Your Mark.  Markers, paints, pencils, sponges, stencils....use anything that *makes a mark*  on your entry for this marvelous challenge

Recently, Uniko's fabulous Originally Organic set joined my collection; debut made here....

Prismacolour pencils were my 'mark-making' tools of choice. These images, along with a few more still awaiting attention, are a delight to colour!

NBUS goodies means I'm off to Darnell's 2nd Annual April Fool's Boo-Boo Hop and NBUS Challenge #11. Have you seen the entries in her gallery? Sheer delights, be the cards of the boo-boos or NBUS nature!

Off you go to check out the marvelous inspiration from my team, then create a card/project of your own!

See you in the gallery!

Thank you so much for dropping by; your visit brings me joy!

Hello, Lovely...Inkspirational Challenge #132~Spring

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #132...and look what we're 'springing' on you for the next two weeks....

Yes, Spring....or spring or *spring*....possibilities!  This week, we're delighted to have talented Trina as our guest designer.  She, along with my awesome team-mates...

Sandie
Yvonne
Shauna
Marina
Kim
(we're sad to share that Kim is leaving
us; she will be missed more than I have words to express!)
Nonni

are sure to dazzle and delight you with their creations!

As for my card:  You've seen this gorgeous Hello, Lovely set from Concord & 9th throughout blogland and often, it's showcased with water-colours in ways that are incredibly stunning. This beauty has been part of my collection for quite a while and I've let it sit neglected, daunted by the works of art created by those who are far more artistic than I. Finally, I decided 'enough'! I can do something with this that is 'good enough'...so out came my prismacolour pencils and we had just a jolly good time colouring together!  In fact, I have a couple more panels to play with.  Another go with pencils AND with the faux water-colour stamps that accompany it on my schedule. No one's putting this baby in the corner any more! (I love Dirty Dancing! *grin*)

Here's my Spring-themed creation...

Since this is brank-spanking new, I'm also sharing at Darnell's place in her 2nd Annual April Fool's Boo-Boo Hop and NBUS Challenge #11. Such fun!

Turning the stage over to you...Spring into spring! And remember: spring has a number of meanings...just sayin' (she says, as she springs into action to vacuum the dust bunnies!)

See you in the gallery!

Some Bunny Pom Pom Tag...Tag, You're It Challenge #69

Hello,

Welcome to Tag, You're It Challenge #69, where immensely talented Joyce, from Cards By the Sea fame, has this fantastic pompom-sporting gem as inspiration.

Guest Featured Artist

Also joining in the 'fluffy fun' is our guest designer Lisa Elton

Wild antics (ie. rolling-on-the-floor with laughter) when you see my tag are *not* allowed (you will have to stifle yourselves...guaranteed). Snickers, giggling and pointing, eye-ball rolling...those are fine and likely can't be helped.  You see, I've never made a pompom before...as you can tell...Hahahahaha..sorry, Broke my own rules....

Just for the record: no bunnies (Uniko Some Bunny) were hurt in creating this tag; wool, however...an entirely different story!  Not. My. Fault!  I'm just pompom pathetic!  Even though I turned to several videos to help me out, the task posed...um...interesting.  My pompom (isn't that a fun word! I think I'll use it repetitively, because it makes me smile!.  Pompom! Okay...my 'decorative ball of fluff' (to be technical about it) started off the size of a cereal bowl. I 'may' have used the wrong type of yarn - it's sort of stretchy (here's the back story...I bought this 'new born baby' pastel hat kit before my nephew was born and prior to knowing he was a boy.  I followed the instructions to a 't'...and let's just say the finished hat was a far cry from newborn sized! It fit my sister-in-law perfectly! I think she still wears it on occasion.).   Anyway, after doing umpteen wraps, and the 'knotting' thing, I proceeded to cut, as instructed. I should have taken a photo of the original...and entered it into Darnell's Boo-Boo challenge! Alas, didn't think of it (I was laughing too hard...or maybe I was crying....).  Anyway, the videos said not to be afraid of 'trimming your pompom down to size'...so trim I did. A lot of trimming.  Here's the bowl of left-overs squashed down so as to fit...

And here's my bunny, with his pompom, nestled in the soft wooliness...

Okay....enough from me! A lot of babble for a first-time pompom.  I love Joyce's tag: inspiration is obvious and oh, such fun to try something new!  Oh, and the full sentiment reads: Some bunny loves you! Giving this to my niece and nephew on a basket of Easter treats when next I see them....

Please head over to see the fantastic tags designed by our featured and guest designers, as well as my team-mates. You'll be impressed (as contrasted to 'eye-brow raised amused' after having seen mine):

Please join us with your tag inspired by Joyce's. Pompoms not required...but it would be super fun if you did. Besides, if I can make a pompom (sort of...), you most certainly can!

See you in the gallery!
