Two cards from me, using assorted papers, stickers and die-cuts from Echo Park. One will head to my niece, who'll be in Grade 7 this year (ACK!!!); the other to my nephew, going into Grade 5 (ACK again!). They're growing up way way way tooooo fast!

Concord 7 9th's "Love You More Than" collection finally made it into mine...and I do love it 'more than'! Such fun! Pigment Craft Co. coverplate for the tan background; Lawn Fawn papers for the die cuts. Such a sweet message, don't you think?

Color Hues Challenge #47~ Chocolate and Mint...Sweet Birthday Wishes Donuts (MCT)

Middle of August...already! And, of course, time for the new Colour Hues Challenge, where our sweet Nancy has selected Chocolate and Mint as our combination for the next two weeks. Makes me think of sweet treats...

We're delighted to have Kim Heggins joining us as our Guest Designer.

My 'sweet treats' using this combination are chocolate donuts with mint icing and sparkly chocolate sprinkles. Yum!

Perfectly CAS Challenge #30 (August 2022)~Emboss...Spooky Eyes and Ghost BOO!

And here we are: mid-August! How did that happen so quickly? Middle of the month also means time for Perfectly CAS August 2022 Challenge, where we're inviting you to *emboss* - in whatever fashion you choose - on 1/3 or less of your card. 

Yes, technically it's still summer but...never too early to start with Halloween makes! I used a spooky eyes embossing folder for my black strip, then edged it with a narrow Have a Happy Halloween sentiment. Added my cutie pie ghost and Boo and ta dahhh....done!

Just Us Girls Challenge #645~Trend Week - Use a stencil...Zoo Animals Trio (inspired by Once Upon a Time Challenge #1 - Dear Zoo)

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #645, where our wonderful hostess, Bobby, has selected *use a stencil* as this week's trend. Given the plethora of stencils to be found in the crafting universe, we're sure to have a filled-to-bursting gallery.

We're delighted to have guest designer, Cathy Roffey, join us once again; 

I went on a 'new ideas' search for my cards and, in so doing, was delighted to find a new challenge:  Once Upon A Time. 

The premise of the challenge is super cool: each month, Deanne will post the cover of a children's book as inspiration. Ideas can be drawn from the story's theme, the cover, the layout, the colour scheme...lots of possibilities. This month, Dear Zoo (you can read it on the challenge blog...so sweet) was chosen...and given that I have a stack of Doodlebug At The Zoo stickers and die cuts (plus many more from other companies...I need to use them!), I settled right in to create a trio of projects.

The card below features a giraffe stencil from Uniko, mini leaf stencil from STAMPlorations and speech bubble + sentiment from My Creative Time created the stage for the cutie-pie giraffe. 

NOTE: So honoured that my giraffe was selected as a Top 3 at Once Upon a Time! Thank you!

As you know, I have bird terror, but a couple of these birds are just so sweet, I had to give them a play. First, is the flamingo, place atop another STAMPlorations leaf stencil, inked in, of course, Kitsch Flamingo distress ink. 

Second, a 4 x 4 lunchbox note, using another STAMPlorations stencil and Simon Says sentiment from a years' old thumbprint set.

Inkspirational Challenge #271~Technique - One Layer Stamping...Hello, Hi, Hey Turnabout

We are deeply saddened to share the news that, on July 21st, we lost our treasured friend and teammate, Lindsey, following her hard-fought battle with cancer. Lindsey was well-known for her amazing creativity, witty sense of humor and immense capacity to support and encourage her design team members and challenge participants. The Inkspirational family joins her family and friends in missing her shining light, her 'realness', her kindness. As for me...I miss my friend more with each passing day. 

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #271, where we've selected One Layer Stamping as our Technique Challenge. 

One layer stamping is sooooo not up my alley; I 'need' my stacked die cuts!  Concord & 9th Turnabout to the rescue! Here, I've used an older stamp - Hey There - and it's pretty obvious this is a "Hello, Hey, Hi" how-are-you-doing card. Or so I hope *grin*

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #644, where our wonderful hostess, Vicki, has selected *Butterflies* as this week's word challenge. Given all the butterfly stamps/dies/images in craft-land, we're sure to some absolutely gorgeous cards! 

We also welcome Catherine Roffey as our guest designer for August.

I've had the Pinkfresh Studio Butterfly die and stencils for a while, and just recently added the accompanying stamp. My stars, but what a difference it makes! Sooooo pretty! The background floral paper is from Cocoa Vanilla; I think it pairs wonderfully with the butterfly, leaving it to be the star of the stage.

Welcome to the NEW Birthday Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers that replaces the previous CAS challenge. This change opens up more opportunities, especially since the theme is always *Anything Goes*.  Wildly cheering this decision by our fabulous leader, Kylie!

Color Hues Challenge #46~Special Tribute to Lindsey...I Miss You!

What a hard post to write...

On July 21st, we lost our treasured friend and teammate, Lindsey, following her hard-fought battle with cancer. Lindsey was well-known for her amazing creativity, witty sense of humor and immense capacity to support and encourage her design team members and challenge participants.  

Even though I didn't have opportunity to meet Lindsey in person, she was an integral part of my life. Our daily messenger conversations were highlights of my day, where we covered all kinds of topics, from card-making to book recommendations to recipe sharing. I'll miss her insights on 'life stuff', her sense of humour, her ability to lift my spirits. I am blessed to have have known her; a treasured friend in every way.  

Today's color challenge was chosen by Lindsey. The Design Team here, along with Sister Challenge Teammates from Seize the Birthday, want to honor and celebrate her beautiful, creative life by sharing "Lindsey Inspired" projects using her Blue and Purple combination, along with things she loved the most, as inspiration. We hope you will join us as we pay tribute to our dear friend and teammate.

Lindsey loved many things, and I did my best to replicate a few of them in my card: books, plants, tea  and cozy fleece blankets. My sentiment inside is simple: I miss you. And I do and I will for a very long time to come.  May you be at peace, my dear friend. 

Hope you'll join us at Colour Hues for this most special challenge.
