AAA Colourful Challenge - Colourboard #7 - Witchin' Heels Trick or Treat (Spellbinders)

Hello,

Dropping in on this cool, rainy, dreary Alberta afternoon to share my card for AAA Colourful Challenge - Colourboard #7

Once September roll around (and August, too, to be honest), I'm thinking Halloween, so that's the direction I went. Below the colour swatch - thank you to the Colourboard designers for including this - are the inks I used to create my Witchin' Heels Frightful and Delightful scene.

Salty Ocean            Tumbled Glass         Peacock Feathers      Old Paper               Buttercream

I also added a bit of Prize Ribbon and Wild Honey to deepen the edges - as we see they are in the photo - of the sky and shadows of the moon, respectively. Hope the moon's 'glow' (my take on the sun's reflection in the image) is sufficiently visible - it's a combination of the Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Old Paper.

AAA Colourful...you're just way tooooo much fun!
And so too, is Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge - September 2024, where I'm also sharing my card.

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #744 - Word Week - Hope - Love, Joy, Hope, Peace (TH Christmas Cutouts)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #744, where our lovely hostess, Sue, has selected HOPE as inspiration for Word Week. Hope...so many directions to go with this simple, yet powerful word.

Once again, we're delighted to have Nancy joining us as our September Guest Designer.

My many Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies need attention; today's card features Christmas Cutouts. A quick search of examples lead me to this card, created by one of Tim's incredibly talented designers, Cathie Cowles. I full-on cased her. Busier than my usual but once in a while, it's okay to step out of the comfort zone.

Looking forward to seeing how *HOPE* will appear on your cards/projects.

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #324 - Designer's Choice - Make Your Mark - Thank You So Mush (Angie Bloom Design from Crop and Create 2023)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #324 where, or the next two weeks, we invite you to draw inspiration from Nonni's Designer's Choice: MAKE YOUR MARK. How do you "make your mark," you may ask? Simple: by adding colour to your images/die cuts with mediums like markers, pencils/crayons, watercolour/paints and even inks if you're using colouring/layering stencils.   Note: colouring stencils + inks qualify for this challenge.

I discovered this Angie Blom Mushroom Love digital image, from Crop and Create Fall 2023, in my stash. Given the popularity of mushrooms in card-making of late, it seemed timely to give it attention. I queued up Angie's video and, more or less, distress-ink watercoloured along with her. Of course, her sample is much better but I'm okay with how this turned out, especially since I'm not one for either digital images or watercolour. A scallop-edge panel die for some 'interest' and ta dah...I'm made my mark!

Looking forward to seeing how Nonni's Designer's Choice inspires you!

Just Us Girls Challenge #743 - Color Week - Blue, Rust and Gold - Wax Seal and Wildflowers Mini Slimline Note Card (Spellbinders, TH Wildflowers)

Hello,
Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #743, where our lovely hostess, Bobby, has selected Blue, Rust and Gold for this week's colour challlenge. I love this combination!

We're delighted to have Nance Salkeld as our guest designer for September. You'll see her creativity here for the next few weeks, as well as at her blog, SoulStampin'

I have a 'thing' for wax seals and, because I have *ahem* a few in my stash, they need to get plenty of play time. To that end, whenever possible, I'm going to add them to - or make them stars of - my cards for the next while. Today, you're seeing the oh-so-pretty Sunflower seal used to gather a trio of wildflowers from one of Tim Holtz's collections. Since I had the seals out, I made three more with light blue, gold and rust wax beads...so pretty.

Blue, Rust and Gold: how will they inspire you?

Color Hues Challenge #94 - Rust and Green - Bouquet of Poppies Birthday Greetings (Altenew)

Hello,

A warm welcome to September and, with it, a new colour combination for Colour Hues Challenge #94, where I've selected hues of Rust and Green as inspiration for the next two weeks. Warm, earthy, rustic, metallic, Rust offers much versatility. Pair it with different shades of green and you have a combination that is utterly beautiful. Little wonder we see this duo featured in weddings, home decor, fabrics and so much more. Even Mother Nature loves this combination, bringing it to us in a variety of flowers and plants.

For fabulous Rust and Green card inspiration, look no further than the wonderful creations by our guest designer, Colleen, and my oh-so-talented teammates.

I'm smitten with the Bouquet of Poppies collection from Altenew and, after some internet sleuthing, found inspiration to use it - yet again - from a rust + green poppies fabric. The poppies are blended with a combination of Rusty Hinge distress ink and Terra Cotta ink from Pigment Craft Co. The leaves also feature a Pigment Craft Co. ink: Fiscus. The panel dies are from Studio Katia; the frame, cut using one of the collection's oval dies, is a burnished gold. Final touch: a sentiment from Taylored Expressions.

The challenge will be open until September 14th @ 9:00am (EDT)

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall
winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Looking forward to seeing your Rust and Green creations in the gallery.

The Paper Players Challenge #704 - Sketch Challenge - Halloween Gingerbreads in Costume - Kitty and Pirate

Hello,

I'm having some 'just for fun' card making inspired by the The Paper Players Challenge #704 - A Sketch Challenge from JayDee.

The sketch was a great opportunity to play with some of my many dies, stamps and patterned papers from My Creative Time. For my cards, I dressed up two gingerbreads (one of the MCT signature collections) in Halloween costumes, then paired them with a some matchy-matchy papers.

I made a couple more with a cute witch and skeleton; saving them for down the road.
Thank you, JayDee, for the inspiration!

Just Us Girls Challenge #742 - CASE a Design Team Member - Trick or Treat Caldron

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #742, where we invite you to CASE a Design Team Member. We've all chosen our own theme/style of card, so you have plenty of choice when it comes to drawing inspiration and creating a card based on one of ours.
I'm in a Halloween-in-August frame of mind, so that's what you're getting from me: a big ol' caldron of witch's brew. Should you choose to CASE my card (and I'd be honoured if you did), you can consider the theme, images, foiling (the web in the background is deco-foiled), colours, etc. to spark ideas for your own version.

Looking forward to seeing your CASEd creations in the gallery.

Inkspirational Challenge #323 - Clean And Simple (Optional Twist: Animal) - Poppy and Butterfly You are the Best (Altenew Bouquet of Poppies)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #323 where our theme for the next two week is Clean and Simple, with the optional twist of Animal.

I *had* planned to make an animal card but, Altenew's Bouquet of Poppies suite appeared and ohmyword! Totally besotted with this rather ginormous set. Because I stamped, stenciled and die cut soooo many poppies, I decided to begin (operative word - begin) making cards with them. Plenty of poppy cards will be happening! LOL!

This is one of the single poppies, a bud and a sweet butterfly. The slim frame is from Simon Says; the sentiment from Spellbinders (glimmered).

Please head over the Inkspirational blog to see my lovely teammates' fabulous CAS creations, then
join us in the gallery with one (or more) of your own.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

The Flower Challenge #94 - Be Inspired By Our Colours - Thanks, I'm Touched Beyond Words Bouquet of Poppies (Altenew, Spellbinders)

Hello,

Popping in to share my card for The Flower Challenge #94 - Be Inspired By Our Colours. Such a pretty palette.
My photo doesn't do this card justice, as the colours are more vibrant but hopefully it serves well enough to show I met the mission. My Altenew Bouquet of Poppies (talk about an impressive collection that I *may* be obsessing over) features the following colours drawn from the photo:

Poppies: Coral Reef, Passion Fruit (Pinkfresh Studio)
Leaves: Old Paper and Bundled Sage (Distress Ink)
Butterfly: Buttercream (Altenew)
Sentiment and background panel: Gravel and Fog cardstock

NOTE: Delighted to be selected for an Honourable Mention at The Flower Challenge. Thank you!

Thank you, Flower Challenge, for the wonderful photo, the fabulous design team inspiration and the opportunity to play along.

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #741 - Anything Goes Stencil Week - Floral Celebration Birthday (Spellbinders)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #741, where our lovely Stephanie is hostess for Anything Goes Stencil Week.
Thank you to Bonnie Klass for sharing her incredible creativity and artistry with us as our August Guest Designer. Bonnie, you've been a wonderful source of inspiration.

Better Press and Glimmer both came out to play for my card, featuring Floral Celebration and a Let's Celebrate sentiment. Those little posies are so sweet - and so easy to stencil.

What stencil sensations will you bring to the gallery? Excited to find out.

Thank you for dropping by!

Color Hues Challenge #93 - Orange and Yellow - Halloween Postage Collage (WF, Tim Holtz, MCT, Coco and Reno)

Hello,

Welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #93 where our lovely hostess, Tracey, invites us to use the summer-into-fall hues of Orange and Yellow as our mid-August (where has the time gone!) inspiration. Think flowers, leaves, Halloween, sunsets, sunrises...did I mention Halloween? LOL! We're sure you'll find plenty of images and occasions to fit this combination.

Orange and Yellow + mid-August = Halloween. At least, that's what happened with me! My *spooky* card features Waffle Flower's A2 Postage Collage die as the base, with an assortment of die cuts from various companies: Tim Holtz, Sizzix, MCT, Coco and Reno and likely a couple more.
I have plenty of left over stamps and Halloween images to play with; they'll show up somewhere.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with Orange and Yellow.

The challenge will remain open until August 29th at 9 AM.

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #740 - Mood Board Week - Bees and Daisies Happy Birthday (MCT)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #740, where our wonderful hostess, Lisa, invites us to draw inspiration from this bee-utiful Mood Board.

A reminder that mood boards offer multiple opportunities for you to consider: colours, images, texture, a specific photo (or two)...whatever catches your fancy.

Once again, we're delighted to have  Bonnie Klass back as our August Guest Designer.

Inspiration for my mini slimline, patterned paper card is pretty obvious: bees, honeycomb, daisies, colours. A bee-zy little card, indeed! LOL!

Looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

AAA Colourful Challenge - Colourboard #6 - Happy Halloween Circle Tunnel Card

Hello,

Dashing in with my entry into AAA Colourful Challenge - Colourboard #6. I'm such a fan of this challenge, with its fabulous colour and design team inspiration.

My card was inspired by Joey's marvelous creation found here. I have no idea how he made his, but I tell you, my version was a test in engineering; skills I sorely lack! Of course, after doing a few Christmas-in-July cards, it only makes sense to do a few Halloween-in-August ones. My product combination is: an assortment of cardstocks, including one shiny and one glittery; various circle dies; bats and clouds from Tim Holtz and a sentiment from Winnie & Walter (so miss them).

NOTE: Thrilled and honoured to be one of the Top Four for this challenge. Thank you so much!

Thank you, AAA Colourful, for another great challenge.

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #322 - Mood Board - Today is a Good Day to have a Good Day (PFS chevrons, sentiment, florals)

Hello,

Our inspiration for the next two weeks comes from the late summery sunset, fresh citrus, pretty ceramics and floral window dressing Mood Board you see below.

A reminder that mood boards are created as 'inspiration,' offering multiple avenues for you to explore: colours, images, textures, designs, shapes, the 'vibe'...and that's just a start. One element or a combination of several: the options are plentiful, as you'll see from the cards created by my fabulous design team.  Let us know what caught your eye; we're excited to see your interpretations.

Source: https://butterflyreflectionsink.blogspot.com/2015/08/august-mood-board.html

Colours, the chevrons, the flowers in the window, as well as the 'late summer' vibe caught my eye. Hopefully, you'll recognize those features replicated in my card. Everything is from Pinkfresh Studio; in fact, the chevron stamp is an oldie that hasn't received attention for ages. Not sure why I've kept it out of sight for so long, as it inks wonderfully and offers loads of presentation options.

Looking forward to seeing your mood board inspired makes in the gallery!

Just Us Girls Challenge #739 - Word Week - FRAME - Better Press Society Christmas Tree (July)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #739, where our word prompt inspiration is FRAME. Easy-peasy, right. Your frames can be any shape, size or style; as long as you have something surrounded by a frame, you're good to go.

Once again, we're delighted to have Bonnie Klass joining us as our August Guest Designer.

I'm carrying *Christmas in July* over to August - and making a debut are my first Better Press Society plates, stencils and dies. The tree...oh, so pretty! Easy to stencil; easy to die cut; easy to frame, which I did with a scalloped edge die and gold cardstock. More of these to come; this collection makes my festive spirit bright.

Looking forward to seeing how FRAME inspires you.
