This wrap-up challenge for April (ohmyword...time's flying!) means it's time to express our appreciation for our fabulous guest designer: Colleen Begley. Colleen, you've been wonderfully inspiring! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us and we hope to see you in the gallery often.

I'm smitten with Concord & 9th's Flower Press stencil and, after bringing it out for another challenge, I decided to create a second card for this one.

NOTE: Thrilled that my card was selected as a Top Four at AAA Colourful Challenge #3.

My Speckled Egg DI in my photo looks more blue than it does in real life, where it comes very close to that in the photo.  I paired it with Mustard Seed, a bit of Fossilized Amber and some Shaded Lilac.

The center wildflower bouquet caught my eye, as did a set of cards designed by Jenn Shurkus, so I set about making a quartet of my own. My collection of distress ink water-coloured flowers are bunched together with an assortment of another suite of my current obsessions: wax seals.

Color Hues Challenge #85 - Yellow & Pink - Flower Press Celebrate (Concord and 9th)

Welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #85, where our lovely hostess, Hannelie, invites us to use hues of Yellow and Pink as inspiration for the next two weeks. Definitely a combination to herald the arrival of Spring (although it's snowing here at the moment...). 

I decided to revisit one of my favourite Concord & 9th stencils: Flower Press. The whimsy of the flowers and the simplicity of the stencils make this a double win set. Tried some new Simon Says shades of pink ink and some older Altenew yellows. I think they played nicely together.

The challenge will remain open until April 29th at 9 am!

The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge and the overall winner will have the opportunity to be a future Guest Designer.

Playing at AAA Colourful - Colourboard #2 - Happy Birthday Dear Friend Blooming Anemones (Memory Box)

I LOVE pansies, but don't have any in my stash so...I went with anemones from Memory Box. 

Now, to find some pretty pansy dies to add to my stash!

Inkspirational Challenge #313 - Word Prompt - Fold - Just a Note A2 Slider (MCT Watering Can, Tulips and Springtime Papers, A2 Slider - Pinkfresh Studio)

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #313 where our Word Prompt for the next two weeks is FOLD.  As card-makers, 'fold' may be reflected as a fancy fold designed to change up the typical side or top fold style. And...that's 100% totally fine. Fold, however, can also include things like:  folding chairs, a fold in clothing/drapes, something 'folded' around something else (folded in a hug), folded clothes...and so on. As long as a 'fold' is visible (and explained, if need be) on your card/project, we'll be delighted. 

My ability to incorporate a 'fancy fold' into my usual card style is limited because for the life of me, I can't cut/fold straight. Not even a little bit! I need dies and how fortunate that I have the Pinkfresh Studio A2 Slider die in my collection.  

After several trial runs that wound up in the bin (no issue with the die; rather, operator errors and misfires LOL), I landed on this:

The watering can, tulips, label shape, sentiment and papers are all from My Creative Time.

Even though this was a challenge for me, I'm not putting the slider die away just yet. More possibilities to explore (and mistakes to correct!).

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #721, where our lovely hostess, Ina, has selected Purple, Orange and Mustard as this week's inspiration.

As this is our first challenge of the month, we're delighted to welcome our April guest designer: Colleen Begley. 

I've had an assortment of Spellbinders stitched letters and numbers for a while now and, for the letters at least, my card marks their debut with this Happy Birthday to You card. A sprig of posies and ta da...another card to add to the stash.

Color Hues Challenge #84 - Peach and Green - Just A Note Painted Peony (Concord and 9th, MCT)

Happy April 1st (already!) and welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #84. Our lovely hostess, Cindy, has selected hues of Peach and Green  - a wonderful combination Spring - as inspiration for the next two weeks.

We're delighted to have Donna joining us for this challenge.

My Concord & 9th Painted Peony stamp and die set is making yet another appearance. I love it! Another floral set that's dazzling in any colour.
