Inkspirational Challenge #368 - Word Prompt - For the Guys - Hockey Themed Cards (Ronron Designs, Simply Stated)

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #368 where, for the next two weeks (May 23 - June 5), we invite you to celebrate all things masculine with our Word Prompt:  “For the Guys” theme! Whether you make cards for fathers, brothers, husbands, sons, uncles or friends, we’d love to see your creative take on masculine designs, colours and styles. 

My 'For the Guys' cards are a nod to my hockey-playing nephew (who, by the way, is now 14 and is taller than me! ACK!!)

The focal image on my first card features a new-to-me product — rice paper — from Canadian company Ronron Designs. I absolutely loved working with this medium and can already tell I’ll be exploring it more; their collection of rice papers, stamps and stencils is fantastic. The background paper comes from my custom hockey collection by Simply Stated Design; the chipboard sentiment is from the 49 & Market Glimmer & Glee collection.

This card is 100% the hockey collection from Simply Stated Design.

I smiled all over my face while making these cards for my special guy!

Color Hues Challenge #133 - (Lime) Green and Violet - Happy Halloween

Mid-May already and with it, a warm welcome to Colour Hues Challenge #113 where Tracey invites us to play with hues of Lime Green/green and Violet for the next two weeks. Definitely a Spring combination...amongst other occasions. 

If you're going to give me violet and green as a combination, my mind will head directly to Halloween, as you can clearly see in my card below.  My Spellbinders' Craft-o-Ween ghost just had to come out for a play!

Inkspirational Challenge #367 - Visual Prompt - Floral Palette - Blended Petals Thank You for Being You (Concord and 9th)

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #367. For the next two weeks (May 9 - 22), we invite you to step into a garden of colour and imagination with this whimsical visual prompt inspired by an artist’s palette brought beautifully to life in blooms. Vibrant rainbow florals, painterly textures, an outdoor setting: plenty in this fun photo to spark your creativity.

Rainbow colours and flowers caught my eye, so I tried to combine both in the making of my card. The flower image - Concord & 9th's Blended Petals - I like; the ink blending, however, is a bit "meh" compared to the vision I hoped to achieve. 
I'm okay-ish with this, but...stay tuned for something brighter and more whimsical in the Reminder Post.
