Whew...the past two days at work were a whirlwind! The 'sudden dawning' that the school year is nearing an end (June 27 is the wrap for students; June 30th for staff) has started, and with it, a rush of students striving to wrap up assignments, write exams and study for their finals. My role, in our little outreach school, is to maintain 'calm' and offer reassurance that yes, you can still complete your course even though you've done little since February *grin*! And uh huh, they do roll their eyes at me, even thought they know I speak the truth. Some are hustling and bustling; others strolling and sauntering. Funny thing is...they're pretty resilient and in the end, when the deadlines loom large, most achieve what they need to do. Teenagers...gotta love 'em (usually...).
Speaking of deadlines, a certain 'someone' is also dithering around in getting her 'assignments' handed in! Perhaps I need that same 'talking to' that I give the kids about being ahead of the game. Doubt I'd listen...
Anyway, babbling aside, I do have a trio of cards to share, all inspired by the luscious, vibrant, I-so-want-to-live-in-that-space photo from Time Out Challenge #6
The rich colours, the pretty furniture, the lovely drapes, the brick and wood, the patio opened to trees and blooms...seriously, where IS this place of lavish beauty? Travel destination!!
My first two cards are simply simple, with the layout inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #78
I used one of the brush-stroke stamps from my new STAMPlorations acqusition (still having a love-fest with those!!), and sentiments from two others. I wasn't 'sure' about the circles on the first one, which lead to making the second, to see the difference. After sleeping on them for a couple nights, I've decided I like them both equally.
Here's the group:
NOTE: Incredibly honoured and delighted that my Dream card was selected as the TIME OUT winner. THANK YOU !!!
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments make my day!!
