Birthday Butterfly...Just Us Girls Challenge #339~Peach, Lavender and Ivory, Simon Says Monday Challenge~Butterflies, Make My Monday Challenge~Butterflies, AAA Cards Challenge #62~Anything Goes, Happy Little Stampers~Anything Goes

Hello,

Somebody in this little family-of-two is out riding *his* bike (yes, the epic training adventures have started...), and the other somebody is now taking over the supper duties a bit more often. This particular somebody is not well-versed in cooking (I'm much better a sous chef!), which is evidenced by the fact that I've spent the duration of what 'should' be food prep time making cards. Fortunately,  ribs are in the oven (forethought...yayyyy me!) and they're nearly at the 'what happens next' stage (seriously: I do NOT cook!).  I'd best post quickly and consult the recipe; the other somebody will be back very soon, likely ravenous after three hours of interval training. I need some interval training in supper making...

As for my card: BUTTERFLY! (warned you earlier...they're out in full force *grin*)

Inspiration from Just Us Girls Challenge #339~Peach, Lavender and Ivory, the DT's lovely cards and Lisa's gorgeous card/tag combination, in particular.

My Happy Little Stampers Butterfly, coloured with ONE lavender polychromos pencil (just added layers for 'depth'), and sentiment, with a TH stencil background, plus three ivory pearls...

My simple, pretty butterfly (this image is a favourite!) is joining the galleries at:

Okay...off to deal with these ribs.  Hope I can find some BBQ sauce in the fridge...

Thank you for spending time with me today; your visit brings me immense joy!

So pretty Carol - actually I've been thinking of getting some Polychromos pencils...not that I need more stuff! The delicate stencilling is beautiful and the pearls lo0ok like a trail of dew drops. Thank you for joining us at Make My Monday. Marina DT

Beautiful card! You do such a fabulous job coloring with those pencils. Yay! I adore the purple in the butterfly and the soft colors in the stenciled background. Your supper sounded yummy. If you have a crock pot (slow cooker) I put ribs in mine with a jar of honey bbq sauce emptied into it. I put it on high for four hours and the ribs come out amazing. Just a thought for you as your partner is out training. No muss, no fuss. :) Hugs!!

Mmm... Ribs...
Had to see what you came up with for the current JUGS challenge: I like what I see! Those pearls are the perfect addition.

When I saw the SSS theme for the week, I just knew *who* (you!!) would be all over that! And the card you've made is delightfully sweet and oh so Carol!! Love it! That soft peach color is divine, and I love your purply butterfly against that background. Gorgeous! And I've got a couple of good recipes for you, that if I don't have sh** for brains, I'll get in the mail to you. My sister Lisa makes the best ribs, and I make the best chicken EVER! And they're EZ too! Bonus!! Come and spend a week with me -- we'll cook and craft together! Miss you!! Bev

Love the background texture on this card, the simple-ness of it. And then that pop of color with the butterfly, beautifully colored. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us this week over at Just Us Girls. And good luck!!

Beautiful! You are sooooooo good at creating gorgeous stencilled backgrounds...a huge 'wow ka-pow' factor for subtle colors. Of course, the butterfly steals the show!

I'm with you on the cooking front. My best skill is the eating and cleaning up part. And, I have been known to make cards instead of cooking---can anyone say 'take out'. This is simply lovely--the bold butterfly over the subtle stencilling is a perfect contrast.

Your stenciled background is fabulous Carol! Always so soft and pretty and the perfect backdrop for your beautiful lavender butterfly! I love to cook but find the preparation so exhausting these days, what I need is a good sous chef--want the job? {wink} xo
