Just Us Girls Challenge #577~Photo Week...Spring Hoppy Sunday Drive

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #577, where our lovely Vicky has selected this Spring photo as this week's inspiration.

A big thank you to Shawna Standish for being our March guest designer. Once again, she dazzles us with her creativity with her wrap-up card. Please visit her blog to leave her some love then, enjoy the delights from my fabulous teammates. Plenty of signs of Spring on the blog!

Flowers, bunnies, Easter...those come to mind when I think of Spring, so I combined all three with my Hoppy Sunday Drive set. Oh my goodness, but this was fun to make! While the bigger bunnies in the front seat are cute, it's the trio of little bun-buns in the back that make me mega-watt smile. The family is off for a drive, delivering flowers and eggs (or perhaps collecting them) as they go along. I've made some Easter cards with this set, which will be heading into the mail this week. Hopefully, I'll remember to share them!

That's it from me; looking forward to seeing your takes on the Spring photo this week!

Also sharing at:

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers~L is for Layers. Everything on this card (except the greenery) has at least two layers because apparently, I'm 'stability' addicted.

Inkspirational Challenge #235~Designers Choice: Fur or Feathers....Bunny and Chicks Happy Everything Day

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #235, where Pia has selected Fur or Feathers as her Designer's Choice.

In an act of wild abandon *snort*, I'm bringing both fur AND feathers to the challenge! One bunny and two chicks (Stamping Bella) having a big ol' cuddle! And for those of you who know me: 'tis no easy feat to include our feathered friends on my cards, as I have major bird terror. These little fluff balls, though, are a bit of an exception; they seem quite content hugging their furry friend (and not running about, trying to peck anyone!).

Please check out my teammates' takes on the Designer's Choice, then play along with us!

Just Us Girls Challenge #576~Colour Week...Greenery Slimline Thankful for You (Yellow, Dark Green, Gray)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #576, where lovely Nancy invites us to Yellow, Dark Green and Grey for this week's palette.

Shawna joins us once again as our March Guest Designer.  Her card is marvelous, as are those by my teammates. If you have time to visit and share comments, that would be wonderfully appreciated.

So...I have pretty yellow and dark green ink, but grey? Not so much...even though I have greys from like four different companies, in four different formulations! Since I didn't want the grey to 'mess' with anything I'd make, I did what I often do when a colour combination is a bit our of my range: rifle through my patterned paper collection, in the hope of finding inspiration or, in this case, of finding a piece that actually works!  Once again, P13 paper to the rescue!  This luscious leafy pattern has several hues of both dark green and yellow, with hints of grey woven throughout. To accentuate the colours, I paired the paper with pale yellow and dark grey panels. A simple sentiment sticker finishes it off.  I tell you, those P13 papers are simply awe-mazing!

That's it from me; looking forward to seeing your Yellow, Dark Green and Gray delights in the gallery.

STAMPlorations Inspiration for Coffee Lovers 2021 Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello,

Time for the ever-awesome Coffee Lovers Spring | Summer Blog Hop, and today, I'm sharing a card as part of the team from Super Sponsor, STAMPlorations.

I've been having fun with the inlay die-cutting technique of late, and decided to give it a whirl with the  Zen Coffee 1 Cover Plate Die. As you can see, I went with 'highlight' inlaying with the image, focusing on the coffee pot and mug, the steam swirls and the coffee bean/leaves. My papers are from the gorgeous Marble collection from P13. The Coffee Word Die was the finishing touch; here you can see more of the swoon-inducing marble paper.

Be sure to head over to The Coffee Lovers blog for hop/prize details here and to STAMPlorations for details about loads of prizes here.

Happy Coffee Hopping!

Seize the Birthday Challenge #210~Sketch...Hope Your Birthday is Epic Gamer

Hello,

A bittersweet post today: I'm delighted to join the Seize the Birthday team for Challenge #210, but sad that it's my finale as their two months' Surprise Party Guest.  So grateful for the wonderful opportunity!

Anything Birthday Goes is always a choice here, along with the offering of an optional topping which, for this challenge, is a sketch.

While the dimensions of my images are a 'tad' larger than those on the sketch, I *think* I've met the sketch criteria. I brought out my MFT Game Controller dies and Level Up for my card.  A little something for the gamer (aka: my nephew) in my life!

THANK YOU, Nancy and the StB team, for the chance to play cards with you
in February and March! An honour and a ton of fun!

Thank you for dropping by!

Color Hues Challenge #14~Black & White...Wild Animals Thank You

Hello,

March mid-month (already!) which means time for Colour Hues Challenge #14, where our sweet Hannelie has selected Black & White - an always striking combination - as our hues for the next two weeks.

As easy as it 'should be' to create a black/white card, I didn't find it to be so...toooooo many ideas! I finally settled on using a long-ago acquired, but not yet used, stamp/die combo from Picket Fence: Animals of the Wild. So simple to create the gang of critters uncoloured! Thank You is from The Stamp Market; 'for accepting my craziness' from PF Small Ways to Say Thanks. You would not believe how many phrases are in that set! Good thing I went on a stash-venture!

Please visit the rest of the team, along with our guest designer, Shawna; they've created quite the array of dazzling delights with Black and White:

The challenge is open until 9:00 AM (EST) on Mar. 29th.
The winners will be posted an hour before our next challenge goes live on April 1st.
The overall winner will have the opportunity to be a
future Guest Designer!

Thank you for dropping by!

STAMPlorations Reminder~March 2021 CAS Challenge...Text Talk

Hello,

Welcome to my reminder post for STAMPlorations' March 2021 CAS challenge. Anything Goes is always the theme with an optional colour twist which, this month, is dark green + mint green. Pretty!

In my first post for this challenge, I used the retro typewriter from Hello You; this time, I reached for the retro cell phones to create a little 'let's meet' chat between friends. The phones are nestled into panels cut the from the Basic A2 Panels Nesting Dies, while the Circles All Over Texture Cover Plate adds texture to the mint green panel. The heart speech bubbles are my nod to dark green. It looks really simplistic in the photo; in real life, it's kinda cute.

That's it from me; time for you to play along.
  • You can find Challenge details here. PLEASE READ as they've been updated.
  • If you decide to purchase some of the products I - or other designers have used - head over to the STAMPlorations Online Store (always great deals to be had!)
  • To receive an additional 20% off your purchases, I invite you to use my discount code: STAMPGIRLCAROL.

Perfectly CAS March 2021 Challenge~Birthday...Birthday Phone Call

Hello,

Welcome to the Perfectly CAS March 2021 Challenge, where our theme is BIRTHDAY. Talk about an excellent opportunity to top up your stash!

My card features the adorable mouse + phone combo from Waffle Flower's Secret Admirer set. I'm smitten with this wonderfully versatile set and, especially, that delightful retro phone!

Please be sure to pop by my teammates' blogs, leave them some love, then bring your Perfectly CAS Birthday creations to the gallery.
  • A friendly reminder: For this challenge, we're asking you to use one-third (aka: the rule of thirds) or less on your card designs, leaving plenty of scrumptious white space (two-thirds of your panel) to draw our eyes to to your focal image. Kylie has included an easy-to-follow explanation on the challenge blog here.

Hope you're staying safe and healthy!

Just Us Girls Challenge #575~Embossing Folder...You Two will make Amazing Parents, A House is not a Home without Paw Prints, Thanks for All You Do Butterfly collage

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #575, where lovely Bobby invites us to use embossing folders, which are gaining popularity at light speed, especially the 3D ones, as this week's Trend.

Shawna joins us once again as our March Guest Designer.  Her card is marvelous, as are those by my teammates. If you have time to visit and share comments, that would be wonderfully appreciated.

I don't have many embossing folders and they certainly haven't had a play in ages. Revisiting them was fun, even though I'm rusty and not particularly well-versed in using them 'creatively'. Result: a trio of cards that are essentially 'emboss-and-go'. Simplicity!  I may need to explore the 3D versions more carefully and, especially, check out some of the cool techniques that can be used with them. That's one of the many perks of card-making: always something new to try (and buy *grin*).

I've had this Paw Prints one for a while and I'm not sure quite how it fits for a card. Perhaps it's better suited for a simple frame to display as a piece of home decor. The message is one I whole-heartedly agree with!

And here's my little Lily, who's paw prints make our house a home!!

That's it from me; looking forward to seeing your embossing folder delights in the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

HLS March 2021 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge...T-Shirts Bear and Free Hugs

Hello,

Canada's own Your Next Stamp carries a fabulous selection of cute stamps/dies and the cards I'm sharing here are but a snippet of said cuteness!  Cool Tees is precisely that: a t-shirt that you can transform into 'cool'  using a selection of the fabulous images and sentiments.  The huggy bear and free hugs make for a sweet t-shirts; one each for my niece and nephew, of course! Two turns of Concord & 9ths XO turnabout reinforces hugs & kisses....

That's it from me! Check out what my talented teammates have created, then bring out your dies and join us in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

HLS March 2021 Stencil Challenge...Rainbow Happy Days

Hello,

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers March 2021 Stencil Challenge, where Anything Goes goes!

Rainbow - inspired by the logo, of course! This little number, Donna's Rainbow, is from Funky Fossil designs. The panel is a tad larger than I typically use, but I wanted to ensure that I captured nearly 'all' of the image. The clouds - because I 'need' dimension on my cards - are from MFT; the sentiment, also from Funky Fossil, comes from Find Your Rainbow .

Looking forward to seeing your stencil sensations in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #234~Photo Challenge...You are my Favourite Human (Photoplay and MCT)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #234, where we have an adorable Westie looking out the window as our Photo prompt. So incredibly cute!!

*Obviously,* this sweet pup is waiting for his favourite human to come home, to play ball with him. Looking at his leaning-forward and perked-up-ears stance, I think said person is likely only steps away from opening the door, soon to be greeted by an excited bundle of furry love!

With that as my story...here's *my* Lily!  Loads of balls on the patterned paper and a slimline with die-cut paw-prints made a great base for my little girl. I know - this image isn't a mini schnauzer, but we can pretend, right!  Everything, except for the bases, are from Photoplay.

And here's Lily, snoozing after a busy day of chasing balls, going on a long walk, chasing more balls, tackling her alligator and having a rodeo with her bear.  She'll nap for oh, 20 minutes, then be ready and rarin' to go. She's a rambunctious, energetic girl!

I had so much fun with this card that I made several more...you'll see them down the road, I'm sure!

Please check out my teammates' takes on the photo, then play along with us!
