Back with a second card - and minimal babbling (I hear you cheering!):

Heading to the galleries at:

Freshly Made Sketches #250

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge~Flamingo

Uniko Challenge #35~Inspired by a Song Title.

My inspiration (okay, okay...I remembered it 'after the fact') is from Tracy Byrd's song, "Pink Flamingos' (some good country twang happening in that tune!)

Less is More Challenge #290~Exotic (if my card is too busy, totally understand if you remove it from the gallery)

That's all from me.  Watching the  Olympic closing ceremonies is my next 'do' task. I'll miss the excitement that's kept me entertained for the past couple of weeks.  The Tour of Spain road bike race (Spain's 'equivalent' of the Tour de France), however, has started...that makes me happy.  Actually, it makes my husband super happy *grin

Thanks so much for spending part of your day with me; your visit brings me joy!

Mr. Count's Ghoulish Greetings....My Creative Time Sketch Challenge

I'm home (insert very sad face) from my quick trip to see my family, but I'll be heading back Sept. 1st (fingers crossed) to spend an 'extra' long weekend (insert very happy face) with them.  Hopefully, I'll be able to walk Ms. T to her second day of Grade 1 when next I visit.  On Wednesday (three more sleeps), we're traveling west to see my husband's family once again, so between now and then, *someone* has several DT cards to start...and finish!  Of course, I should have been doing that today, but nope!  Challenges to play in!! Assignments will happen tomorrow (says the Queen of Procrastinating *grin*)

My card here was inspired by My Creative Time Sketch Challenge:

I have a significant number of MCT stamps/dies.  Emma's blog - with her fantastic videos, exponential enthusiasm, fabulous products and outstanding service -  was my #1 discovery when I first started in this sport, and she continues to be an incredibly creative - and 'enabling' - influence.  I decided that, for this challenge, my cutie-patootie little mummy and ghost from my previous post needed a companion.

Enter my oh-so-scary, scary Mr. Count vampire, which was a MCT freebie stamp/die from last year.  I paired him with a spider and sentiments from the Too Cute To Spook Stamps and Dies, along with a 'water-coloured' brush strokes background from the Watercolour Background and Script set (couldn't find the link).  The Boo and bat are cut from shimmery black cardstock. Because of the 'glare', I've shared two photos: one so you can see the 'spooky' sheen and one without....

Emma asked that we include a *twist* with this challenge: an embellishment or a 'something' that we haven't used/done in a while.  I have two. The first is painting my vampire with dye inks, which I can't recollect having done ever.  Worked quite well, overall. The second: stamping a greeting inside. The last time I did that....hmmmm...Christmas, I believe.  Happy Halloween and a wee spider: seemed like a good pairing to me...

Felt good to play at my craft counter (aka: kitchen counter) after nearly a week of being away. Next trek to mom's, I'll be sure to pack my mobile crafting unit. As we all know, sometimes Mr. Mojo likes to wander when we don't give him enough play time...

Thanks so much for spending part of your day with me; your visit brings me joy!

Happy Anniversary (for my husband)...Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #207~Make Your Mark, CAS(E) this Sketch #185, The Heart Desires Challenge #3, Just Us Girls #356~Trend Week: Watercolour

My fabulous DT and I welcome you to Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #207~Make Your Mark.  Bring out your paints, pencils, crayons, markers - whatever tools and devices you have - to 'make a mark' on your project.  So many possibilities...

Guess what I did?  Watercolour! I Did. So!! Look what my Distress markers and I created:  an anniversary card for my husband.  We'll be celebrating FIVE years later this month (married later in life...I was a 'mature' bride *grin*).  And yes, I am very incredibly happy to be 'stuck' with him!

Apologies for the rather ''muted' photo, but after a zillion twists and turns with trying to get 'decent' lighting, this is the best I could manage for a stand-up pose.  Below is the same card, laying flat.

Just as a side note: we had a very small wedding - 19 people.  My brother was my 'maid of honour' and my husband's brother, his best man.  Three guys and girl: that's our wedding photo..
My design was inspired by oh-so-creative Leigh's CAS(E) this Sketch #185

and the idea for images came from The Heart Desires Challenge #3 photo inspiration (plants and metallics - the gold beneath the row of x's and o's - are my element choices). I love cacti and I love my husband so..winning combination all around! In fact, one of my favourite places, back when we used to travel to Tucson, AZ, is the cactus forest at Saguro Natural Park.  Such a fascinating place...we need to plan another visit...

Because I actually 'did' watercolour, I'm also joining Just Us Girls #356~Trend Week: Watercolour

Your turn!
What "Make Your Mark' creativity will you bring to the ATSM gallery this week?
Looking forward to finding out!

For even more incentive, *you* could be the winner of 2 digi stamps from our generous sponsor:  STAMPlorations. Enticing, right?

Thank you for spending part of your day with me; your visit brings me joy!

Shaker Hugs...Inkspirational Challenge #115~Patterned Paper, Little Tangles #71~Shakers and Sequins

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #115, where our fabulous guest designer, Kathy, along with my amazing team - SandieMarinaShaunaPiaNonni, Yvonne (Kim's on vacation, lucky gal!) - and I, invite you to use patterned paper on your project.

Patterned that's something that I use rarely these days, even though I have quite a selection.  Actually, said 'selection' needs a good clean up!  Too many remnants, along with too many "what was I thinking" pieces. "Organize paper'' added to my to do list.

In my previous post, I 'warned' you that I was on a shaker-kick *grin* and, consequently that's how I chose to use patterned paper.  These are simple, basic shakers...nothing 'challenging' involved...which is why they were such fun to make. (Neat and Tangled Heart of Gold Die, Neat and Tangled My Sunshine, Neat and Tangled Lot to Say die, Winnie and Walter Hugs die)

Here's Card 1...

As you can see, I'm still smitten with the gold shimmer paper.

and Card 2.

Turning the stage over to you!
Looking forward to seeing your patterned paper artistry in the gallery!
