Peace*Love*Joy...two more...The Paper Players Challenge #324~Snowflakes, STAMPlorations Theme & Sketch Challenge~Stamps and Collage, Twelve Days of Christmas Challenge

Hello,

Okay, we're on Day 3 of plain old ridiculously cold temperatures. Minus 32C as a HIGH! Yeesh...

Anyway, I *had* to create two more deer cards (sorry...) using snowflakes and glitter paper...

That's it from me...off to curl up under a quilt and try to warm up!

For the Love of All Things Merry & Bright...Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #223~Holiday

Hello,

Welcome to Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #223~Holiday, which is *exactly* the incentive I need to get my last few (okay, more than a few) cards made.  Still the enveloping, addressing, stamping and post-office trekking to go. I can do it!!

In a recent card I designed for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #265, I wondered what the sketch would look like with snowflakes. Wondering lead to action, and the results are this...

(Delicata Gold ink makes for such pretty sparkle)
and this....

(Memento's Silver Platinum on the larger snowflakes...a subtle shimmer...)

Perhaps not as 'vibrant' as my original card, but the Uniko Stunning Snowflakes images are truly lovely no matter what colour the ink and they play nicely with my STAMPlorations Warm Hands, Warm Hearts sentiment.

Spotlight shifted to you!
Looking forward to seeing your Holiday inspired designs in the gallery!

Peace*Love*Joy...Kylie's Twelve Days of Christmas Cards Challenge (Dec. 4 - 15th)

Hello,

A while back I received an invitation from Kylie, the energetic, super creative talent behind a number of challenge blogs, as well as the owner/designer of Happy Little Stampers. She's also my awesome *boss lady* at Addicted to Stamps and More and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies Challenges.
  • The task: to create a Christmas card to inspire and encourage you (or, more aptly in my case, to encourage ME) to get our cards done...and to share what we've been designing.
  • My response: Heck, YES!  So here I am, with my card for Day 4 (December 7th) of her challenge:

Inspiration came from two sources: the fabulous cards designed by Sarah (Sazzle Dazzle Crafts) to showcase the new Uniko release and the oh-so-warm-and-cozy photo over at The Card Concept Challenge #63

Wish I would have discovered this 'clean and layered design' earlier...quite easy to replicate. I'm going to try this with some other images, since 'someone' still has cards to make!!

Not only is inspiration galore happening until Dec. 15th, but Kylie's also extending a warm welcome for you to share your cards in the gallery here.  She has some fabulous sponsors lined up...wouldn't a little 'something special' in your Christmas stockings be wonderful?

Looking forward to seeing what Kylie and her guests have in store for us over the next few days AND to seeing what you'll be bringing to the festivities!!

'Tis the Season...Uniko Challenge #38, Freshly Made Sketches #265

Hello,

We are entering the freezer zone here...and it's expected to last for the entire week! Temperatures hovering around highs of -18C and lows of -26C (-4F to -15F) is enough to have my timbers shivering, I tell you!  Time to bring out the mondo North Face parka!

Anyway...on a warmer note....Let me show you what happened when I married Freshly Made Sketches #265
with the gorgeous photo over at Uniko Challenge #38. That fireplace...the sparkly tree...the garland on the mantle...oh my!

NOTE: thrilled to be selected for an Honourable Mention at Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #265! THANK YOU!!

I wonder what would happen if I tried this with snowflakes?  Perhaps we'll see....

Peace...Inkspirational Challenge #123~Designer's Choice: CAS with Sparkle

Hello,

First, a round of applause for the fabulous *chill* creations so many of you brought to the Inkspirational gallery over the past two weeks!  So. Much. Inspiration!  Thank you for supporting our challenges!

Time for the team and I, along with our wonderful guest designer, Tracey M, to welcome you to Inkspirational Challenge #123, where you're invited to 'make the season bright' by adding *sparkle* to your CAS creations!  Sprinkles of glitter, gold embossing, a scattering of sequins, a shaker...so many choices!

For the longest time, I've had a swoon-fest over a gorgeous card (click here) created by Vanessa Menhorn, for Winnie & Walter's blog.  A while back, I ordered the ingredients to case her card...and this challenge provided incentive to do so.  Actually, forget the 'casing'...I shamelessly copied her card (her's is much prettier), with only one 'switch': Nuvo Blizzard White droplets in place of her pretty sequins.  Using dies for embossing is rare for me, but after seeing the results with this technique, especially with this particular card's style...well, let's just say, I'll be trying this out more often. Actually, 'more often' already happened: I wound up with 8 of these, switching up the gold Peace with other colours: red, green, white, copper.

Here's a red version,  just because...

Please visit the Inksprational blog, where you'll be treated to stellar sparkle designs by

Your turn!
Bring out your best sparkly stuff and share your 'CAS glamour' in the gallery!
See you there!

Peace on Earth...STAMPlorations December CAS Card Challenge #12~Anything CAS goes (optional colour twist: Red & Green)

Hello,

Happy December...and welcome to STAMPlorations December CAS Card Challenge #12 where Anything CAS Goes. This time, as befits the season, the optional colour twist is red and green.

Once again, I'm honoured to be joining the team as a Guest Designer (how quickly these three months have flown!) and for this challenge, I've brought some new-to-me products out for a play.  Figuring out my design took a while, but I finally did: with sparks coming from EK's fabulous inspiration card over at Muse Challenge #194:

Her 'all over' leaves were the starting point, followed by the 'pops' of colour, which I 'hope' are reflected in my card.  Please welcome the Peace On Earth die, cut in red foil cardstock, set atop a Holly Background Mini stencil created with distress inks and sporting a Wink of Stella coating. The panel is cut from my favorite Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting dies.  So easy to re-create...a little dabbing here, a little dabbling there, a die cut here, a bit of adhesive and done...total time likely under 15 minutes. More of these on my radar!

Hopefully, my card has given you ideas for CAS designs, using the optional twist of red & green. For way more fabulous inspiration, please head over to the STAMPlorations blog, to see what the rest of the team, along with the other two guest designers, have created. You'll be delighted!  After that, create something CAS-ilicous of your own and...

Join us in the gallery!
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Here are the absolutely friendly, simple "rules":

You can link up to 3 CAS cards.
You can enter a CAS card with or without the optional color twist.
Non-STAMPlorations products are OK
Badges for winner and top picks are voted by the design team
1 winner drawn from those who use the color twist wins a $10 gift certificate
See? All the more reasons to play along!!!

Snowflakes and Reindeer....FUSION

Hello,

No, I have NOT finished creating my Christmas cards! Still a few (dozen!) more to go and yes, panic is on the horizon.  Fortunately, our new Fusion~It's Christmas Challenge, with the gorgeous image and friendly sketch, sparked ideas for a couple more cards:

My first card drew inspiration from the patterns on the pretty, pretty, pretty background pillows: snowflakes on the one; the grey of the second.  Fusing them resulted in this card...grey snowflakes using Uniko's Stunning Snowflakes and Altenew grey ink), with pops of Nuvo White Blizzard Drops in their centers. I  need a darker grey cardstock in my collection, because wouldn't this be pretty with white embossed snowflakes?  I digress....

My second card draws from the beautiful arrangement in the foreground: the woodgrain of the container, reflected in my birch embossed background; the deer; the round ornaments, translated into a snowflake; and a bit of 'shimmer', created by a trio of Nuvo droplets.

Joy...absolute joy in seeing this stunning home decor.  Oh, to have this replicated in my own home...

For outstanding inspiration, please visit my amazing team-mates. Gorgeous designs...

For those of you new to FUSION challenges, and for those good friends returning: a quick outline/reminder of how things work:

PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.

Your turn!
What sparks your creativity? Sketch? Photo? Both?
Looking forward to seeing how this FUSION challenge will inspire you!

Just a note: this is our last challenge of 2016.  We'll be back in January with an exciting challenge to kick off the New Year!
