Happy...MUSE #83, Butterfly Challenge #13

Hello...

I've been with my family since Thursday evening, and as you can imagine, Aunty C is in her glory! Hugs, cuddles, giggles galore with my niece and nephew; I just love them to bits and pieces!  We'll be heading home later today, after my husband finishes up with the final stage of the Tour of Alberta pro bike race. Between now and then, I'm maximizing every minute I can with the kiddos. We'll be meeting up with them at church, then they're coming over to my parents' place. I think Ms. T has 'playing school' in mind, or using my new water-colour paints; she told me she'll decide when she gets here. Mr. C...he's 'whatever goes...'  They are a blast!

Before heading north, I made a card for the current challenge over at  Muse  #83, where Vicki's lovely card is the featured inspiration.  When butterflies are involved, I'm so in!!

I went 'opposites' with my take, using my memento pink/red inks for sponging both the background and the butterfly.

I'm also entering the gallery at Butterfly Challenge #13~Butterfly with a Sentiment

Rushing off to get ready. Later this week, I'll be chatting up an awesome new distributor I found...and yes, I did a splurge!!

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!

  1. Ms. T and Mr. C, are so lucky to have you for their 'Auntie'! I'll bet they adore you, Carol!
Two really beautiful butterfly cards! I love how the black one pops against your water colored background, and the ombre effect you achieved on the 2nd card is so pretty! Your angled panels look amazing, too! I can't wait to see what you have to share with us later in the week :)

  7. Oh Carol I bet too you are getting lots of hugs and cuddles as well as lots of giggles! So fun to be with your family and so hard to leave. I think of you often when I see bikers go past my house. I have no clue as to what kind of bike racing they are doing, but they don't seem to be in a real hurry but they are in uniforms. lol I love your take on the challenge card! The colors you used are amazing and look so vibrant! Your card does just what it says, makes me happy!! Hugs, Brenda

  8. Ms T is so funny! Hope you have fun playing school, or with watercolours, or whichever activity your young miss decides on. Enjoy, as I know you will, your family time. :) Onto your card...inspired to use "opposites"! The background is so pretty as is the butterfly and it pops, as does the greeting, against the black panel. Prettttty! :)

Love how you pulled a switch-a-roo and used black for the panel that the BEAUTIFUL butterfly is perched upon - it makes the gorgeous thing totally POP. And OMG your shading is crazy awesome!! The pink shading in the background - oh SO pretty!! <3

  16. First of all, and most importantly is the great, amazing love you have for your cute, sweet niece and nephew!! You are the best auntie ever to adore them so much and spend such quality time with them!! Oh, then, your card, sorry got distracted by your awesome aunt-iness! But your card is so lovely - I love the opposites thing that you did here!! Your butterfly is soft, and serenely lovely!! I am loving the way you sponged a background and then added a layer of black for that butterfly to rest on!! Phenomenal card and you are still the best!!

  18. I'm guessing you had a blast with T. & C. I leave for a sleep-over with the 4 in Madison tomorrow...have craft all ready to make with the kids! I know Miss Lily will be all over that! Now. As to your lovely creation...it's a real beauty, and I predict a winner with this one. Your (signature) butterfly is gorgeous. And your sponging is perfect. Love this. : ) Bev
