Sideways *Spooky* ... Seize the Sketch #5, Curtain Call: Spooky Scene

Wednesday - and we're still snow free, although the first flakes are forecast for tomorrow.  Morning temperatures are already cooler, leaving frost on the windshield, resulting in early morning tricep/bicep exercise.  Frost on trees: ever so pretty.  Frost on windshield: blech.  Oh, to have a house with a garage...a craftroom,..a built-in vacuum (I happen to like vacuuming, but lugging around Mr. Kenmore, navigating corners, untangling hoses and cords, does become trying...)...an open concept floor layout in a three bedroom bungalow.  Ooops, digressed into my 'if I won a lottery' fantasy.  Anyway...

This week, as is the case for many of us, fall, Thanksgiving and Halloween, with measures of Christmas evident, are forefront on my crafting agenda. This post is another Halloween-themed featuring my little 'sideways' Spooky die and ghost, and a couple of jack o'lanterns, using Clearly Besotted dies (CB = awesome, fabuluous products, customer service, and inspiration!!) for Seize the Sketch #5

Simple, as is the sketch and oh so spooky, spooky, as is the inspiration photo:

We get maybe a handful of 'trick or treators' at our place (yet we buy candy enough for 50.  Husband - chocolate addict!!) so my Halloween card fascination is purely because Halloween 'stuff' is darling, inviting creativity.  Plus, it's yet another excuse to make cards for my niece and nephew.  Then again, *anything* is an excuse to create for them, or create, period.  Too much fun...

Thanks for dropping by; your visit and comments are welcomed and ever so appreciated!

Totally adorable card, Carol! You are an expert at using sketches! Flakes in the forecast already?! I'm still hoping for a camping trip before winter gets here.

What a sweet spooky card, Carol ... love the little spectre peeking out from behind the sentiment! Frost? What? Now? Snow? Oh, well, I guess that means skiing's not too far away! Anita :)

I cannot believe you're getting frost and talking about snow at the beginning of October! I thought we had cold weather in the UK! At least you're getting to work out your arms without having to go to the gym ;)

This card is just fabulous!! I love Halloween cards but never make any myself as I have no use for them..?! Kinda makes me wish I lived on the other side of the pond so I could join in ;)

Thank you so much for the fantastic comment you left on my blog - I was really bowled over, it made my whole week - you are too sweet ;)

Spookishly delightful!!! The ghost and pumpinks are over the moon sweet and I love the sentiment! How is it that ghosts can be spooky and oh so adorable all at the same time?!!
I think we have even less trick-or-treaters over here! (although I'm pretty sure my husband buys enough candy to feed 100 of them - he thinks I don't know that the *real* reason he buys them is for himself!!). I would love it if we had more kids - I would be making little treat toppers like a crazy woman, but alas, we are lucky to get one!
I'm shivering just thinking about the snow and the scraping!! I am so lucky now to have a garage. Never had one until we moved to our townhouse just over two years ago. (Well that's not if you include the "dark days" when we had a single car garage that my then-husband parked in year round, leaving me on the street every year to scrape!! - oh yeah!!) - oh, did I just sound bitter??!! ha ha!!!

Thar ya go agin gerl....using tidbits of perfectly coordinated paper and creating a wonderfully clean and simple design that packs a huge punch! The kind of punch that doesn't hurt though....I'm talking the visually appealing kind of punch!

Love the stitched border - perfectly simple way to showcase Mr. Sideways Ghosty and the joyous Punmpkin Felllas (I'm thinking they're guys, cuz if they were girls, they likely would have had their teeth fixed!)

Cutely spooky! Not enough to scare a little one whatsoever. Love the sentiment... Did you 'stitch' that yourself? Cute li'l punkins too! Great card, Carol. Not buying candy again this year...too much of a temptation for me! lol. Bev

I agree on the kudos to CB. I do NOT agree on liking vacuuming!! I DO love your card. I've tried using that sketch a number of times without success - your ghost peeking out is just the right touch!

This spoooky card is just too cute! The ghost coming out from behind the "spooky" is a fantastic touch.
