Four-Square Floral Thanks...FUSION #11

My disorganization continues as once more I'm nearing Mr. Linky closing the door on me.  So, without further ado, here's the FUSION #11 challenge that caught my eye:

At the start of the week, my 'mojo' was lagging behind somewhat - I'm shouldering part of the blame on the weekend's bike races! - but then I remembered my new pad of Studio Calico Sundrifter.  The eye-catching piece (which I'm now hoarding!!) for this card is the black and white floral print.  Gorgeous - and just begs to be coloured.  Soooo...

I sectioned up a square of that lovely artwork into four pieces, placed them on a black background (yes, yes...it's slightly askew. Crazy-making!! Shopping plans, however, are on the agenda to address this, because I can't stand this any longer.  Crookedness be gone!!  *breathe in; breathe out*  Okay, back to normal...), then selected a few of the tie colours to shade in some of the flowers with a combination of crayola pencils and some inks that I applied with a make-up brush (I know, I know, but since I don't wear make-up, it just seemed 'right' to put it to good use...).  My brand-spanking new PS Thanks die saw some action and ta-dahhh....done.  The bottom right square is a peek at what the full page is like.  Swoon-worthy....

Now, I'm off to scope out my 'make things straight' *must have* product. Oone of these days, I'll conquer the crookedness!

Thanks for dropping in; please let me know you did! Your comments are always welcome and appreciated, immensely!

Love this Carol! That paper is amazing, and I love how you've colored it so beautifully. I'm waiting for my new cutter which I've ordered from Oh My Crafts. Like you, I'm tired of 'crookedness'!! I've ordered a Cutterpillar...once it gets here, I'll let you know if it was worth the price. Gorgeous card my friend. Bev : )

Your wonderful die cut sediment and the "just so" chosen spots of coloring off-set any crookedness, Carol. If there is any, the eye isn't seeing it!!

Wow - that paper is amazing....and so is your coloring! Love how you randomly colored bits and pieces - creates a trendy, artsy feel to your card.

My spacing or "crookedness be gone" trick: Go to your nearest hardware store and buy a package of tile spacers. They come in 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 (and maybe higher). The are made of sturdy foam and shaped liked an "X:...so pop a push pin in the center to act as a handle, place it on your paper, butt the corners of your papers into the tile spacers....done like dinner and perfectly square!

So this is - um - MY FAVE CARD EVER!!! I just LOVE how you coloured it so beautifully! I am still oogling over it! The mostly pinks, with pops of turquoise and orange...aaahhhh! And SO creative to just colour parts of it! The 'thanks' die cut just ties it all together. So, so awesome! Crooked?? Don't even see it!

Let me know when you find that tool that solves the crooked problem, although I must say, yours doesn't look crooked to me. Brilliant way to use that paper--love it, Carol!

This is beautiful. I love how you chose to only color in various flowers. It makes it more interesting that way. This is great!
