Soda-Delighted...Inspirational Challenge #102 ~Pop

Hello!

After missing the last challenge (hanging my head in shame, althoughI did have the *out of town and no mobile crafting unit with me* as an excuse), I'm back in the groove with the fabulous gals over at Inkspirational.

For the  next two weeks, our marvelous, talented, guest designer, who I know we all LURVE to bits and pieces, Tenia, from Jazzy Paper Designs, my fabulous team-mates (also deeply loved) - Sandie, Marina, Shauna, Pia, Nonni, Kim - and I, invite you to play along with Inkspirational Challenge #102

*POP*...what a great word! Just saying it makes me feel all effervescent and happy!  From bursts of colour, to 'popped' up images, to pop art and music...oh, the possibilities that pop to mind (sorry, had to *grin*). 

My take? Well, to use one of Tenia's phrases: CHECK IT...

My new Soda POP dies and stamps from MFT came out for a play,and they're set atop a 'bubbles' stenciled background, from STAMPlorations.  Obviously, I need a keener eye when it comes to aligning both the bottles and their badges, but...for a 'prototype' of cards I'll be making for my niece's three kindergarten teachers, I'm happy.  I'll work on eliminating 'slightly askew' in the real ones...

On a slightly different, but related note: I'm currently infatuated with using stencils, and in looking for ideas (because let's face it...I use stencils in the most simple, direct fashion), I found an amazing FREE (yes, FREE), online series by a talented designer (also Canadian, I might add): Justine Hovey. Her cards are amazing; her videos, fan-tas-tic!  So, to show how much I appreciate her investment of time and creativity, I'm linking my card at her place.

Typewriter Love...Tag You're It Challenge #40

Hello, Hello...

A half-day work schedule for me today, then I'm off for a week! Yahoooo!!! We're heading west to visit my husband's family, returning on Monday.  No major plans for what I'll do once we're back, but I'm sure I'll find something to keep me occupied...cards, hanging out, maybe tackling a long-neglected, need-to-finish cross-stitch project. I'm very good at keeping myself entertained....

Plenty of hearts have been adorning my cards, of late, so I went with a slightly different expression of love with this tag:

 

Here's how Jen's tag inspired me:

• Image: her fabulous sketchy heart = my typewriter (sporting a wee heart, too)
• Colour: red = red; kraft = kraft (yes, obvious..)
• Background: her stenciling on pink = my patterned pink paper mini file
• Sentiment: her *I love you* tag = my *I love you* tab

Butterfly Encouragement...FUSION~Paper Hearts, Mint Owl Designs Studio~Share the Love Event, Butterfly Challenge #48~S is for Stamping

Hello,

Aren't those water-coloured hearts in the FUSION~Paper Hearts photo gorgeous! The 'water-coloured' element, however, almost convinced me not to play along because noooooooooo way was I going to enter into the zone of being stress with my inabilities when it comes to this technique (I did try...and rather than carry on, using up paper, time and cuss words *grin*). 

 

Instead, I came up with a different approach...my pretty lacy butterfly, distress inks, and some good ol' huffing and puffing on the stamp once it was inked, which landed me with not one, but three cards that make me happy (hope they have the same effect on you)...

Since these will be fluttering their way to family and friends very soon, I'm adding them to the heart-warming, spirit-lifting challenge over at new-to-me Mint Owl Studio~Share the Love Event

I haven't played in Mrs. A's challenges for a while, so I'm joining her gallery at Butterfly Challenge #48~S is for Stamping.

Bird Family Valentine...CAS Colours & Sketches #159~Colours, Just Us Girls #329~Word Week: Valentine, Allsorts Challenge #349~CAS

Hello, hello...

I'm zooming in at warp speed to share my card for CAS Colours and Sketches #159~Colours

I had my brother's family in mind when I made this...although I'm  not sure my nephew would be 'tickled pink' to be stamped in pink. Then again, he's only three and eleven months old (gahhhh....four is approaching way too fast for Aunty C!). 

I've sent this off to my sister-in-law who can, in turn, send it to someone special in their lives; a kinda-sorta "family" Valentine. Oh yes: they've all been heavily Wink of Stella-ed...a shiny-feathered gathering...

Puzzle Pieces...MUSE Challenge #51, CASology Challenge #183~Glitter

Sunday evening...already! Are you watching Super Bowl? My husband is, and I think it's apparent what I'm doing. Actually, I'm hoping for a Budweiser Clydesdale commercial...

Anyway, a quick post because I have "Joy, joy, joy, joy, deep in my heart" that I was able to *play cards* with our sweet, punny Michele over at MUSE Challenge #151

No song titles accompany my card (I'm tune-less these days *grin*), BUT I've drawn inspiration from:

• 4 repeated images, with one 'slightly' different (my 'missing' piece stands alone, flat to the panel)
• red and white 
• hearts
• "uses' the word love that is 'implied' in Michele's.

And, that's all I've got! Hope it passes the litmus test of being MUSE-connected.

My wee hearts are cut from glitter paper, so I'm taking my small offering to CASology Challenge #183~Glitter

A week of work and then a week off (well, nearly a week: I do have to pop into work next Thursday and Friday for a bit...). I'm sooooo ready for some time off (which is rather pathetic, given the semester just started...)! We're planning to visit my husband's family over the weekend, returning Monday. Hopefully, the amazing weather forecast will come to fruition, blessing us with safe travels...

Glittery pretty, aren't they? And that sprinkle icing...yummo! 

This week, my fabulous team and I invite you to join us in this marvelous colour challenge. Our wonderful sponsor, The Paper Shelter, provided us with digital images to showcase, as well as a $15 Gift Certificate for the challenge winner.

For my image, I *had* to go with the Whimsical Dragon because he and his darling starry friends are over-the-moon adorable!  I used my polychromos pencils (in love!) to colour him, and while I didn't 'quite' manage berry, I think I came close. Of course, that just means more pencils to add to my wish list!  You can't see this based on my photo (oh, to have a decent place to take photos), but the three smiley stars, as well as the dragon's teeth and nails (seriously: a pinkish dragon needs to have a bright white smile and manicured nails!), are Glossy Accent shimmery.  A silver glitter cardstock as the background panel, a sprinkle of shiny stenciled stars, a sentiment and...ta dahhhhh! White, Berry and Silver, at your service! 

Soooo...after you've visited my team and wandered over to the photo inspiration source (just for 'temptation's sake), I hope you'll head to your crafting haven and use this colour combination to create a delectable delight for us.  I know your designs will be wonderfully creative and wonderfully inspiring!

I'm on a Valentine kick (hey, what a surprise *grin*). I've already made 32 plus 'somethings' for my niece and nephew's classmates (and didn't take photos...d-uh! My sister-in-law will be doing that favour for me) and now I'm working on cards for their teachers. Three were done and delivered during my recent trip.
