Is time flying by at warp speed for you the way it is for me? How did we arrive at nearly the end of October already? Yikes! I still haven't finished the Halloween 'somethings' I'm making for my niece and nephew's classmates and daycare pals! Getting close, but still a few things to do...I'll be sharing soon...stay tuned.
Okay, down to the business at hand! A warm welcome to the newest FUSION~Soft and Subtle challenge where we're inviting you to draw inspiration from the gorgeous bouquet or the fabulous sketch or a combination of both. I confess: I pointed out those pretty blooms to my husband. Hint! Hint! I don't 'need' flowers, however, if some were to magically appear, I wouldn't be too upset *grin*
A second confession: I found the challenge a bit daunting. The flowers are SO pretty that I didn't want to 'mess up' their impact with my interpretation that wouldn't do them justice. The sketch, while certainly appealing and open to a zillion possibilities, has 'strips' that I have troubles with. I obviously need more dies to help me in that department (or a heavy dose of Mr. Mojo to see alternatives). Finally, after several starts-and-not-finishes, I opted to focus on the colours - the light/slighter deeper rose, to be precise - as well as what roses represent - love. I wound up with this....
NOTE: Honoured to be selected as one of Top 5 Winners over at Allsorts Challenge #385~Pink October! THANK YOU!
My card looks 'basic,' but in real life, its a-shimmer with distress inks that have been liberally perfect pearls spritzed (spun sugar and worn lipstick for the 'hearts'' festive berries for the veins). Simply simple, despite the convoluted journey it took to get there. I'm pleased with my Concord and 9th 'leafy love hearts'; I hope they make you smile, too.
For more inspiration, check out my incredibly talented team-mates' designs. Here's the list...do drop in for a visit, leave them some love....
then, craft a card of your own and join us in the gallery. Remember, the process is simple:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. HAVE FUN!!!
See you in the gallery!
