Hello,
We're watching Olympics today; the women's road cycling race, specifically. One of our Canadian racers competing today as well in the time trial scheduled for later in the week, is a gal I taught many years ago - Tara Whitten. Cheering her on loudly!
I imagine that many of you are also watching the Games, so I'll be quick and pretty much babble-free.
Two cards today, both with 'water' as their key theme:
Card 1: I used my Zigs (I know...flabbergasting that we had yet another bonding moment!) to watercolour the pretty Daisy Border from STAMPlorations...
Card 2. Thank you for indulging me with yet another play date with my marvelous layering seahorse set. I promise I'll put them away....at least for a while! The 'water' connection: the sea creatures, the 'bubbles', the water-splatter in the little "ocean" inked sentiment strip.
My layout comes from Freshly Made Sketches #248, a reversed and *slightly* adapted version...
The galleries I'm heading to:
Both cards: CASology Week #209~Watercolour
Just Us Girls Challenge #355~Word Week: Water
Daisy Border: STAMPlorations August 2016 CAS Card Challenge~Anything Goes
and Anything Goes Challenge
Seahorse Card: Colour Throwdown #404 (I don't have a full-fledged aqua ink, so I kept what I had as close to that shade as I could...)
Off to watch the race finale. Alas, our Canadian women aren't in medal contention, but I'm applauding those who are; this is one challenging, sketchy race course (as evidenced by the number of crashes in the men's race, yesterday! Yikes!)...
Thank you so much for spending part of your day with me; your visit brings me joy!

Such sweet cards! Love your watercoloring! Glad you joined us at FMS!
Wow, I outdent decide which I like the best, so it will have to be a tie. Love the border of daisies with just a touch of zig, beautiful then the blended strip (perfect) the sea creatures and your wonderful splatter/bubbles. Love them, brilliant both.
Gorgeous cards - especially the first one! LOVE how you used that stamp!

Such lovely cards... Loved them...
Two fabulous cards and beautifully laid out. Your brown and blue card is perfect for our colour challenge at Less is More and the more I see of that stamp set the more I want it! Thanks so much for sharing with us :) Esther (Less is More)
Oh Carol! You have two gorgeous cards here. Both make me smile so big! I adore the colorful daisies! Practice may make fun for you after all! :) I also like that the daisies have the musical background. Are they singing? :) Maybe happy birthday! You can use that seahorse as many times as your heart desires, my friend. You create delightful cards with it. This one is so soft and pretty. I just about hear the ocean in the background. I listened to and turned around a lot during that men's bike race (tv is behind me in my crafty space) as the men were cycling. Wow! Lots of crashes! Shocked the announcers that is for sure. Hope you have a fabulous day, my friend. Place with those watercolors some more. :) Big hugs!!
Gorgeous cards! LOVE the soft, serene feel to the second card. Thank you for playing along with us at Color Throwdown this week!

These are both gorgeous, Carol, but I am especially partial to the second card. Wonder why?? Love that sweet seahorse and the gorgeously blended sentiment panel. Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
How fun to know somebody in the Olympics!! (I had to look her up - sounds like she is fully focused on the time trials later! And then I read a bit further and saw she had a fractured skull earlier this year. These athletes are amazing (or insane)!
Beautiful use of our sketch!! Love the softly colored water with the two sea creatures! Thanks for playing along.
Both cards are gorgeous...the flowers are just amazing, all in a row and so beautifully colored! The "water' scene for JUGS is fantastic! that seahorse is just darling...keep using him, he is a keeper! Thank you for joining us over at Just Us Girls!

2 lovely cards!
See. The more you use the Zigs the more comfortable you are with them. The daisies are wonderful and I can't say enough about the background you created for your new pet, Sam the seahorse. I think he deserves a name, don't you, Carol?
Fabulous! I love the way you colored the flowers so brightly! Thanks for joining us at the STAMPlorations CAS Challenge!
