To be honest, I had a struggle-fest with the challenge this go-round, because I was "too focused" on using certain markers (yes, my *friends*, the distress markers) and certain images. We won't talk about the number of attempts made, until I finally arrived at something I 'sort of' like (it's growing on me). I used distress markers to colour the image, huffed and puffed to activate the inks, then stamped onto a 4 X 4 panel of water-colour paper. I resisted the urge to colour in the image; the 'lines' of the stamp are pretty as is. My husband agreed; he called it 'rustic'...

I love the look of this, Carol! Think it's so soft and beautiful...no coloring needed!
All your huffing and puffing resulted in a pretty card! And your husband liked it! What more would anyone want?
I think using your Distress Markers on these images was such a great choice, Carol! I love that you resisted coloring them in, and your stitched border is fabulous! Really gorgeous card!!!
You did right to resist, Carol ... this is so soft and delicate and pretty ... so calming! Hugs, Anita :)
A one-layer beauty, Carol! Agree with your hubby -- this has a rustic feel! Hugs!
Great choice Carol, I love the subtle effect you created. :)
Good morning sweetie, this is just stunning!! It looks like you have hand stitched it, I think it is fabulous so soft and dreamy, another amazing creation hugs Pops x x x
I think this is perfect as it is, it is hard with this challenge to sometimes go over the top with the colouring (like I did this week!) but often the more rustic (cool hubby) the better x
I love the "rustic" look~ :)
Lovely delicate stamping, Carol!
I love the outlined look! It looks gorgeous. I really like the stitching around the outside too.
Oh I totally agree with the "pretty as is"! This is very pretty!! I love the outline of the stamp stamped in the different colors! I can also see how it would be hard to resist the urge to color it in. I'm thinking I would have had to stamp two and color one just too see how it looked! heheh! Beautiful work my friend! ((Hugs))
I think it is wonderful that you resisted the urge, the outline is so gorgeous and brings out the elegance of the images. The faux stitched edge adds even more elegance! Well played Carol!
That colored outline is perfect as is - glad you didn't color it in - gorgeous!
Holy smokes!! Gorgeous!! I LOVE that you didn;t color it in!! Just fabulous!!
Carol, Rustic indeed! I like it as it is, no coloring needed at all! and looks really good!
I like that u used different colors to highlight different areas on the images, looks perfect !
