I completed my two cards yesterday afternoon/evening (card-making takes me eons of time...does anyone else experience that??), and used ideas from the course combined with the inspiration from FUSION #4.
My masculine card is up first, and follows Jackie's sketch. I discovered a never-used 'tie die' (???) and jaunty hat die in my collection, and figured they'd serve well in creating a 'guy' card.
The feminine version is a FUSION. In selecting my papers, I 'tried' to reflect the colours from Lesley's challenge but...they're not as 'soft' as I hoped them to be once I started creating my collage. Perhaps I should have caved in to the temptation to go with pastels or more 'girly' colours. Oh well...I'm hoping the combination of "images" - TAWS Petal Pusher blooms, a glittery PS Flap Happy Butterfly, flowery embossing folder - meets the feminine criteria "reasonably" well.
Finally, here's my His and Hers side by side....
Hmmm...my feminine card looks a bit frenzied...
Thanks for dropping by, and please know that your comments are welcomed and appreciated, deeply.
Happy MAY 1...hope your day is warm and sunny (and frenzy free...!)...

Wow your colors are amazing and I just love the textures :)
Two great cards from the sketch - love the "tie" flowerand the textures & colors of the second card are amazing - you really did fuse the two challenges!
Such a fun pair of his/hers cards. I think the colors on both are fantastic, and I love all those ties with the hat. Great work. ;-) Thank you so much for joining our Fusion challenge this week.
What a creative use of a tie - it's fabulous! And I LOVE the colors on the feminine card - so cheerful!
My grandpa had a hat like that - wow that takes me back a ways.. Love the "tie wheel", clever girl! Your girl card is so sweet, great embossing folder and perfect with white paper, which doesn't distract from the flowers. Nice on both!! Bev
Oh I love your his and hers versions of the challenge...super FUN! Thanks for playing with us at Fusion!!!
The tie & hat die are fabulous! Any idea who the manufacturer is! Guy cards can be so difficult...these dies would sure help. You did an amazing job interpreting the sketch with your "tie wheel" and hat. The DP that you chose is so totally testosterone rich!
The fusion gal card knocked my socks off. Seriously amazing stuff! I love to see bolder colors used on feminine cards - gives the card a sense of 'strength'. Beautifully designed!
Another very successful day in the classroom!
Cool His & Hers cards - LOVE your tie wheel Carol - just FAB!
So glad you joined in experimenting @ FUSION this week - hope to see you again soon :)
Check you out, c!! I've never met anyone before with both hat and tie dies! How perfectly marvelous for the dreaded masculine cards. Love your frenzied female card, too! Well done!!
PS Carol, your embossed card would be perfect to link up this week at Catered Crop! http://cateredcrop.com/2013/04/28/make-an-impression-recipe-swap/
