A long weekend, and we have a list of chores "this long" to tackle, so you're being treated to a flash post today! Welcome to Inkspirational Callenge #135, where the theme for the next two weeks is *URBAN*.
Our guest designer this week, is ultra-talented, mega-sweet Aileen, from Colour and Sparkle fame for her blog and @huh_what_pardon on instagram. When you read her bio, you'll understand. In addition to her impressive creativity, she has an awesome sense of humour! Her card is nothing short of marvelous, as are those created by my sweet - and witty - teammates:
Plan 1 was to use my Paper Smooches city-scape die which, despite my valiant searching attempts, I couldn't find..grrr! The disappointment was short-lived, as I remembered my new Houses stamps from STAMPlorations. Execute Plan 2. My set of cards are more suburban than urban but...I believe I meet the definition (yayyy for Wikipedia, *grin*) of: 'relating to, or characteristic of cities or towns.'
So, without further ado, here are my Houses cards, with the images very very very loosely water-coloured with Tombow markers. I haven't completely given up on water-colouring...yet.
Apologies for the blurriness on some of these; I'm at my wit's end in trying to find ways/ places to get good photos consistently. I spend more time taking-deleting-editing-deleting, repeat x 1000 - and still ending up with lame results - than I do making cards! Yeesh!
Kind of a girly neighbourhood.
Sometimes a little house can be a 'big' home.
I wasn't going to share this crowded little number, with the 'sort of' smooshed Hello, but decided why not? It's not especially well done, but in real life, it is kind of artsy cute-ish...
There you have it: my take on *Urban* with a trio of 'congrats on your new home' cards (plus the outlier). Speaking of new homes....oops! Gotta go! We'll 'address' that topic later....
You know the routine!
Looking forward to seeing your takes on *Urban* in the Ink gallery!

These area all so cute, colorful and fun! Great job with the STAMPlorations houses. And with watercoloring too!
I was just typing a comment and the screen jumped and it disappeared. Bahh humbug hate that having to start again.
I love your cards they are all wonderful right down to one you werent going to share.
Thank you so much for the wonderful rap, nothing like reading about how good you are. So very appreciated. You wouldnt believe what I went through for this challenge, rmember I was really sick...... Well I somehow thought the word was interior, yes I know where did I get that from. I made two cards, went to send them and realised I had stuffed up. I crack myself up sometimes.
You are so fun, Carol! I just thoroughly enjoy each and every post of yours. These house cards are fabulous. The way you've colored them helps them stand out and be noticed! I really like the last card, too with the background pattern paper look of all the houses. Maybe to help the hello stand out just a tad more, you could use a black pen around the edges? I love the smooshing! Great job! Hugs! :)
These are all so much FUN!
What a great set of cards - great stamping, lovely colours.
Whoa... look at those funky, fun, colorful houses! Fantastic take on Urban! The faux stitching just tops it all off.

Each and every card has a particular appeal to me - as in 'I could live in this one, this one, this one, too!' of course you live next door in each case - with Aileen on the other side!!! Fabulous cards, Carol! right down to the last artsy cute-ish one!
xx
Wow! That's a heck of a Plan B that you came up with! I love how these cards turned out. I'm totally inspired and impressed at how many different looks you were able to create here. And I love the whimsical coloring you did with your markers. I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite, but I really like the concept of the black and white houses with the one "new house" colored. So creative! I'm so glad you shared your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
Awesome card series! You must have too much time on hand, LOL! I love the alll, they are charming! As for the picture taking nightmare - you can end it easily - check this out - I usually only take two pictures per card....

I want to live on these streets! Totally fun to color and even more fun receiving one of these happy new home wishes! As for the "crowded little number, with the 'sort of' smooshed Hello"... I LOVE IT!!! So fun and funky!
This stamp set has been on my wish list! Love those cute houses! And your series of cards showcase them beautifully! Very fun, colorful, and inspiring!
Would love to play in this challenge but not sure if I find time! The end of the school year is always crazy busy!
Four cards AND watercoloring? What is your world coming to, Carol. They all look great but I love the artsy all smooshed together houses. That must have take a lot of masking. I have that set but I guess I won't be using it for the challenge. ;)
ALL are wonderful, Carol!
And ooh the photo taking...I can completely relate.
Well, of course I love all of these cards, right? My fave is definitely the last one - very artsy!
These neighborhoods are all so fun! Thanks so much for joining us at the STAMPlorations CAS Challenge!
