Hello, Have A Lovely Day...The Challenge #55

Hello,

Our sweet friend, Bev, from Happy Dance fame, is the featured designer over at The Challenge #55,

dazzling us with this pretty shimmery scribbled flower delight:

How could I *not* play along?  So I did, using my new, very-much-smitten-with  Lovely Spring stamp and die set:

I'm not skilled when it comes to 'side' panels of any sort (my edges are always askew, unless I have dies to help me out. I need some 'strip' ones...any suggestions?) and for some reason, a few challenges this past week have asked for those very things. Stretched my boundaries, they did!  For this card,  rather than cut a strip, I went with random-ish stamping on the panel.  Added a wreath, a couple of sentiments, some popped up die-cut flowers and ta dahhhh!

Actually, this wound up being the fifth card I made using Lovely Spring, because...well, I also haven't dabbled very much with creating 'random' backgrounds.  Before designing this card, I went in search of some 'practice' material, and found precisely what I needed over at incredibly talented Yoosun Hur's site, Rejoicing Crafts.  She created stunning cards, which I basically translated here. Hers are  much prettier, with the extra details she added (twine, sequins...), but mine do make me smile. Hope they have the same impact on the people I'll be sending them to....

Dashing off because the link is about to close...

I'll be back soon...

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday; thank you for spending part of it with me!

I'll trade a few cut strips for some hand stamped ones, Carol. I don't do those backgrounds well and your turned out beautifully. Don't know of a strip die but I'd leave it long enough on each end and then cut them off along the card edge after they're glued down. Just a thought.

Wow, what beautiful cards Carol! I love your first one, you did a great job of stamping a panel on this card, love it! I also love the backgrounds you made for the other cards. So gorgeous and I know these will put a giant smile on the faces of who you sent them to! Love the stamp set too, flowers are always a winner in my book. Hugs, Brenda

Oh Carol, I come over here and get a happy Spring garden! How lovely! I'm not sure if I am understanding what kind of strip thing you are asking about. On your first card, the one side looks amazing to me! Random stamping on a background...well it looks like you've got that covered as well! :) It looks amazing. And your final card makes me just about swoon, it's so pretty! I'm not sure where to get this set, but I might have to do some research, I adore what you have created with it. You have some very lucky recipients to send them to!! Hugs!!
