Hello again!
Yes, you've read my blog heading right. Me. Participating in a water-colour blog hop. I so enjoy the water-coloured delights many of you create, however, I don't care one iota for my water-colouring. In fact, I don't even know why I own water-colouring supplies; even more astonishing (ridiculous, actually), is the fact that about a month ago, I bought Prima watercolour pencils to go along with my infrequently used twinkling H2Os and distress inks. Evidently, I readily succumb to 'peer pressure.' I'm blaming the Prima purchase squarely on Kristina Werner and the video she shared here.
Those pencils, staring at me day-in-day out, paired with sweet Paulina's Pretty Pink Posh~Watercolour Blog Hop
lead to another *sighhhh* 'Let's give this a try yet again' episode. And I did (we won't count the # of attempts). This time, I went with the water brush-to-pencil method. Nothing fancy-schmancy in the grand scheme, but after letting it sit a couple nights and looking at it from a couple different angles...hmmmm, I might just like the final result:
My layout - with the middle panel popped up - was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #126

Whew...water-colouring done for the time being! Who knows what trend will test my evidently weak will power next...perhaps bird images will be joining my collection, after all!
Time to make supper than head to bed...I'm heat-exhausted!
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day.
Hugs,

Hi Carol!
Your card is very pretty! Your attemps were worth it ♥ I love the colors and the 3D effect of the card.
Have a great day!
Don't stop now!! It's brilliant...don't put those pencils away they are itching to play again. Fabulous...give yourself a stripe, I love it! (your card not the stripe). xx
Ooooh, Carol, I am SO with you on the big sigh and wondering why one tries to watercolor when so many others do it so well. (Been there and done that so many times myself) I'm SO glad you tried again (and again) as your final result is so very pretty! Wow! Congrats on stepping out of your comfort zone and meeting success! :) Have a happy day!
What a lovely card, and great sketch.
I sat right back in my chair when I saw this, Carol! It stunned me! You have done such beautiful watercoloring and NAILED the CTS sketch. I think you have another winner here!! Hugs, Darnell
Oh Carol it's just lovely!!! Just a year ago I remember myself saying I would never by/use distress inks and I had done watercoloring years ago and wasn't even going to go there again.... well, look at me now! That's all I do! haha! I can't imagine life before watercolors! You need to give them another chance, because this card looks amazing to me!! I want to see some watercolored butterflies next!! haha! (Hugs) my friend!! :)
Very very, water-colored beautiful! Whichever you choose, you make any trend, trendier, c... birds? YES!
=] m
Oh, this is so pretty, Carol! Wonderful take on the sketch!
Ah, just slosh it on, it's fine! (It also means you don't have to be neat, yeah!). It's fab, BTW. And birds. You need birds. :))
Lovely card
Lovely use of the daisy!!
What a gorgeous card! I really don't see why you wouldn't like it, the water coloring came out great! You should leave those pencils out and keep coloring!
Great use of the sketch! Love the big daisies!
Well I know that I am loving the results!!! You did amazing with your watercoloring Carol! I think with the pencils it is easier to go with the water brush to the pencil rather than the pencil to the paper and then blending out. I guess each has their own way, but I would have did it like you did. lol I love your take on the sketch to my friend, your card is just fabulous! Hugs, Brenda
You should be very happy with the results. I love this. Beautiful water coloring! You've rocked the sketch, too. Looks like a winner to me. Psst - get the birds. You know you need them hehe.
Hi carol! Can I say thank you for your wonderful comment on my blog . You are so sweet and you make wonderful cards! I love your design and watercoloring !! Just beautiful !! New follower :-)
I think that this is utterly and totally fabulous - that you should think anything other than that means maybe your eyes need to be checked!!! =] Love the colors you chose and the softness that you used to bring these daisies to life!! Wonderful card and gorgeous take on the sketch - you are a MARVEL and I adore you!! Have a wonderful week!!
This is so pretty. I was wondering if I was at the wrong blog, not seeing any butterflies (!) Love your coloring, and I think that you are not giving yourself enough credit for your talent and skill. I've popped over to that video link you shared, and will try to watch it tomorrow, as I am pretty well spent tonight. I've got some water color pencils just waiting for me.
Absolutely gorgeous, Carol. Fab colours!
x Asha
Oh, this is awesome! Such pretty flowers!
Hehe!! Your watercoloring is fabulous! Love how you used the watercolor pencils, great technique!! Going to have to try that!!
This is wonderful Carol. Love the images, the placement, the water coloring and the sentiment is wonderful. I got a set of watercolors for my birthday and I am dying to break into them. I have used watercolor pencils before but I am a bit intimidated by them. you did a great job. I have to go watch KW's video - she has made me buy so many things... lol

This is a very pretty card Carol using one of my favourite stamps! Love how you've interpreted the sketch and used the subtle w/c to great effect.
Thanks for linking up at STAMPlorations as well! xx
So pretty, Carol ... good for you 'giving it another go' ... seems to me you're rather talented at watercolouring! Hugs, Anita :)

so clever using that sketch
and this is a winner card on my eyes
i dont know where are you miss C
but I always remember you hehe
I miss to visit you
I will do it today to catch up
hugs, Monika
You just need to keep practicing, Carol. Not because this card isn't lovely but to give yourself confidence, You really can watercolor. This card proves it.
I feel the same as you about water colouring. I love seeing what other people do but I'm not very good at all. I tried using watercolour pencils but when I coloured and then added my brush with water, the effect was not very pretty. I like using the Distress Inks and those new Zig brushes look cool but I don't think I will ever be very good at it. I think your flowers look beautiful. They are the perfect image to water colour and you did such a great job with the shading (which I always have trouble with). I was wondering myself the other day what the next trend will be...I hope its not too hard or expensive!!
I think your watercolor looks stunning!! :) Really love the soft pastel colors of the flowers and your take with the sketch is spot on!! Really gorgeous card!!
Oh, this is so pretty, Carol! Such a perfect take on the sketch! Beautiful masking, too!
Such a beautiful card...love your pastel colored daisies, they are so sweet. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
I can't believe I've gotten so far behind on your blog and that I'm just seeing this STUNNING card! Your water coloring is just beautiful, Carol! I love the soft pastels and your CAS design is sheer perfection! Keep going with water coloring...you're doing great!
Absolutely beautiful!
....SITS mode commenting in action! Now I'm off to see your next great card!
Beautiful daisies :)
Trying to catch up--beautiful flowers & use of the sketch, Carol!
I love that you haven't given up on watercolouring! You've made such a sweet card! :)
