Weekends are toooo short! We wound up heading into the city yesterday, where we ventured into Costco (silly us...Costco on a Saturday...yikes!) before I dropped my husband off at his 'city' office (as I mentioned, he's up past his eye-balls in work), while I went for a mall stroll. No purchases beyond a cup of coffee, but a couple of dresses caught my eye. Pretty florals; really pretty. If only I worked in a place that wasn't blaring with air conditioning (yes, you read that right: air conditioning is on in some fashion all. year. long! The fact that we need it maybe five days a year doesn't seem to faze the 'temperature control' folks much. They call it 'air circulation'; the rest of us call it hypothermia), I'd be wearing dresses more often, but...goose-pimply arms and legs aren't exactly stylish.
Anyway...two Thank You cards to share today. Double-inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches #188
and CAS-ual Fridays #140~White, Tan and One Bright Colour, prompted the first card.
The Pink Elephant #300~Anything Goes
Flank steak on the BBQ,, prepared and tended to by my husband (yes, I am incredibly lucky), so I'd best get going on my salad and bread preparations (yes, I am *not* a cook)...
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
Hugs,

Oh I love it! And I hear you about air conditioning...so overused. Thanks for joining us at So Suzy Stamps!
I have caught up on all the beauties you made while I was busy with graduation festivities this week--everything just lovely, especially those stencilled beauties from your last post, and the incredible leaves from this one. Need to go look up those stamps. And, holy cow for the die cutting and butterflies that hit me top and center on this post. Gosh, I can see that this relationship is going to start costing me big bucks!
Beautiful cards, Carol! I really love the first one with that neat "thanks"--unique & beautifully crafted!
Gorgeous creations sweetie, love the leaf one reminds me of autumn I so wish it was here already hate spring and summer, love when I can finally step in my garden and breath without struggling oh it cannot come fast enough for me hugs Pops x
Oh I hear you - weekends fly by way too quickly. On the plus side, Monday is done and dusted so only four more days til a three day long weekend! I'm ready already. Brrr, your workplace sounds f-f-freezing. Your cards however look cool, in a good way! Those pretty butterflies just pop against the backdrop of the "thanks". And as for the second card, yes, the background suits those delicate lacy leaves perfectly. :) Beautiful work as always, my friend!
Beautiful work, Carol! Sorry you had to deal with arctic temps while shopping. That's no fun! But it didn't seem to affect your mojo. These cards are lovely. Of course, butterflies. Yes, please. I like the die you used for the sentiment. The background on the second card is so pretty! As are the leaves. Lovely work. Oh and thank you so very much for stopping by my blog and leaving such kind words about my project. I so appreciate it! Big hugs!

Congrats on being a favorite at FMS, Carol. It wasn't until I saw the winners post that I realized I had written down the wrong deadline and I had a card ready. :(
Our school always had to have "fresh" air coming in all year long too, we froze in the winter and we would have heat strokes in the spring. No one ever wore their "cute" clothes like dresses and spring arm and leg showing clothes. I guess it is that way everywhere! I love, love your card. Your take on the sketch is fabulous! I have fallen in love with those butterflies! Your second card, oh my your second card is just stunning! I love those lacy veined leaves and your sponged background is just perfect to show case these beauties! Love the water droplets, they finish this card off perfectly!! Hugs, Brenda
Two gorgeous cards, Carol! I'm loving those new CB butterflies (going to the top of my wishlist) and how pretty they are with your sentiment! I also love how you created your ombre effect on the 2nd card...It really makes those stunning leaves pop!
