Enjoy the Ride...FUSION, Addicted to CAS: Challenge #40 - Transport, TIME OUT Challenge #7: Summer, Addicted to Stamps and More #99: CAS

Good Morning,

I'm still on a high from one of the most amazing weekends EVER!  Nearly two full days with my niece and nephew was nothing short of spectacular.  We went to the bike races, where my niece raced with gusto, coming in 8th in the under 5 category.  My nephew, who was all gung ho earlier in the day, entered into the "I should be napping" pouts just minutes before the race started.  No amount of encouraging would change his mind.  Maybe next year. After some strolling through candy stores and wandering about Banff, I headed off to my officiating duties. I performed my lap counting well, even though in the last race - which is the highest category of racers, and the ones who should have the most expertise -  I was 'nearly' taken out when they came far, far tooooo close to me in my little zone, clearly marked by pylons. My lap counter went flying! Not impressed even for a second but we managed to restore the situation, gathering my strewn number pages before they came around again. I should have added an extra 10 laps to the 50 they had to race for riding in such a sketchy fashion!  At that point, however, the rain had started to pour down, so finishing was the only thing on everyone's mind.

Back at our place, we spent the evening and all day Sunday playing, and simply spending time together. Memories to treasure!  Highlights galore - and I'll share some in the next short while.  For now, because I'm running close to challenges closing (gee, what a surprise...me parachuting in last minute!!), and need to get to work early (supervising a Grade 12 Diploma exam - today and tomorrow morning, from 8 - 12), I'm sharing a card I created yesterday.

My colour and sketch inspiration come from FUSION: Home-made Flowers, Bright Colours and an Array of Possibilities,

The key image I chose fits into Addicted to CAS Challenge #40:  Transport,

Evidently, the bike races over the weekend had a direct influence on my card....

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments make my day!

Those riders clearly need to understand exactly how much power you have over them!!

Those swooshes of butterflies makes this a lovely bicycling scene!

Hey, you tell them bikers they can't run my Carol over and get away with it!! You want me to come and get after them?!! lol That sounded like a big YIKES moment!! I'm so glad that you were not hit!! I bet too you made lots of memories with your niece and nephew, it's so fun isn't it?!! I so love when the grands come and just stay with us, of course it doesn't happen near enough for this grandma. lol I love, love this card Carol! The colors are so spot on to the inspiration picture and I love how you turned the sketch, spot on! Love that bike stamp and die, and the butterflies are just perfect. Looks like they are flying out from the basket! And of course the scalloped borders are fabulous. As always you deliver perfectly! Hugs, Brenda

Your card is darling, Carol :) Love how you used the colours and smile when I saw the bike. I do have a rather good mental image of you as that biker whizzed by...sorry wink, wink. Think I would have added a few laps to their time trial - sheesh! Glad you are in one piece ((hugs)). So glad you had a great time with your niece and nephew too :) Little kids bring such joy and the wonder of life back into our calloused minds - love them!!

Carol...sorry to be so behind on commenting. Summer camp has kept me very busy. But not neat as busy as you have been. Sounds like you had a blast of a weekend with your family too, you have to be the BEST aunt on the planet, right? I always love hearing your stories. Your sweet bike it just the best and in those colors too, they don't get cuter than this. And your butterflies flutterying by...so sweet. Enjoy your week...sending hugs your way.
