Amazing Butterflies...Fusion~Sweet Orange Blossoms, Just Us Girls #342~Butterfly, STAMPlorations~Anything Goes, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge~Stencil It

Hello,

Hope your Monday was marvelous! Here, it's cool and a bit drizzly.  We need the rain, desperately. Actually, the firefighters in the nearly-burned out city nine hours north of us - Fort McMurray - need rain and cool temperatures, desperately. I'm not sure if you've seen/heard the news, but close to 100,000 people have been displaced due to a raging beast of a fire that flared up last week. So sad...On the plus side, they're resilient folks, those Fort Mac people, and already, they're preparing, when the word is given, to return, revitalize, re-emerge.  I wish them God-speed in getting their lives - their 'new' lives - started. May their journey 'home' be safe...secure...promising.

I have a card to share!

When I created my dragonflies card, as seen in my previous post, the butterflies from the same set were fluttering their wings for a chance to play, too.  And so they did!

My inspiration, as with the dragonflies, is FUSION~Sweet Orange Blossoms

See...

  7. Thank you for beautifully articulating what we are wishing and hoping for for the people affected by that devastating fire. My heart goes out to them. I'm selfishly happy that it isn't near you, though! Your card is absolutely fabulous. I'm ridiculously happy that those butterflies got to flutter onto this card. Your color choices are fantastic. Look at those wings! Wow! And that background. Simple and oh so effective. Beautiful work, my friend! I'm all kinds of smiley. :)

  9. How pretty you colored those butterflies perfectly! And the stenciled background is just wonderful! Fiery colors!!! - My heart goes out to those people in Fort McMurray and to the destruction of a beautiful forest and all the animals who did not escape this... so sad. I wish I could have send you some of the rain we had in the month of May....

  15. I love your stenciling behind those bright, whimsical butterflies, Carol. Such a beautiful card and I'm glad you joined the challenge at Just Us Girls this week. When I first heard about the fire I had to get out a map of Canada to make sure you weren't in harms way. I'll add my prayers to yours for those who have lost everything but continue to persevere.

  29. ADORE this card, a deserving winner at JUGS. The Fort Mac fires are quite something!! My heart goes out to everyone there. Have a patient who works up there so can't wait to talk to him when he has his two weeks off and comes into the clinic to get an "on the ground" report!
