Winnie & Walter WCMD...Sketched with Gayatri, Use Metallic/Gold with Lydia, Watercolour with Vanessa

Hello,

Ahhh...Sunday evening, the second day of a long weekend!  The weather over the past couple of days has been crafting-perfect: rainy, windy, blustery, cool!  Yes, I took full advantage!

I'm playing - last minute posting, of course - in the fabulous Winnie & Walter's

with three challenges.

First, the Craftie Challenge. Eeasy-peasy: all we needed to do was take a photo of our craftie space. I've mentioned repetitively that my zone is the size of a postage stamp; namely, the kitchen counter between the fridge and the sink.  That is all.  I have a little bookshelf to store stuff, but the work itself is all done...are you ready...right here...

Yes  it's tidied up (somewhat) because we do have to use that space for its intended purpose on occasion...

Moving along...Given my current Halloween-frameof-mind, it's little wonder that I'm absolutely 100000% smitten with the card featured in the Sketched with Gayatri challenge.  Artsy cool...and oh, how I wish I had that stamp set!

Essentially, I replicated Gayatri's card (minus the words, which creates  collage charm I adore in hers)....

Since I used gold foil for my spider web, I'm also sharing at the Use Metallic/Gold with Lydia

My second card is a beyond-belief stretch for me:  my first (and last, trust me...I'm ridden with guilt over the number of trees'worth of paper I recycled in getting this ONE panel) attempt at smooshing , inspired by the Watercolour with Vanessa challenge.  After all that cussing smooshing, I decided to tread gingerly so as not to cause any mishaps; my hugs die and a couple of sweet little leaves.

Thank you to the wonderful folks at Winnie & Walter for the inspiration and the opportunity to stretch our skills and supplies.  I can tell you this: the Halloween set is on my *must have* list...and I did notice some *new* items on a couple of cards!

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday evening; thank you so much for dropping by!

Hugs,

I am so impressed that all these works of art you share are created in your little postage stamp of a crafty space. It just goes to show, where there's a will, there's a way! Good reminder to embrace the space we have! You cards are fabulous, too my friend. I adore your take on the Halloween card. You don't need the words, it looks great the way you created it. The smooshed card looks amazing, too. Adore the colors. I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday! I am grateful to have you in my life, if only virtually! Hugs!

Weren't those fun challenges! I played too and the best was the sep linky's within one post! Love your cards -- your tree wasting panel [hee hee] turned out great! Way to persevere! :)

I kill entire FORESTS trying to have control with watercolor or with smooshing. I simply have to have more control - and I don't stop until it does exactly what I want. Of course, this is pretty much the opposite of what needs to happen in a watercolor or smooshed background. Having said that, I'm glad you kept going because the colors are truly lovely. I like the simple white die cuts on top. I so agree with you on Gayatri's card - I'm not even big on Halloween, but her card made me gasp aloud!

Wow! You are living proof that one does not need a huge craft room furnished and decorated by a designer to be able to crank out beautiful cards! Thanks for sharing! your creative space
And I love your cards, the first one with the bats, spiders, and golden spider webs and the second one with that stunning background! I wish you didn't say it was your last one! You know, sometimes you can use backgrounds you don't like so much to die cut words or shapes and it will look good!

So it's you using up all the trees;) . You sure make wonderful cards in that small space, kinda forces you to keep it clean . Really how much space do we need! I love your take on Gayatri's Halloween card! Nice touch with the gold. Your background is Gorgeous and it take me way too many try's as well!

Your spooky, atmospheric halloween card is so fun, Carol ... and your smooshed delight is delicious ... gorgeous colours, crisp white die cuts ... I love it! Cute craft space ... mine also compact and bijou ... means everything to hand ... or fingertip!! Hugs, Anita :)

Your cards are both wonderful. Love those golden spider webs--you must have some very rich and fancy spiders where you are! And, your smooshed background is gorgeous, and just those die cuts are the perfect way to show it off.

I'm totally "Batty" over your first card! The gold webs ROCK...especially with the purple sponged backdrop!

2nd card...in my opinion....sploshing accomplished!!! Seriously, fabulous result! You're a brave girl. None of my attempts have made it to completion. Love the addition of the leaves too :)

Now I'm REALLY IMPRESSED, Carol! I can't believe that you can create such gorgeous cards in such a small space, but you do...Good for you! Love your take on Gayatri's card ~ Gold spider webs and your gorgeous purple inking/blending...so pretty! Love your water coloring on the 2nd card, too! I empathize with you on all the wasted paper...I do the same thing...but, alas, it was not in vain :)

I am super impressed Carol that you can create such amazing beauty in your craft area. I am envious that you can, I spread out way too far and then Ii am frustrated with the mess! Your cards are amazing, the gold foil webs and that gorgeous background. Lovely!

I adore that W&W set and encourage you to get it, Carol, although what you did with the gold webs is fantastic. And why are you so hard on yourself with the smooshing and watercoloring. I'd love to see some of those panels that hit the recycle bin. I bet they're not as bad as you think.
