Special Day Fox and Hello Zebra...Just Us Girls #306-Colour Week, Paper Smooches ~Anything Goes,, Cute Card Thursday #386~Anything Goes, CAS Colours & Sketches #127-Sketch

Hello,

For whatever reason, Monday morning I was obsessed with making a shaker card. No rhyme or reason, just *had* to. Overall, a totally illogical thing to do, as I'm not very adept at making shakers and my sequin stash is, well, somewhat laughable (which is why you don't see them adorning my cards very often).  To be clear: I have ever so pretty sequins, which I'm saving for who knows what (how about learning where to place the darn things!) and a bunch of 'not so quality' ones from oh...some store *grin*  It was those that I wanted to play with - use 'em up!

After many hours - TRUE STORY, and I'm not disclosing how long this took,  although I did have some distractions along the creation-journey - this is what materialized:

The zebra's expression pretty much says it all...so much time for such a little creation (4.5 x 4.5)...but it is kinda cute...sorta...

NOTE:  Thrilled and honoured that Mr. Zebra shaker card was selected as the JUGS Chic of the Week. THANK YOU!

After all that fiddling (and the realization that Mr. Mojo is still in the luggage, hiding), I made a second 'critter' card that required little more than die-cutting.  Nothing fancy; just my cutie-patootie Taylored Expressions Little Bits fox...

Yes, you've detected a colour theme happening here, the source being Just Us Girls #306~Colour Week

Mr. Fox's staging came from CAS Colours & Sketches #127~Sketch

I'm also heading off to Cute Card Thursday #386~Anything Goes and Paper Smooches August 16-22~Anything Goes (yep, Kim and DT...yet another zebra card!)

After the shaker debacle, I think I have shaker's out of my system...for now. Still a bunch of those sequins left though...and I could do a hippo card, because they're grew...and some red flowers and...maybe not. I'll save the hippo for something else.

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
Hugs,

Time well spent pal...two terrific creations are proof of that! ADORE your shaker card...something I have NEVER made either as I'm somewhat intimidated with the process! But you have definitely sparked my interest now. Might just be shakin', rattlin' & rollin' in the coming days! Great detail and yep, love the expression and the sentiment!

2nd card - absolutely adore the cuteness and the precise placement of the elements! A clean & simple creation that makes me smile!

That little fox could not be any cuter! He looks terrific in the grey, black and red color scheme, and I love that you've cut him mainly from textured cardstock. Thanks so much for making CC&S part of your crafting fun, and please join us again soon for another challenge!
Your zebra card turned out really cute, too!

After that shaker thing hit you, it ricocheted down to me. You have to wait til the next ATSM challenge to see it though. I'd say that zebra is saying just what the card does "Let's Play". That's so perfect for a shaker card. Love the foxy one, too. I'm working on my red, black and gray card as we speak. Well as soon as I quit typing. lol

Your shaker card is SO adorable, and for not being adept ( your words) you did a tremendously wonderful job!! That little TE fox is one of my all time favorite dies too! Love your cute card with him center stage!! ((Hugs))

Eeek! That little fox is adorable! Add that die to my wish list (if I can find the end of it to add something to it… it's a bit out of control, really). Love your shaker card too but I'm with you - I don't make them often and when I do they take FOREVER!!! Not sure why - I'm just an idiot when it comes to them! LOL!

Well, I don't think you can ever have too many Zebra's so keep him coming. And he is ever so cute.... Congrats on winning at JUG's (I'm sorry but am I the only one that thinks of 'boob's everytime I see this challenge???), especially with your frustrating shaker card. I love making them and just realised I haven't made any recently, better remedy that. And I love the second card you made, its so CAS and love the layout. I think they should have been joint first place!!

Adorable shaker card, Carol! I have very few sequins myself, but they've grown on me & now I'm adding white not from the big box store to my collection--really stepping out there, I know--LOL The fox card is wonderful, too & congrats on the win!
