Florals x 2...The Card Concept #30~Thinking of You, CAS(E) this Sketch #113

Hello!

Nearly bedtime, but before I *try* to sleep (restless nights...grrr), a couple of floral cards to share. Perhaps dreaming of fields of flowers and butterflies will lull me to the Land of Nod...worth a try!

Heading to CAS(E) this Sketch #113 (with a wee adaptation, yet quite literal),

is my purple and green tulip Hello card.  I placed my tulip bloom just over the edge...hoping they'd 'replicate' (sort of the) the banner flags. I know, a stretch, but aren't those little stamens (thank you wikipedia for jolting my memory..should have taken biology in school!) cute?  My leave look yellow; they are not. They are Pear Tart green. I need more shades of green ink (wish list amended).

My clean and layered card, below, draws inspiration form The Card Concept #30~Thinking of You

It's my first effort at using 'layered' floral stamps (and masking, too), designed by our darling Bev over at Uniko:

I think we all agree: time for Spring and the beautiful blooms it brings...

Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
Hugs,

You definitely will NOT be going to Sketch Jail for this wee tweak of the design layout. In fact, I'd bet that it will be the Winner's Circle!

Card two....seriously your first attempt at layering and masking? Wow, Carol...this is amazing work! Beautiful colors - love the contrast of the light and dark shades and your perfectly balance design!

  15. DANG GIRL!!!! Two WWCD cards here! LOVE them. Your purple tulip is sooo sweet, and the little stamens peeking over the edge qualify perfectly in my book. After all, the edges of your tulip are the exact right shape. And your CCC card is just plain stunning. Your layered blossoms are perfectly executed, and really pretty. Love this duo! Bev

  16. OK, me and flowers - total love affair! Probably because I don't have the real thing at home. My cat eats them. No, seriously. Or she is getting a high from sniffing them, so that my roses or tulips are in pieces after just one night. Therefore: your cards are such a delight. Love the CAS style of the first one, but the warm colors and layout of the second one have my heart fluttering. Prettyness overload!

  20. Gosh! These are lovely, Carol. I love how you've framed the focal image and left plenty of white space. I could ever do that... I see white space as potential for clutter and then I lose myself. Got to watch and learn from you!
