Inkspirational Challenge #275 - Technique - Use Stencils...Batty Haunted House Happy Halloween (Photoplay and MCT)

Hello,

NEWSFLASH:  We're having a Design Team Call! See details here. Hope you'll consider joining us!

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #275, where we're inviting you to use STENCILS on your cards/projects.

Given it's October, I'm aiming to make Halloween cards as often as possible this month. Here, I've used Photoplay's Bats stencil, pairing it with the Haunted House and sentiment from MCT. A bit of vellum behind the house...something I rarely use but I wanted the house to stand out from the background. Simple...and certainly not scary!

Looking forward to seeing your stencil-themed makes in the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #652~Word Week - Scraps....Witch's Hat and Bow - Have a Sweet Halloween

Hello,

Thinking of our friends dealing with Hurricane Ian, especially as the impact has been felt by three of our teammates.

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #652, where our fabulous Ina invites us to use SCRAPS as this week's Word Week Challenge. Dig into those boxes and bags, pull out the bits and pieces and give them a chance to shine!

A new month (seriously....October already!) means a new Guest Designer. We're delighted to have Lynne Jardine joining us. I already know her cards will be mega inspiring!

My scraps come from a new Halloween paper pad from MCT - and I am using every piece I can! It's *that* awe-mazing. Here, I had enough from other projects to create what you see here. All the dies/stamps are also MCT.  Another Halloween card done!

Looking forward to your scrap-alistic makes filling the gallery!

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #651~Photo Week...Stylized Happy Thanksgiving (MCT Fall Leaves)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #651, where our lovely hostess, Nancy, has selected this gorgeous fall leaves photo as this week's inspiration. Autumn's presence is certainly being felt here...colourful leaves, frosty mornings, shorter days, cooler temperatures...and we're enjoying it all immensely.

This week, we also bid farewell to our amazing Guest Designer, Julie Beech. Her cards have been ever so inspiring; the one she's created for this challenge is absolutely marvelous! So, too are those of my teammates. If you have a chance to leave them some love, please do so.

I made three Autumn cards, using assorted leaf dies and distress inks, and they all just seemed 'meh' to me. I couldn't capture the beauty of fall with them, so...I switched gears and went with the card you see below, focusing on the leaves and what fall brings to mind, rather than the colours.. It's my 'stylized' version of a Thanksgiving card which, here in Canada, is but two weeks away. Time flies....

Papers are from my stash; leaf dies and sentiment from MCT; sentiment strip from Studio Katia.

Looking forward to seeing your take on the photo.

Thank you for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge #274~Photo Challenge...Snowflake Peace Love Joy (Create a Smile Negative Snowflake, C & 9th sentiment)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #274, where we have a lovely photo as inspiration for the next two weeks. What will spark your creativity - the flowers, the colours, the patterns, the script? Possibilities, indeed.

I went the Christmas route with my card, using the ever-so-lovely Negative Snowflake from Create a Smile and pairing it with a sentiment from Concord & 9th. Bits o gold bling finished it off.

Looking forward to seeing your creations in the gallery.

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #650~Color Week - Orange, Green and Brown - Trick or Treat (Craft Consortium & MCT)

Hello,

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #650, where our wonderful Bobby has selected orange, green and brown as this week's colour inspiration. Fall, Halloween...and so much more with this combination.

Julie Beech joins us once again as our September Guest Designer. Her card is fabulous, as are those by my teammates. Do drop by, if you have a moment, to give them some love.

Halloween for me! Papers and the decoupaged images are from Craft Consortium's Happy Haunting collection; the sentiment and panel dies are from MCT. Lots of dimension on this card; I think there's 5-6 layers for this image. And I still have so many more to use! Yayyy!

Looking forward to seeing your green, orange and brown creations.

Thank you for dropping by!

Embossing folder for the yellow panel; patterned paper for the brown. The frame is from MFT; the sentiment from Honey Bee. Lots of companies' products playing nicely.

Perfectly CAS Challenge #31 - September 2022 - Halloween...Ghost and Pumpkins Spooky (Craft Consortium)

Hello,

Welcome to the Perfectly CAS September 2022 challenge, where this month's theme is Halloween.

My *very* simple card features products - a wood die cut and puffy sticker - from Craft Consortium's Happy Haunting.. So much cute in that collection...and I have so much left to use!

Please be sure to pop by my teammates' blogs, leave them some love, then play along with us!
  • A friendly reminder: For this challenge, we're asking you to use one-third (aka: the rule of thirds) or less on your card designs, leaving plenty of scrumptious white space (two-thirds of your panel) to draw our eyes to to your focal image. Kylie has included an easy-to-follow explanation on the challenge blog here.

Thank you for dropping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #649~Trend Week - Repetition...Witch Hats Happy Halloween (MCT)

Hello,

I'm delighted to be your hostess for  Just Us Girls Trend Week challenge which is REPETITION, inspired by the oh-so-talented Cathy Z. Her video is here.

In a nutshell: we want you to use repetition on your card/project: repeated words, repeat stamping, repeat colours, repeat patterns, repeat a 'style' of die-cut (ie. different size houses) etc. You can even combine repetitions, such as repeated hearts with different patterns.

We thrilled to have super talented Julie Beech joining us as our guest designer. Her card is Merry Everything marvelous, as you will see.

Once again, I'm playing with MCT products, pairing new - paper, specifically (love the pink!) - with older ones: witch hat, banner stamp and die collection.

Hope my witchy hat trio makes you smile!

How will repetition inspire YOU?

HLS September 2022 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge...Candy Corn Flying By with a Halloween Hi (MCT)

Hello,

Getting a start on Halloween makes, especially since my recent order from one of my all-time favourite companies - My Creative Time - arrived early. I was inspired by this card designed by Emma, the genius behind MCT products, so much so that I pretty much cased it 100%. Dies used to cut out the labels (which are patterned papers from her new release), the candy corn, the grey strip and the bow (that, from Studio Katia). I'm smitten with this card!

Which of your dies will you dazzle us with? Looking forward to seeing you in the gallery!

HLS September 2022 Christmas Challenge~Anything Goes (optional: Metallic)...Dec. 25th Reindeer (MCT and Simon Says)

Hello,

Welcome to the HLS September 2022 Christmas Challenge. Hard to believe Christmas is but four months away!

The challenge theme is always Anything Goes, with an optional twist which this month, is Metallic.

My card features a wee bit of shimmery green in the die cut Dec. 25th. Not sure that truly qualifies as metallic, but I sure like how it adds some brightness to the card.

What Christmas makes will you bring to the gallery!
Excited to see!

Inkspirational Challenge #273~Designer's Choice - Repetition....Sending You Candy Corn Kisses (MCT)

Hello,

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #273 where, as my Designer's Choice, I've selected *repetition*.

I was inspired by this video from Cathy Z:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjyu9mIUu8M&ab_channel=CathyZielske

She suggested a variety of ways to add repetition to your card design: repeated words, repeat stamping, repeat colours, repeat patterns, repeat a 'style' of die-cut (ie. different size houses) etc. You can even combine repetitions, such as repeated hearts with different patterns.

Tons and tons of possibilities

How about a trio of candy corns for 'repetition'...along with repeated styles of background panels. These little candies are adorable! I'm not inclined to eat candy corn, but when it comes to cute images, I'm all over them! All products - stamps, dies and papers -  are from My Creative Time; I love love and love Emma's creative goods!

Check out my team's fabulous cards, then

Color Hues Challenge #48~Navy and Lime Green....Have A Magical Birthday Mermaid

Hello,

Color Hues is turning TWO - how quickly time has flown - and we, along with the team at Seize the Birthday, are having a CELEBRATION

The best part: You're invited to party along with us!

Here's what you need to bring:

a birthday card that features the colour hues - navy and lime green - chosen by Sheri.

I've brought my pretty MCT mermaid and waves out for this special event, as she's already dolled up with her glamourous hair style! Lime and navy mirror stock for the die cuts. The lime doesn't really show in a 'normal' photo, so I've added a second as proof that yes, this is definitely lime! The navy looks brighter than it is in real life but but it's full-on navy. Shimmer, sheeny paper; so pretty but a challenge to get accurate in photos.

After you link up your card for this challenge, head over to Seize the Birthday and Link up there as well!  Each Challenge blog will pick its own Winners!

Looking forward to a gallery filled with  navy and lime green  birthday cards!

Thank you for dropping by!
