Wow, the past two months have absolutely flown by! Being the Guest Designer for The Pink Elephant for March and April: definitely a dream come true! Today is my wrap up post: bittersweet indeed! This week, over at The Pink Elephant #296, the team and I are tempting you with a technique challenge...
The Pink Elephant #296~
ANYTHING GOES
Guess what arrived in my mailbox recently...something I've had my eye on for a long time! Altenew's Painted Butterflies! Oh my....they are AH-MAZING! I experienced a bit of a learning curve in working with them (as Mr. Recycle can attest to!), but after a few practices, I arrived at layers that made me happy. Guaranteed you'll be seeing more of these lovelies...swooning!!
My cards are really simple, allowing the butterflies take center stage on my debut-of-this-set duo, which reflect the colours of the rainbow...
Down the road, I may consider other techniques with them, as I've seen many designers do, however, for now..."just as they are" works for me! Still a few in the set awaiting ink....
Please head over (or if you've already been, THANK YOU for coming my way) to see the photo inspired delights designed by
THANK YOU to The Pink Elephant team for inviting me to play alongside you these past two months. I'm ever so grateful! You'll definitely be seeing *my* cards in the gallery!

ReplyDeleteYou were a great asset to the Pink Elephant team Carol and I'm sure they were just as excited to have you as you were to be on the team for these 2 months! 2 months, were did those 2 months go?!! sigh I love, love your butterfly cards Carol! I have seen other's use them and I didn't care for them so much, but I love the way yours has turned out. The are really pretty and I almost bought them myself but then settling for the roses made by Altenew instead. lol But you are making me rethink these butterflies! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteCarol gorgeous cards, love the stamping and the sentiment on the first card--what stamp is that and what ink did you use! These are fantastic. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou're the butterfly queen, Carol. Those layered stamps are wonderful and the simple design makes them shine.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS butterflies! I love the colors and I love how you've let the sentiment play a supporting role to the glorious winged pretties!
ReplyDeleteBTW...is it just my computer or my old eyes, but the font your blog posts (the last 3 or 4) is soooooooo small. I seriously can barely see what I'm typing. Just wondering ???
Oh my goodness, these are beautiful! I LOVE the colours you've chosen. They really highlight the beauty of the butterflies. Lovely!!

These butterflies are perfect for you, Carol...and I LOVE how you played with them! Gorgeous color combos and you've paired them with the perfect sentiments! I'm looking forward to seeing more of these beauties on your cards :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I stopped by to see these beautiful and magnificent cards. I love how you have stamped and arranged these butterflies. I posted a couple of cards with this set today, and felt very unsure as to whether or not I got the right bits together. So, not only are your butterflies gorgeous, but I am pinning them as a homework tutorial, to work out how you layered them, so I can make sure I do it right next time. Truly lovely cards today.
ReplyDeleteThis pair of butterfly cards is just gorgeous! Love the bright colors. Thank you so much for playing along with us over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog this week :)
ReplyDeleteWow...these are simply amazing. You are the second person I have seen today using these wonderful butterflies...I need these now. Your cards are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGood morning sweetie, these are both just gorgeous, I love how the butterflies have turned out like they have been drawn gorgeous hugs Pops x
ReplyDeleteVery creative! Thank you for joining us at TO Challenge!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you joined us at HOC with these. They're fab!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Carol! You have obviously got the hang of these layered stamps very quickly. Love your butterflies and CAS, elegant designs. Great to see them at both Time Out and Uniko :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Carol, I am so happy that you finally got the stamp set! If only for the selfish reason that you showed me quite a few color combinations I had not previously thought of, and which I will now try with the set myself.
ReplyDeleteAnd if it's any consolation: I did have a learning curve with these stamps myself. At first I didn't even know which ones belonged together, because some of the stamps are spread across the set. I actually cheated and started to draw lines around the stamps that belong together :-)
Carol, these are beautiful! Your butterfly creations have been amazing! We have enjoyed having you guest design with us the last two months! Thank you so much for sharing your fabulous talent with TPE! Big hugs! ❤️
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time that I've really noticed those butterflies - I LOVE your colors and the simple way they are fluttering around the sentiment!
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful stamps--can see why you had to have them! Lovely cards, Carol!
ReplyDeleteStunning!!! You rocked the butterfly stamps, the color choices are right on! Beautiful cards!!
