Today, I'm super excited (and a wee bit nervous!) to be guest designing for the wonderful stretch-your-creativity-and-your-products Twofer Card Challenge #32!
I recently invited a new mermaid die into my collection and oh, how pretty she is! For Card #1, I used a Studio Katia slimline die, creating an ocean scene for the mermaid, who I die-cut with Deco-Foil paper and then foiled with Rainbow Shattered Glass. She shimmers beautifully The delicate frame was also foiled in the same fashion. A scattering of Studio Katia iridescent bubbles completes the design and the sentiment makes clear (I hope) that this is an encouragement card. My niece loves mermaids soooo...we know who'll be receiving this one.
For my second card, I cut the mermaid from turquoise mirror cardstock and again, used Studio Katia products to create the shaker shell. A piece of alcohol-inked paper creates the ocean background; the birthday sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.
Lovely shiny shimmeriness on both your designs, Carol ... you captured the elegance of the mermaids' underwater worlds beautifully on each one ... the pearly bubbles and sequin shaker elements are fabulous finishing touches! Thanks so much for inspiring our players as our Guest Designer at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a delightful pair of darling mermaid cards, Carol! And the shimmery shine you've used makes these ladies extra special. I'm trying to decide if I like the first or second mermaid more...I think I'll call it a tie as both look amazing. LOVE the shaker shell you've created, too! A giant oyster with a million pearls! Thank you so much for Guest Designing for us at The Twofer Challenge. Lovely to have you. Stay safe. xo Bev
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being selected as a guest designer, Carol. Simply wonderful. And so are your cards. They are equally beautiful. I love the foiling on the first one. You've created a lovely encouragement card. The shaker shell is fantastic and you can't go wrong with the specialty cardstock. Fabulous work. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for being one of our Guest Designers this month, c! Your mermaid is so very pretty and a certain little girl is going to love adding this beautiful foiled underwater lady to her collection of Auntie Cards! I love your second design with the amazing shell filled with "pearls" and the mermaid cut from turquoise mirror card! I'll bet both of these knock your eyes out in person! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSo glad you joined in as one of our guest designers this month. Your mermaid silhouette is featured so wonderfully on both cards. Lovely designs. Thank you again for joining us for Twofer Card Challenge #32.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful twofer, Carol! I love the shine from both the foil and the mirrored cardstock for your sweet mermaid silhouettes! Your niece will be overjoyed to receive her beautiful slimline card! That shell makes an excellent shaker to go with your mermaid too! Thanks so much for guest designing with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Carol...don't know why you were nervous to share your cards as they are both FABULOUS!! I absolutely LOVE the mermaid image you used for your silhouettes, and it looks amazing in both the shattered foil (I have some of that but have never used it...too chicken I guess!!) and the mirrored cardstock! I love the shimmery pearls on your slimline card too and the clam shell shaker as well! You outdid yourself on both of these cards Carol...thank you SO much for guest designing with us this month...we love having you join along with us!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteStunning Twofer with that mermaid, Carol - just love them both!! So much shimmer with the foiling on card one and the fun shaker on card two!! Congrats on being a guest designer at Twofer!!
ReplyDeleteThese are both MERMAZING! (Sorry, it's that kind of day...) The shimmery mermaids are gorgeous, and each setting is perfection. Congrats on your guest gig!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful twofers! I love the mermaid silhouette your used, she is so pretty. How fun to make a slimline card with her, love the ocean scene you created. The shaker card with this fabulous mermaid is equally stunning. I love the shell as the shaker, makes for a great birthday card.
