Love...Inkspirational Challenge #179~Photo Inspiration

Hello,

Hope you're having a fabulous weekend so far.  I most certainly am, here at my mom's for a few days.

Welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #180, where elegant sweet treats await to spark creativity (an cravings!).  Pink, gold, white...elegance!

New products *swoon* from The Stamp Market playing today. The pink heart needed some oomph; Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder gave just the right texture.

My wonderful teammates have interpreted the prompt in beautiful ways; please visit and leave them some love, which I know will be deeply appreciated:

Looking forward to visiting you in the gallery!

Birthday Fishes...Just Us Girls Challenge #472~Photo Challenge

Hello!

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #472~Photo Week, where our sweet Nancy has selected  nautical/ocean images as this week's inspiration.

Once again, we're thrilled to have dual Guest Designers - Janet Ribet and Cindy Major - joining us. Please visit them, as well as my teammates - Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisaand Maria - who would love to know you dropped by.

Given that I live in the foothills of Alberta, combined with harbouring a fear of water and whatever lurks in it depths (sorry for the pun *grin*), my collection of sea objects is pretty much non-existent. I do, however, have a variety of ocean creatures on hand, which are cute and not scary! Studio Katia Under the Sea for images; same for the aperture and panel.

Over to you...

Looking forward to seeing your photo interpretations in the gallery!

Simple Stamping and Stenciling~Uniko Studio DT Inspiration

Hello,

I'm here - and over at the Uniko Studio blog - 'giving some love' to a variety of my Uniko stamps and stencils today; hopefully, my trio will make you smile and, perhaps, even offer a bit of inspiration (which would thrill me to bits and pieces!).  Nothing super-duper fancy, as you'll see; rather, just a whole lot of inking, a bit of dry embossing and a curved panel die cut.  Clean and simple; the kind of card to make when time is at a premium.

As all three share the same design, I'll just dive in with the basic ingredients and 'how-to'...

Card 1
Lower panel: base of Tattered Rose Distress Oxide
(I used Bristol cardstock for this section; Michael's heavy weight cardstock for the top portion)
Stencil: Nature's Treasures II; Tea Dye Distress Oxide
SentimentSimply Said

Card 2
Lower panel: dry embossed (hard to see in the photo, but definitely there)
StencilFun Flower
StampFun Flower; stenciled with Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide; leaves with Versafine Clair)
Sentiment:  Simply Said

 Card 3
Lower panel: base of Distress Oxides - Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire
StencilLet It Snow; Stormy Sky Distress Oxide
Stamp: Stunning Snowflakes; various ME pigment inks (I love pigment inks...just sayin')
Sentiment:  Simply Said; and 'Winter' from Stunning Snowflakes

So...I'm ready with two birthday cards and one 'just because'! Easy to recreate! If you decide to give these techniques/styles a go, do let me know! I'm always on the lookout for dazzling inspiration and ways to elevate the way I use my Uniko stamps, stencils and dies!

Uniko Studio January Non-Release Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hello (and yes, a third post!!),

Welcome to the first Uniko Studio Non-Release Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY of 2019. I'm delighted to join Bev, our wonderful leader and designer extraordinaire, and my teammates to showcase our favourite product released from 2018.  Given that a total of 23 new clear stamp sets, 2 re-introduced clear stamp sets, 14 stencil designs and 2 new designer die collections were launched in 2018, making a choice was not easy! Soooo much to love!

After much debate, I settled on the 'one' product that really does make my heart sing: the Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum Stencil.  Yes, 'just' a stencil, but I adore it. Plentiful possibilities to bring it to life and the best part: the memories it evokes of my grandmother's garden, filled with colourful, lush chrysanthemums as big as our heads (I exaggerate not...they were gorgeous and gi-normous!).

I opted for rainbow, because in my world, chrysanthemums can be any and all colours, and paired it with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks and a smattering of Pretty Pink Posh crystals.

Rainbows make me smile; so do chrysanthemums! Hope my card brings you a smile, too.

Please visit my teammates to see how beautifully they've showcased their favourite products and do leave comments as you go to be in the running to win a Uniko £25 eGift Certificate.

You have until Midnight (GMT) Saturday 19th January 2019 to comment; the winner will be announced Sunday 20th 2019.

Thank you for dropping by!

You Warm My Heart...Inkspirational Challenge #178~Designer's Choice

Hello,

Welcome to our first Inkspirational Challenge #178~Designer's Choice of 2019.  Our talented Anila is inviting us to use kraft on our cards/projects. The versatility of kraft is widespread...I know you'll find wonderfully creative ways to showcase it.

Okay...I realize we're nearly mid-January and I 'should' be moving away from Christmas into Valentine's Day (on the radar for sure!), but...I 'happened' to have some leftover coloured images from Pink and Main's Eskimo Kisses set calling for attention.  So: they got it!

One cutie-pie polar bear...

an adorable walrus and a sweet seal.  Actually, I had intended to pair the walrus+seal with the kraft card base and the polar bear with the white but...wasn't paying attention and didn't realize my mistake until everything was committed. Sighhh...oh well...hopefully no one will notice (even though I've fully confessed *grin*).

My wonderful teammates have interpreted the prompt in beautiful ways; please visit and leave them some love, which I know will be deeply appreciated:

Looking forward to visiting you in the gallery!

Roses Thank You...Just Us Girls Challenge #470~Trend Week: Emboss Resist

Hello,

A bit of a blog-a-palooza happening today...

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #470~Trend Week, where our wonderfully talented Vicki invites to use the Emboss Resist Technique on our cards/projects.

We're delighted to have dual Guest Designers - Janet Ribet and Cindy Major - joining us once again.  Please visit them, as well as my teammates - Sue, Angie, Vicki, Ina, Bobby, Nancy, Lisa and Maria - who would love to know you dropped by.

I went 'very' simple with my emboss/resist card, as a) embossing, while beautiful, causes me 'warping' grief and b) watercolouring is...well, you already know...my nemesis! So...a 'smaller' canvas to try to mitigate my issues *grin*. My Favorite Things Roses All Over for the background and a simple sentiment from Uniko's Simply Said series. My zigs played 'sort' of nicely with the water....

Inspiration for my clean and layered card came from the pretty pink flowers at The Card Concept Challenge #106~Pink Party

Over to you...

Looking forward to seeing your lovely emboss resist techniques in the gallery!

Think Positive...STAMPlorations It's a Girl Thing Mini Release

Hello,

I'm thrilled to be joining several of the STAMPlorations gals as part of the It's A Girl Thing Mini Release. Our wonderful Shery, with her design skills extraordinaire, has created yet another duo of sets with whimsical floral and butterfly images and uplifting sentiments perfect for the women in our lives: It's A Girl Thing: Sunshine and It's A Girl Thing: Kindness.

I was fortunate to receive the Kindness set and, of course, my eye was immediately drawn to the oh-so-pretty butterfly! I stamped a trio of butterflies on a bristol card-stock panel, cut with my Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting dies, coloured them with my zig markers (which I've used a la copic style, using a darker/lighter shade marker combination for each section) in a more-or-less rainbow palette, added the sentiment and ta dahhhh...done! An encouragement card ready to go!

You'll see these stamps set again in action on February 1 when we participate in the Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop.

Want to be in the running for prizes?  Absolutely you do! I invite you to:
  • Leave a comment on my post, on the STAMP blog post, and on the participating designers posts for a chance at the prize.
  • The Prize: $15 coupon code each to three (3) commenters randomly drawn from comments left on all the blogs
  • Commenting closes on January 31. Winners to be announced February 10 in the January winners post.

Thank you for dropping by!

Merry and Bright Holly...Happy Little Stampers January 2019 Anything Goes with Dies Challenge

Hello,

Time to launch the first Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies Challenge for 2019!

Yes, I know it's January and I should be well done with Christmas cards (well, aside from those for Christmas challenges *grin*), but...had to share some cards made with the fabulous Mondo Holly from Ellen Hutson. So pretty and so wonderfully easy to colour. I used zigs - more or less like copics - for the trio here, then added them to patterned paper panels.  I just love the 'mondo' size!

Please visit my teammates to see their wonderful creations and, if you have a moment, leave them some love. I know they'll be thrilled!

Looking forward to seeing your Anything Goes with Dies cards/projects in the galle

Owlidays...Just Us Girls Challenge #469~Word Week (Leftovers)

Hello,

I missed you during our Christmas break; wonderful to be back, playing cards with you!

Welcome to Just Us Girls Challenge #469~Word Week, where our lovely hostess, Sue, is inviting us to use Leftovers on our cards/projects. If your crafting area is anything like mine, you have all sorts of bits and bobbles awaiting their turn on a card panel. Let's bring them out and shift those 'leftovers' into main courses!

This month, we're thrilled to have dual Guest Designers:  Janet Ribet and Cindy Major.  Please visit them, as well as my teammates - SueAngieVickiInaBobbyNancyLisa and Maria - who would love to know you dropped by.

During Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags back in November, I invited a few sets from Sunny Studios into my collection and showcased them on Day 24.  I 'happened' to have several remaining images left over...and here they are now, adorning not just one, but several, card panels. These owls are just toooooo dang cute!

Over to you...

Looking forward to seeing your delightful 'leftovers' in the gallery!
