Sooo...did you enjoy yesterday's showcases of the new Uniko Studio birthday/celebration themed sets? You did? Excellent! Are you ready for Day 2? Fabulous!
Today, lovely Bev, my fabulous team and I are showcasing Spring Botanicals Daffodil which, as you'll see, features a single lovely daffodil and several sweet sentiments. This set is open to so many techniques and approaches depending on your technique and design preferences. You'll see ever so many variations from the team that I know will speak to the artist in you...
I used a 'new to me' technique for my first card: distress ink bleaching (inspired by Svitlana's post here). My daffodil is much more defined/lighter in real life and has a subtle shimmer from the perfect pearlized water I used. My 'learning' for next time is to let the water sit for a bit longer before blotting...
From a pastel palette to full on vibrant for my next card. The CAS in me just 'had' to come out *grin* Background Blocks Horizontal Stripes and Simply Said Blocks (sentiment) joining the party...
That's all from me; I *may* have a couple more daffodils waiting in the wings...
Thank you for dropping by! Hope to see you on Sunday...and Monday...and Tuesday...and, especially Wednesday...
Thank you for dropping by!
Super cards Carol. The bleached one is so pretty and the contrast between that just showcases your versatility. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the soft bleached effect is so gorgeous (and one I'll have to try). Really pretty colours too. Love the bold, CAS card too. xx
ReplyDeleteHow pretty, love that big ole daffodil!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh that bleaching technique looks intriguing and your card is lovely. That is one of my favorite color combos! The sentiment is wonderful, too. I also like the bold yellow stripes on the second card. In your face happy is neat! Great job on these cards, Carol! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love that bleached technique you've shown on the first card Carol ... I need to try that one again as it really gives a stunning effect to the card. Swooning at the sheer simplicity of the outline daffodil image teamed with the horizontal stripes - just beautiful. x
ReplyDeleteTwo pretty cards...........love your colours and bleaching in the first one and the outline against the yellow background is very effective on the second one. xx
ReplyDeleteThe bleached card is really subtle and such pretty colours. The second grabs the limelight for me though, so simple and so crisp, love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat techniques for your lovely daffodil cards.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous soft sponged background, Carol ... the daffodil is dreamy against it ... and I love those bold, bright yellow stripes with the daffodil left as line art ... crisp, fresh and wonderfully CAS! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. That bleaching technique is so fun, but that vibrant sunny yellow steals the show!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards!

ReplyDeleteTwo super cards and two very different designs to showcase that super daffodil xx
ReplyDeleteThese look fab .... I love the bleached effect on the first one, the daffodil looks so delicate. The stripey background on the second card gives it a real fun look xx
ReplyDeleteTwo different techniques. Two very different cards but both of them lovely, Carol. I'm partial to the ink blended one for is wonderful color and glow but the CAS one is bright and sunny and a perfect Spring birthday card.
