All my traveling hither and yon (with more to come later today, as my husband and I are embarking on a much-anticipated holiday...and yes, as per usual, it is road-bike race related *grin*) sees me missing longer bouts of time my craft room. I have new goodies calling my name, but for now, they're just sitting in the NBUS pile....waiting...patiently...
Moving along...welcome to Inkspirational Challenge #139~Designer's Choice, where my talented, sweet teammate, Shauna, is inviting us to use an 'all kinds of possibilities' sketch in our designs:
For this challenge, we welcome our talented Guest Designer, IZZY, who is joining my wonderful team - Sandie, Marina, Kylie, Yvonne, Shauna. Speaking of teammates: our sweet Pia has left our DT after three years. I'm sad she's leaving, as I - and all of us - will miss her creativity and inspiration, but...we understand. Life takes us in different directions. Wishing you the best of luck in everything, Pia, my friend! Hope we'll see you in the gallery!
As 'inviting' as the sketch is, my on-an-extended-vacation Mr. Mojo had some challenges. I started with this card (Concord & 9th's Many Mandalas)
which, 'design wise' turned out fine, but why I selected a pop of fushia as a stand-alone, who knows? Oh wait...I do know! I was trying out some new inks which, while super pretty are stamp stainers! GAH! Oh well...a good scrubbing helped, but still...grrrrr! My lovely Mandalas appear no worse for wear, so that's a plus...
After a bit more pondering, I decided that my Altenew Farmer's Market needed some attention...and that's precisely what it received...
See...you can use any shape you want in place of the circles (even salad ingredients!).

Looking forward to seeing your sketch-inspired creations in the gallery!
Thank you for dropping by; your visit is both welcomed and deeply appreciated!
Both of your cards are very fun Carol but those veggies have stolen my heart! I love the colors of that card and the soft look of the images. Wonderful work!
ReplyDeletePretty mandalas, Carol ... and a delicious crisp salad ... such a fun take on the sketch! Happy and safe travelling, my friend! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteHappy and safe travels to you and your hubby, Carol. I hope you get some rest and relaxation in there somewhere too. Your cards are so pretty. Mandalas always intrigue me and these are lovely. I like the crispy salady summery feel of the second card. Great job! Thanks for sharing! :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun cards! I like the fun shapes on the first card, but vegetables!... very clever! I don't know that I have ever seen a vegetable stamp, so this definitely made me smile. Good job with the sketch! And have fun on your bike vacation!

ReplyDeleteGreat cards! I love the designs and colors!
ReplyDeleteLove both of your cards Carol, those veggies are wonderful. I want to get mine out again!
ReplyDeleteI so know what you mean about the staining. I've got some old Paper Smooches that are so black, you can't even see them!! I do like the mandalas, and yes, the pink one too! Those veggies look delicious! All they need is either a bowl or a bunny! Have a great and wonderful time on your holiday. You'll have to tell me all about it when you get home!! Bev
ReplyDeleteA lot of my stamps are stained too, especially the ones which have received a lot of love. Doesn't bother me too much though, I must say. Kinda proves I've been using them which justifies me buying them. haha Love your pretty cards too. The mandalas are lovely and I like the magenta one too. Love the use of the veggies too. Very lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteI love both of your fresh, bright cards but I do think the vegetable one really stands out - so clean and fresh...yes I know I am overusing the word fresh but that is exactly how it looks!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun takes on the sketch and love the vibrant colours of these vegetables x
ReplyDeleteSo cute Carol!!I hope all is well and you are enjoying your summer!
ReplyDeleteWell, c, you do know how much I adore those veggies... so I'd have to pick that as a fave. Both wonderful!
