Awesomeness...Addicted to Stamps and More #185~Photo Inspiration

Hello!

Hope you're adjusting well to Daylight Savings! Me? Still somewhat out of whack...but that's my condition most of the time *grin*

Today, my fabulous DT and I invite you to Addicted to Stamps and More #185~

where we're drawing inspiration from this photo, filled with ever so many launching points. Single words, groups of words, subway art, flowers, home decor, colours...unlimited possibilities!

My first card, inspired by the flowers, the pink cups, the coral flower pot, the green of the leaves, translated into reaching for my CAS-ual Fridays Mon Ami set to design this little pencils-and stenciling number:

(Still need to practice my blending with the pencils I have...or order more! I'm leaning
toward the latter *smile*)

My second contribution showcases zero talent from me; rather, it's a 'just because I can' opportunity to try my hand at replicating one of Deepti's cards, showcased here.  My only twists: colours and aperture opening, as beyond that, it's Deepti-esque in every way.  Do as the Masters do, say I!  The best part: a card I'm fairly pleased with and a design style that, with a few little changes, can fit a variety of occasions.  I rubbed Perfect Pearls onto the green sponged panel; wish I could capture the subtle shimmer....

In addition to the photo to spark ideas, we have even more incentive, as we're sponsored this week by Kylie's generosity of a $15 gift certificate over at

How I'd love to see YOU win!

Your turn!  See you in the gallery!

Thank you for spending time with me today; your visit brings me joy!

  6. Ooooh, Carol, you're coloring looks fabulous!! You are definitely getting the hang of it. I adore the soft colors and your blending of said colors. I really like the stenciled background on the first card, too. Sets off those blooms beautifully. Your second card is gorgeous. What a great idea to have the flowers framed like that. Again, colored beautifully and then set off so nicely. I'd love to see the shimmer, too. I can imagine it's gorgeous. Lovely work! As for Daylight Saving Time...I don't think I've caught up yet, and it's Wednesday, for goodness sake! But I do like the lighter later, bit. :)
