Welcome to Addicted to Stamps and More #143 where my fabulous design team and I are inviting you to showcase cards that are holiday themed.
Today, I'm celebrating Mother's Day as a holiday; the day (should be a week long event, or maybe even a month, or twelve) when all moms are relieved of their mom-ly duties and given ample opportunity to languish about, doing whatever they want (How about an undisturbed bubble bath? Reading a book in peace and quiet? Shopping for things fun and frivolous, that they want? Uninterrupted crafting time?) and experiencing spoiling and pampering in every way possible. Yayyy... to moms, grandmoms, great-grandmoms, aunty-moms (a little self-plug there)! Just so you know: I am NOT a mom (got married way toooooo late for that to happen, but I am an auntie - and, years ago, used to be a mom to two fur-babies - so I think that kind of qualifies for at least a snippet of 'doing what I want' on Mother's Day...)
Here's my card...which, by the way, involved stenciling, sponging, stamping, a wee bit of cussing (it took 4 tries until I had a card I was happy with...and I still think it needs work). I know this stencil is better showcased by those talented enough to 'draw prints', but having no devices to create thusly, I did my best. The stencil created the green spaces and the flower 'openings,' which I then sponged and 'matching daisy' stamped.
with colour choices drawn from TIME OUT #30
Please be sure to check out the holiday-inspired cards from the rest of the ATSM team. You'll be WOW-ed! Fueled with inspiration, create a card of your own to share in the gallery! As extra incentive to play, the winner will receive:
7 free digis
Since my card is all things STAMPlorations, I'm also heading off to STAMPlorations Anything Goes
Thanks so much for dropping by; your visit and comments add sparkle to my day!
So so PRETTY!!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you think this card needs more work, Carol. To me it's PERFECT! I love the offset print look you created with the stencil and stamp. That's exactly how I envisioned the result to look like when I designed the stencil to coordinate with the daisy stamp -- not to line up perfectly when you're using both, but instead create that artsy, offset look. Your color combo is also wonderfully soft and gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell done, my friend, well done! The cussing must have paid off, because you've really created a beauty here. Love those daisies. They are just the happiest of flowers! Your colors are perfect here. I'm sure your mom will love this. And speaking of moms...My mom used to roll her eyes and say "everyday is mother's day" when we kids were being naughty...But that must have been my sisters and brother, right?! LOL. Give your mom my best regards. Bev
ReplyDeleteI think it is fabulous Carol, you did an amazing job here and I love the colours you chose x
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike, lovey! I reckon it should be a holiday every day for us Mums!!! LOL. Your techniques are fabulous and I wish I could have been a fly on the wall listening to you swear like a trooper. Maybe not a trooper but a very annoyed crafter lol. LOVE the colours too - just perfect! xx
